great vid. Question. I have 4 Halo lights right now and purchased a 6 box set to add more. can I add all 6 for a total of 10 or is there a limit per light switch? Thanks
Just did this and only thing I wish my kit had was a foam gasket just to help better air seal.

I bought those exact same light , except the old ones are the 2 pin fluorescent bulbs . What do I need to do to make the new ones work ? Re wire ? Thanks

I have 4 recess led lights and hear a buzz when they are on. I tried changing the switch but with no result as buzz is still there. What advice can you give me? Thank you

Hello, thank you for the video! After installing these LED lights, I have a "humming" noise when i turn them on to full power. I have 3 cans on 1 dimmer; and when that dimmer it low, no noise, but when full power, humming. I did not have that problem with my 60 watt canned bulbs. Any idea?
Hey you’re welcome! First thing I would check is your dimmer switch. It may not be compatible with dimmable LED lights.

I just bought a zillion or so 2700k lights for my basement, but have 5000k (switchable) LED wafer lights in my kitchen and dining room. I have a dimmer on there for softer light, but we like the daylight for the kitchen.
Yeah the higher kelvin level is definitely ideal in the kitchen, helps to see better what you are doing and keep things clean! Glad to hear you found the combination of lighting that you like and works for you! Thanks for the feedback!
Is there a video on replacing 4 pin florescent with these bypassing the ballasts?

What do you do if the area where the original fixture was has wires instead of the part where you can screw in the the led recessed light?
I have lytecaster 1176 cans, which don't hold clips. Can I remove the cans and the bulb socket from the cans and use the kind of retrofit lights with tabs (to grab the edge of the holes in the ceiling drywall) and connect the pigtail to the socket? Is it safe to install the light without using any can at all? Does the socket/pigtail gets hot once connected and powered?
Yes you could do that and that is actually a really popular option. I recently installed them in a office and they worked great! I would say the socket gets pretty warm but I would not say hot. All relative to who you ask I suppose. Hope this helps!
@@HowToHomeDIY Some advice that electrical connections must be enclosed by a junction box to protect it from fire. In this case, the connection is made by screwing the pig tail into the light bulb socket. I am just not sure how safe this is
You’re going to have to check with your local code and make that call for yourself. Most of the clip in leds that I have seen come with a junction box that gets wired into directly. A junction box will more than likely be required. I wish I could help you decide but I am not an electrician and this video and channel are for entertainment purposes only.

What happens if i have no hooks in the Can ? Can’t get light to stay in

When the light goes out, how do you change it?
You would just remove the whole light housing and install a new one. The bulbs inside aren’t made to be replaced like you would a regular light bulb. Hope this helps!

Quite frankly, I might see a point when you don't have anything. But you had old-style can lights that were having replaceable bulbs. Why didn't you simply suggest to replace the lightbulb with a LED light bulb instead of donwgrading your fixture to one that will have to be scrapped when the LEDs fail?
