    Smooth picking Rich.
    I just bought some key blanks for our push key pancake locks. If you're still trying to get yours keyed, you can send them to me and I'll pick them and make a key for them for you. I also bought some vintage Yale key blanks so i can make keys for our Yale lever tumblr locks. Just pay postage and it's done. ;-)

      Hello Kai, thanks for watching and for the great comment. The pick in the video is a custom made pick. A great TH-camr made it for me years ago. It is an amazing pick and I often pick it up first to try on a lock. Thanks again for viewing and commenting my friend. Stay safe Brother 👍👍

    Made a Home made pick, When I put in my pick it hocks on something very stiff and doesn't move ?

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You maybe pushing on one of the wards in the lock, instead of pins. You may also be pushing pick far to the back. What did you make the pick from and also, is it a short hook, medium etc?

    • @thelostadventurer4684

      @@waddac2 Windsheild wipers, I figured i watched another video that explained the ward parts. I actually got it once after 20 times. I need more practice gonna buy a lock and practice.

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thelostadventurer4684 If you windshield wiper pick can fit it keyway and you can tickle the pick tip over the pins, then that is great. Just try not over tension the lock while picking it because too much tension can bind pins on sheer line too, meaning each pin will feel very stiff and tight. Good luck with the picking Travis and keep me informed as to how you are getting on. All the best.

      Thanks for watching buddy. The end music is from a 1980's favourite film of mine called "Who Dares Wins" based on a true story when the SAS had to raid the Iranian embassy in London when Terrorist hijacked it and wanted demands from British government. The SAS were on standby and were called in as they were killing hostages.

    That key way looks similar to a lock on my commercial building front. Glass store front doors with aluminum frame doors. Probably from the 80’s I can’t seem to pick it... not even the locksmith. He wouldn’t even try... said it had to be broken... so I refused and have been working to open it on my spare time.... It swings a laminated hook upward an into a catch on the frame or another door when it’s applicable... It’s a lock common to the strip malls built in the 80’s

      Standard Yale Keyway....... ANY LOCKSMITH SHOULD KNOW THIS KEYWAY!!!!!!!!!!

    • @thespiritof76..
      @thespiritof76.. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine doesn’t say Yale on it.. It has a cam locking mechanism, in as much as it doesn’t have a bolt that travels East to west... but a Laminated steel arm that swings clockwise... Does that y’all on video lock the same?

      Btw i sums there are many lock smiths in business now a days that don’t know much about picking... In my 43yrs every locksmith I ever hired used a drill and made sure to inform that if you don’t drill in precise location your whole door may have to be replaced

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am just a lock sporter, but have had contact with a few lock smiths who have given me snapped euro locks or 5 lever curtained mortice locks as they just dump them after, but great use for me to pick. A few I have spoken with state that they will just drill a lock to save time, then charge customer for that time and then say... "I can fit you a new lock too" they then charge an arm and a leg for the lock and then time to fit. Pending on how well the lock smith has made money on that day, he/she can charge what they want and customer will pay as not wanting to have a door with no lock at all.
      I have, however met lock smiths who will use picking tools and pick or rake the lock open, change the lock and charge a very good price.
