    When I was your age and first married, my new husband freaked when I spent 3500 dollors for a gorgeous, hand woven rug (reg. price 4500) and 35 years later, I still have and I still love it. Better to buy quality rather than cheap stuff that might not last as long. Buy what you love: you don't have to justify the purchase! Thanks for the nice video!

      If I wanted to replicate this look and I get to the part with the rug and it’s like two grand, I’m going to think his entire house is made of expensive items which is fine and I’m happy for him, but it’s probably not the kind of content I’d come back to because I’m poor as dirt lol. I think maybe that’s what he was trying to get at, that he’s still doing DIYs for us poor folk but he wanted to splurge in this one item.

You can see in the video that the rug stretches when you walk on it due to the slippery wood floor so it might lose its shape in the future. :)

    The rug is gorgeous - there really is a difference in how a quality rug looks and feels and it’s a great investment when it’s such a classic timeless piece. One suggestion I have it to get a good mattress protector or topper to give your mattress a longer life. The protector is washable and absorbs all the perspiration that would otherwise soak into your mattress. Xx

Interior design is so much more than decorating. There’s a bunch of “interior designers” on HGTV like Magnolia Farms and Meghee... but they aren’t licensed as well so they don’t have the training or ability to architecturally change/build without hiring an architect or someone who has a stamp to release construction documents. Also varies by state but that’s how it is in GA.

It isn't exactly just selecting items that looks nice together and creating a wall decor that is pleasant to look at or lights that look nice, but also where should the lights be located and why, what types of door you can use what would be most helpful in that space.

    I literally laughed out loud at 10:07 when you said “I’m just going to go to Homegoods right now to find a rug”. No one just goes to Homegoods to find the rug they want. No one. You got so lucky. That rug is so nice! A good neutral rug with tiny pops of color, that is handwoven, wool, AND VINTAGE, is so hard to find. And there is no need to justify the price you paid. A hand knotted, wool rug. Everyone needs to STOP buying cheaply made plastic propylene artificial material rugs, that don’t last and look cheap. Buy ONE good hand knotted wool Turkish / Moroccan / made in India rug, new or vintage restored/revived from a trusted source, and use it and care for it for a lifetime!

      While I agree that he shouldn’t be judged for the amount he payed for the rug, it’s sort of weird for you to say everyone needs to buy a real authentic Indian made rug. Like I’m sure all of us would love to but many of us aren’t fortunate enough to be able to drop 1500 on a rug. A lot of people want their space to be comfortable but don’t have an unlimited budget

    • @LittleGrayPanda
      @LittleGrayPanda 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dominic Zaragoza you can eventually invest in a hand knotted rug made in India, Turkey or Morocco or even made in the US. You can get whatever rug that suits your budget now, and when the time is right, invest in a good one later. Sort of like furniture or a good mattress, or even fashion, investing in good pieces later are going to save you money from having to rebuy these items later. I agree, not everyone can afford a hand knotted wool rug. But these are items that one can get when the time is right in their life and save money down the road from having to rebuy later.
      Also check home goods for hand knotted rugs. You’ll be surprised. People are finding wool hand knotted rugs for $130-$400. So these rugs can be affordable if purchased at the right place too. It’s just more difficult to find the right one for your home since home goods can be a treasure hunt. And you have to be lucky sometimes. I found one for $129 that I really liked but it sold when I didn’t buy it right away.

    this was amazing 😍 tip: cut the candle wick down a bit so the flame is smaller and it doesn't smoke

    This room is perfect-except for those black 80’s style chairs in the corner.

      i also find that those chairs are not matching the rest of the room, and i don’t like them personally 😬

      @@Irenee_vx The 80’s are coming back in furniture design in a BIG way. Those chairs are beautiful, yes, but just like the 80’s aesthetic, they overpower the bedroom, and make that corner under the arched window really dark. The print on the chairs was also a surprising choice-and not a good one.

    I love the fact that you add some dark colours, that you don't usually see a lot on TH-cam or in general.

    This room is elegant & sophisticated. The extended curtain rod blends the different style windows, high lights the arched window as a focal point & draws the eye up to create the impression of an expansive grand space. The deep mossy green board & batton accent wall grounds the room & balances the black dresser & chairs. The rug has the perfect blend of natural colors & units the elements with in the room. The chandelier symbolizes a crown, finishing this master bedroom that's fit for a Queen. You've designed a stunning space & it suits you well. Wishing you abundant Blessings & continued momentum of your success in the new year!

    Looks great! So glad you treated yourself to a rug you really love. I think I like the idea of just using the green paneling as your headboard to keep it simpler. Everything looks warm and cozy. Enjoy this special space you deserve it!
