5:08 It's not out yet, but there's an open world pixel art game coming to PC and Switch called "Chef RPG" that has locations inspired from Ghibli movies. It's basically like Stardew Valley, except you travel around more openly and create restaurants.

The family and marriage and passing of time storyline alone is worth it!
Spiritfarer is so great. Kinda like Stardew Valley but with platforming. Love the Danganronpa series too; if you haven't tried the Zero Escape trilogy, it's totally worth it!

Ai: The Somnium Files is so good. Really good story, mixed with some (imo) really good humor. I personally burst out laughing whenever Date heard the mention of lewd magazines.
My top tier switch games are normally third party, but if I could give you a recommendation, I would try monster hunter stories 2. It's a very nice and long game, which you can play without losing interest for a pretty long time. Monster hunter stories 2 don't belong to the main line of Monster hunter, but is a very good side game which use the game mechanics in his own special , but well made way.
Great list, some of these seem super and interesting and will probably end up on the wishlist! Obviously games like smash bros and mario kart are fun but I just don’t have the same emotional attachment to them as some story games. Xenoblade DE is probably my go to favorite game on switch! It was my first Xenoblade game, and I first picked it up right at the start of quarantine, so I really had the chance to just get absolutely lost in the beautiful world and amazing music it had! Also, while I didn’t like the 2nd one as much, I’m absolutely HYPED for Xenoblade 3 coming in July! If you’ve got a hundred hours to spare I’d suggest it for the world and music alone!
I played Final Fantasy X on ps3 years ago, I remember getting really immersed in the game and the story. One of the first games that made me feel like I was part of the world and made me think about it even when I wasn't playing it.

I must've been about 24 or so (I'm thinking it was 2002 when it came out off the top of my head) when I played FFX and I remember the difference in graphics between it and the PS1 era FF games blew my mind at the time, although I could never get into the whole Blitzball thing. I practically ignored it entirely. I can't recall if you ever had to play it in the main story or not, but I remember absolutely hating that part of the game. It also has one of the most notoriously cringy cutscenes in all of video game history, but other than that the story and characters were very memorable and charming and the gameplay was top notch. DQVIII was also fantastic and I'm looking forward to playing DQXI sometime soon!

FFX was my all time favorite games from childhood. Really connected with the whole story. I've played it through maybe 5 or 6 times. People love to rip on Tidus's whining but overall I loved that game.

great picks! still have some of these on my list to play through. I've had Octopath for maybe two years but haven't beaten it yet. that and breathe of the wild have been super slow burns for me. bought Bravely Default and SMT V physical but it will be ages till i get to them. There is so much to play but currently trying to get through RE3 Remake and FF-XIII on PC in which i play maybe an hour or two at a time. just gotta be in the right mood for some of them, for me at least.
@@catplantASMR indeed. I believe the longest play through that I remember is having a lil over 200 hrs in Tales of Symphonia on GameCube. Loved it so much back then. Never beat the Hell book dungeon though. Cheers to enjoying many more and catching up on old classics, as well as under appreciated ones. ☺️
One switch port you should DEFINITELY check out, is Okami! It's a Zelda-like adventure game set in Edo era Japan, based on Japanese mythology. The games art style is one of a kind, and characters are super memorable. If you like my avatar, then you might like Okami ❤

Yeah SMT V was definitely one of my top ones as of late, Metroid Dread was really close though! Of course DQXI being a honorable mention :) You should consider re-visiting SMT IV if you can get a copy and a 3DS since you liked SMT V a lot, still has a lot of the same mechanics and fundamentals from V but it has smirk instead of the Magatsuhi gauge. The setting and even story is definitely a lot more interesting out of most of the SMTs but it does have its limits being on a handheld. A lot more cyberpunky though! It also has some of my favorite tracks from a SMT game to date, good bangers.
Im a sega/ Nintendo fanboy so my taste is pretty common however my faves in order from 1rst to 5th is Super Mario Bros Wonder, Super Mario Odyssey, Luigi's mansion 3, Sonic Mania, and sonic Superstars
tokyo mirage sessions, octopath and eastward were in my top 10 the year they released, great choices (played TMS again on switch). got some sylvando love there, the guy who carries DQ XI. which characters didn't you like in octopath? can't wait for the sequel for ai this month!

I finally got round to and started playing SMT V recently! I'm loving it actually, I didn't expect to be enjoying the exploration aspect as much as I am. The demons have so much personality too. Tokyo mirage is also one I enjoyed back on the Wii U, it was so cheerful and colourful that it was honestly my top 3 games on that system alongside BotW and Splatoon. Persona 4 was my first Atlus game. I hope you enjoy it! It holds fond memories for me, playing it on my PS2 over the school summer holidays on a CRT tv. I never realized a game could take me to the emotional high and lows that P4 did. I've been a fan of Atlus ever since, and I'm quite looking forward to Soul Hackers 2 later this year! I need to play AI: Somnium Files, it looks really interesting. I started playing World End Syndrome recently for when I need a break from the challenge of SMT V and I think you might like it. There's this horror in a coastal Japanese town vibe to it, and it has decent production for a visual novel, like animated backgrounds and good UI. Loved the video 👍 x
oh you're in for a treat with SMTV! It's such a blast from start to finish. Oh and Persona 4 is wonderful so far i'm like 15 hours into it or so. I'm glad I finally got around to playing it. Also I highly recommend playing AI: Somnium Files. also I have World End Syndrome but I haven't played it yet but gotta get around to it :)!

I finally got round to and started playing SMT V recently! I'm loving it actually, I didn't expect to be enjoying the exploration aspect as much as I am. The demons have so much personality too. Tokyo mirage is also one I enjoyed back on the Wii U, it was so cheerful and colourful that it was honestly my top 3 games on that system alongside BotW and Splatoon.
Persona 4 was my first Atlus game. I hope you enjoy it! It holds fond memories for me, playing it on my PS2 over the school summer holidays on a CRT tv. I never realized a game could take me to the emotional high and lows that P4 did. I've been a fan of Atlus ever since, and I'm quite looking forward to Soul Hackers 2 later this year!
I need to play AI: Somnium Files, it looks really interesting. I started playing World End Syndrome recently for when I need a break from the challenge of SMT V and I think you might like it. There's this horror in a coastal Japanese town vibe to it, and it has decent production for a visual novel, like animated backgrounds and good UI.

oh you're in for a treat with SMTV! It's such a blast from start to finish. Oh and Persona 4 is wonderful so far i'm like 15 hours into it or so. I'm glad I finally got around to playing it. Also I highly recommend playing AI: Somnium Files. also I have World End Syndrome but I haven't played it yet but gotta get around to it :)!

Astral Chain I feel is an overlooked game a lot of people sleep on. The combat is amazing and the story isn't bad either I think it's great
I really want to play this game it looks so so much fun! it's def on my top list of games to play next :)
My favorite is one that I didn't even play on switch being Death's Door.
