  • hi guys, if this video helps you out at all or you just enjoy watching then please feel free to tip enough to get a hot drink. The channel does cost a fair few pound to run so all tips would go towards continuing the vids and making them better.
    thanks

    In part 3 of the varadero project I fully remove the carbs and give them a good clean. They are caked big time and fuel wasn't getting into the first carb. Hopefully the bike will fire up tomorrow. If it does it will need an oil drop and change before doing anything else. If the bike then selects gears, runs and sounds ok it will be time for some cleaning and beautifying as well as creating a basic street fighter.

      i absolutely agree, watched this Varadero series before taking apart my own to clean the carbs and it was nice to see one apart and back together before attempting it on my own

      @@motorcyclerescuer yeah it was quite intense for a first time project for me LOL, my pilot jets needed a clean and i had to fix my idle adjust cable, still haven't quite got it running right but im getting there. Thanks

      @mouse5871 I bought a new set of carbs for mine in the end. I just couldn't get my set to work

    I had to revive Yamaha Virago 125 as carb was over 20 years old, used repair kit from aliexpress for 20 quid with delivery within 4 days, starts and drives like dream now.

      Yeh I may need to do a full carb kit in the end, for now though I just need to see if it runs at all and selects all gears. If it does then I will consider doing more to the bike.
      Ideally I would build it back to a proper varadero but the panels are just to expensive so I'm going to have to fighter it.

    you know that not removable smaller jet looking thing, how do you clean that and is that a jet at all ?

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can spray some carb cleaner through it to clean it out. It won't hurt to do so. These carbs are complex though and need properly setting up.

    Do you still have the bike? We have one that runs fine but that pipe you say is a overflow / goes no where is sucking air / vacuum. is that correct?

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No its long gone.
      The overflow shouldn't be sucking air. If its a vacuum then it will need to be part of the vacuum system or blocked off.
      Hope this helps

      @@killerconsoles517 they are a little complex to set up and they shouldn't be balanced properly they are ment to have a discrepancy in the balance.

    • @killerconsoles517

      @@motorcyclerescuer Cheers gonna remove them and and give them a clean, reason I found a "vacuum leak" is I went to check the carb balancing, The front carb is the base so can't be set but the rear is adjusted to be lower than the front due to jet size ect.
      But the front cylinder has hardly any vacuum while the rear seems to be in the ball park.
