I've owned a few of these bikes 2001 2005 2007 the three years of varadero I have owned absolute bulletproof bike overall PS easiest way to say it split it into two parts vara - dero varadero
hi guys i was searching for a video to watch and typed 'honda varadero 125cc restoration' and oh you are the fourth on the search list, well it might not be so important but i was pleased...
That's good John, at the moment I don't get many views on my vids normally between 3 and 400 but most of them view are you guys and that's what's most important. I've finally solved the varadero carbs yesterday (I think), so it will be ready for its not very soon. Also I'm due that last bush today for the cafe so that should be good to go. Thanks mate
@@motorcyclerescuer Think we both know how that carb will turn out i'll keep my fingers crossed for you anyways lol. Wouldn't mind giving a hand bud but Morecambe is waaaay to far from London. Keep up the great work👍
@@motorcyclerescuer where 2 pipes go air cut off unit at top brass right at bottom I see it on you video but see where small pipe goes it also called air injections unit

Hi i have the same honda varadero 125 2007 bike when i open the throttle it bogs at 2k rpm after that it seems fine i have change the oil + filter sparks plugs air filter is this a carb issue? any help would be great
Hi Yegs, that's the issue I'm left with on mine. My guess is the carbs need cleaning and the air/fuel screws re setting. It's pretty complex on these bikes but can be done
Looks like a mini BMW gs with the front fairing off lol. Hope you smothered the ignition barrel in wd40 Charlie. You really need to assess the wiring asap ie put a source of electricity through it and see if you get any life, otherwise stripping carbs etc is pointless as it won't run and you've just wasted your time/effort. I've heard that old chains can be saved by giving them a good clean & then soak them in an oil bath for 24hrs. As for the sprocket set inspect it first & then decide. Those carbs are definitely something else lol . Going to test your skills this one mate 👍
The carb loosened up a touch today, can definitely put some power and fuel through tomorrow and see if it fires. I'm confident enough that the power will be OK as the owner said it started and ran a year ago, only problem would be if mice/rats bit wires but there should be obvious signs. I'll hook it up tomorrow and let you see mate.
Hi Jon, Gary is coming down to help with the bobber projet possibly Tuesday next week. I'll arrange a day with him and your welcome to come. That's how I first met Nat from Nats Knackers yard. If your kit watching him jump on and sub.

Never be disheartened by your bike matey just think of the end result 😎😀
It came out nice in the end. It needed new carbs before it would run well.
Thanks for watching.

Tracker bike? Flat bars, twin spot headlamp and semi off road tyres? Cammo paint job.
Could be great actually, it has that look. Need to sort carbs first. That first butterfly valve is solid. I'm hoping it eases up over night.
Thanks

@@dboyyarris4811 thanks dude. May have eased up overnight if I'm lucky.
Hi there on xl 125 air cut off brass pipe at bottom where does it to
Brass pipe? They are either coolant pipes, fuel spill overflow pipes or fuel pipes. It may just need to hang down.

expansion bottle can be replaced with a small metal water bottle.
Oh really, and just put the pipes through the top? I could get a fake nos bottle or something.
Thanks for the tip.
🏍👍👍👍
Cheers Stephen.
Look better to make it a supermoto . Good luck 👍🔧
What would I do to make it more supermoto? Off road tyres?
motorcycle rescuer is how far you won’t to go with it . Just put a motor cross head light on it. And some sticky road tyres on.
