Brilliant ❤ - and I love that Morfydd has made Galadriel her own and not tried to emulate Cate Blanchett on the show as its set at a different age and she must learn to become the Lady of Light which I think Morfydd is doing a great job at.
I thought the same thing. Thousands of years can alter one’s personality. Shoot. I’m not the same person I was 20 years ago. She wasn’t a mother at this point either. She was idealistic and a warrior. And the people around you make a difference as well. I imagine when Sauron gives you his full attention, he can be incredibly persuasive. Having him so close would be maddening. Think of the ultimate narcissist. You literally have to be Galadriel to get that close to darkness and not fall.
I am rewatching the series. I wasn't overly happy on the first viewing, but I realise now that I was allowing my experience with the LOR films and the booksto cloud my judgment. I am already enjoying the series much more and I'm only into episode 3 of season one! And I don't gind Gladriel half as annoting as I did before. I think it's great to watch this journey and to see how she could have been a warrior and how her path led her to become the wise Elf of LOR fame.

Celeborn will be back in season 3. Finrod on the other hand symbolizes the events and the tragedy of the First Age as a whole and he symbolizes Galadriel's many losses during the First Age. That makes sense, because 99% of the audience has absolutely no idea about the history of Middle-earth. Finrod gives them an idea of a time long past without long explanations needed.

Solid edit. Not a big fan of her performance or the characterisation by injecting a lot of contemporary notions instead of being more its own world or archaic like myth is suppose to be with the world or higher beings being representatives of the inner turmoil
