#1 I expect that bucket fills with fecal matter over time and either needs to be cleaned out or replaced and #2 (no pun intended) for those of us in hard winter country that would have to be buried pretty deep I expect?!
Not sad, ever hear of a composting toilet? Some nice thrones, and you can fertilize a nice row of Cypress trees, for a wind break. Or some other none food tree, biodegradable soaps and shampoo can drain into the yard. Solar and those rooftop wind turbines for power on sunny or windy days, homesteading it totally green if you want it to be.
we use a homemade composting toilet that has a urine separator. Been using it for 3 years now and love it. The urine runs out from a pipe into a graywater system like shown in this video. All solid waste goes in a bag in a bucket, and then we cover it with sawdust. We dump it once a week into a compost out back, and have 3 large bins that we cycle every year. Every year, the 3rd year bin gets used for ornamental plants and trees around the property. The toilet has a 12v computer fan that pushes any air from inside the bucket out through a vent to the outdoors. There is no smell in the house, and we make great compost for shrubs and trees! :D Highly recommend doing it this way if you can in your area.
Yes you can use the restroom Fraley. I have customers that use this very same bucket for an Airbnb once a week he will dump a couple hundred gallons gray and black water through it. Works fine
Why would it stink? Do you not treat your sewage? You should be using something like "happy campers holding tank treatment". Then there is no smell. Plus it breaks down everything quicker which allows it to absorb into the ground quicker as well.
Yes he means the drain line when he says tile. Farmers that are draining their fields use the word tile because the drain lines used to be big clay tiles the water could flow through like a pipe.
it's been going great the only slight smell you do indicate is when you open up the gray in a black water and you have the air forcing through the line into the bucket as soon as that's done the smell goes away instantly.
If you are using the proper treatment in your tank, it will break everything down. Then it being pushed into the bucket with the water pressure, it gets pulverized and breaks down further. However, the treatment you put in your tank, such as "happy campers holding tank treatment", will break everything down. It all just then gets absorbed into the ground.
Check your local laws it is just like a septic system you can use gray or black water everything gets pulverized with the gray and black water and blows through the holes and dissipates.
Check your local laws it would be just like an old house. Does work. Obviously you don’t know anything about Septic Systems or how they work. While the water is running through the hose into the Dump Bucket you can smell it within a minute or two no snow it’s all underground. And I don’t look for clicks I just help people out.
It is legal depending where your at! And this type of system has been in place long before current septic systems and does not smell if covered with the appropriate amount of dirt!
Check your local laws. Works fantastically it’s been tried and proven customers love it. No smell just like a septic system in your own backyard it’s all underground. Click bait don’t need it.
Also I would think y'all should be using something like "happy camper holding tank treatment" which removes the smell anyways. Each treatment is only like 75 cents and treats 40 gallons. Why would you smell crap to save 75 cents?!
Huh??? What about the solids?????

Can I make it deeper, or should I keep it shallow? Where do you get the RV dump bucket?
Wanting to use a 55 gallon drum for shed conversion hope this solves my issues
do it right you can use it for a very long time
How often do you use the RV restroom/shower/sink, etc.? What kind of use could this support? Can you use the restroom freely? (i.e. pooo)
Yes you can use the restroom Fraley. I have customers that use this very same bucket for an Airbnb once a week he will dump a couple hundred gallons gray and black water through it. Works fine
@@briansimpson5409so u can empty black tank in here to? The waste
Any size stone bigger than the holes in the dump bucket
and when it pours down heavy rain, it over flows and stink to high heaven.
When installed correctly this is never an issue.

I dont care what you put in your tank, there is always a smell.
What kind of rock used and what are other recommendations for rock?
Recommended is one and a half inch holes in the bucket so you want to have rock this 2 inches or better. So I don't get stuck in the bucket
When you say "tile" do you mean that pipe? I'm confused.
Yes he means the drain line when he says tile. Farmers that are draining their fields use the word tile because the drain lines used to be big clay tiles the water could flow through like a pipe.
Good reply Home Depot 4 inch corrugated perforated tile.
what is the adaptor you are putting on the tank for an inlet? thanks!
just have to Go to your local RV store and you can get an adapter for it.

How's it been working? And any odors longterm?
it's been going great the only slight smell you do indicate is when you open up the gray in a black water and you have the air forcing through the line into the bucket as soon as that's done the smell goes away instantly.
Where does the toilet paper and poo go? Is this just for shower water and pee?

Need a good treatment RV Digest It works extremely well. I've used Happy Camper before as well but I like RV DigestIt treatment pods or liquid form.

A hole in the ground with som plywood over it would be better
Where do you get the bucket? Do you have a link?
Run of the mill water tank, I think 13 gallons.

What do I use to put my sewer line onto the lid? Is there adapter to put in a cut hole?
Yes you just have to go to the local RV store and you can find adapters for that.
😂😂
WTF!!!
Definitely not legal. Won't work. The smell will be horrible, but good job for the click bait to get views.
