Nice to see the progression. I’ve just purchased my first lock picking set (sparrow) and euro locks would be easier to practice on as I live in Norway and they would be cheaper to acquire.

Just purchased my first beginners set, waiting for delivery 🤔got bored two months ago and got hooked on watching your Videos. Got hooked on the hobie and made a very very low grade single pick and tension bar..
So far 4 out of 5 locks I've acquired I've managed to pick. 3 had key's 🤷🏼‍♂️ unfortunately/fortunately the one I can't get YET😉 I lock the four locks back to and start the next Day.
Thank you for my new hobie

6:18am I am almost ready to head off to work when my phone pings. My friend had been on an early bike ride and arriving home realised he had lost his front door key. His text asked if I had his spare key. Yes I said and headed to his which was only 6 mins away.
On arrival I realised the key didn't fit, it was a key to an earlier euro lock which he had changed. Out came the jacknife and 15 seconds later the door was open. Thankfully a snake rake did the job easily as I didn't have time to try spp. He was amazed and couldn't believe after only 4 months of playing with locks I was able to open his door.
Shhhhhh he thinks I am amazing, it would appear his front door lock ain't that good.
I did say if he ever has difficulty with his piggy bank to give me a call.
    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
P.S. He now has several spare keys.

Do all of these euro cylinders have overmilling or countermilling?
The abus c83 is the only one I managed to get an open on becuase of the spool pins and the good feedback. That happened once and then never again 😂
I tried to open 8 cylinders including japanese ones and many of them have pins that get stuck.
I tried to look into float picking to set those pins, which kind of helped pick those pins but I couldn't get an open.

I noticed the cam turned when you finally picked it. How would the cam turn with no key inside the core to engage the butterfly for that side ?? Ironically, I picked a Yale myself and was able to use my finger to push on the cam instead of using a tension tool...but I don't know how it could've worked, yet it did :)))

Hi Locknoob, my name is Ryan and I have been interested in Locksport for many years and I have always had homemade lock picks and those can be hard to use if they are not made well but over time I have gotten better at fabricating my own lock picking tools but I just ordered my very first lock picking tools set from Sparrows and I'm looking forward to receiving the classic lock pick set from Sparrows and really look forward to seeing the difference between the professional locksmith tools vs my homemade lock picking tools. I like your video's and I did subscribe to your channel a while back.

Wouldn't it be way better to rotate it the correct way, so it is way easier to differentiate between set pins and overset pins? When it's like I'd guess that you can't quite tell if the key pins are loose or not.

How hard would it be to pick a ERA FORTRESS 3* DOUBLE EURO PROFILE Cylinders lock.

  • @Reman1975
    @Reman1975 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I once bought a ludicrously cheap Yale euro cylinder from B&Q. Apparently a shoplifter had ripped it out of it's packaging but got stopped before they left. As B&Q didn't know exactly what lock it was they just bagged up all the pieces and dumped this brand new name brand lock in the "reduced" section for £3 !!! (Couldn't pass THAT up could I).
It was only after I got it home and started trying to pick it that it dawned on me that a shoplifter isn't going to be nicking something from the bottom of the range are they. This thing was feckin' impossible !!!!
Its a 6 pin lock that had spools in ALL of them. It also has a bitch of a keyway with a couple of tiny ledges in the profile that are half way up the travel of the pins. My picks hang up on these constantly and made this a total impossible lock for me to pick. On top of all that, the bitting was evil.
In the end I just chopped it into 2, Yanked the core from one, Then rebuilt it with plain pins all the way through. With that keyway it's enough of a challenge without the bloody spools in every position (And as a nice bonus, I now have a ...... [AHEM]...... "Matched pair" of locks to challenge one of my friends with at some point. LOL !).
