GOOOAATTT, literally ordered a radiator from ECS running god damn thing didn't come with sensor I just sent it back. the other day I was driving with my girl and the temp dropped almost all the way to cold then went back to normal temp I thought I was trippin UNTIL I SAW THIS VIDEO! I appreciate you brotha
Thank you! I’m happy as hell to hear my video helped someone! 😁 The waterpumps definitely have a pretty shitty design unfortunately, I guess it’s job security for the techs. 😂 if you need any other help, let me know. I’d be glad to help. 😁
Thanks for sharing this! Appreciate you. Time to do my first water pump replacement on my 2012 CBFA @ almost 60k miles. Guess it's time to carbon clean too. My glove box pulls the same garbage lol. Just FYI, my car does not overheat. I am speculating that it's just the internal thermostat and the water pump itself is fine. I can autocross it on a hot day and it won't overheat.
Weird "video production guy" comment here, but I dig your color grading. Also, fellow MK6 owner here, super helpful content. I have this stupid fucking code too. Great job dude!
So my car just threw this code. It overheated last week and turned out it just needed coolant. I am wondering if that was connected to this. Can you give me a list of exactly what parts I should look at and consider replacing?
I'm on the mk6 owners group as well. Small world. Anyhow you can use a ccta water pump on a cbfa engine, you just have to have your tuner remove the CEL. I had to to that when I switched to a graf water pump on my cbfa
I had the water pump changed in the summer on my mark 6 but now I got something where if it is running a while the temp sensor goes off on the dash and won't turn off till I turn the car off.Its weird cause it didn't start till I changed the coolant resevoir for a dorman tank from advance auto.
Crazy I'm getting a check engine light - which isn't allowing me to pass a smog check here in California I don't know what it is - I gave a new water pump w the sensor- anyway appreciate your post I'm probably late to the game ... I am loosing my mind on it ... we just don't have control over all this - it sucks that doing it yourself can be so rewarding yet it keeps leading to shit like this - get more parts
I have this code without any leeks or issues anywhere but this did started after I took a turn fairly quickly and I got low oil pressure on the dash for like 5 seconds then it went away, I guess I’ll start with replacing the thermostat
What’s up bro! I actually follow you on IG! 😁 I’d definitely be down to cruise sometime. Unfortunately I had to part ways with my mk6 because the piston rings went bad, but I ended up getting a mk7. If you have a CCTA engine, I can hook you up with an upgraded aluminum waterpump. I’ve had it for a year, can’t do anything with it since I don’t have the Mk6 anymore. 😆
I have a mk5 2.0 tsi with mysterious loss of coolant, had to top off twice within 2 months bc it went below minimum . And recently just got the code p2568 and p0171, could this be connected to what you’re talking about ?
My GTI mk6 is doing that it over heats but it over flows at the reservoir I lose all coolant it doesn't happen all the time but it takes a long time for the temp gage to start moving and temp gage don't go over temp when it over heats
Would I be able to bother you for a conversation outside of the comments section on here? I am having this code and being told to change my radiator sensor/aka my radiator. I do not feel reassured it is not the water pump, though the mechanic told me it is not a concern. Just was wondering how to go about having it replaced anyways, depending on if it is not under warranty anymore (126k) and or if my mechanic says it is not a problem. 2011 gti, DSG, not sure if it is CBFA or CCTA; it has a tune on it from the previous owner. Reflash Stratified Tune V1.00 LEC... Anywho, would love to get your perspective.
Hey this code just popped up on my 6. Having that issue where the car does mark me at warmed up. But as soon as I hit the highway 5 min after temp drops. Wtf do I switch out?
Thanks for the video I got the code so I’m about change the water pump I’ll subscribe to your page thanks again because I didn’t know there was two different water pump One with the sensor and one without think mine use the sensor if not like you said I won’t plug it in

I'm getting this code on a 2011 C-class. Do you think the water pump is likely the problem even though it is a different car?
I just found this ... years later ... and I can relate...

I'm on the east side of T-town. Should meet up. Also, awesome info. Just got this code today, checked it with the cobb and sure nuff, this is it.

I hate planned obsolescence!

Hey bro i have that code but i dont have ANY issues with the car whatsoever. Where should i start ?
Did you find a solution? I just threw this code today and also have zero issues with the car,.
@@10eherma Hey bro, yes I fixed it ! It’s your water pump ! Make sure you get it for your engine CBFA !
@@Makitoz274alright good deal I’ll get this done as well. Thank you for the reply!!!
I just got this code after I replaced my water pump. Any thoughts on that?
