Would backpackers survive a bugout situation? This video talks about 5 skills most backpackers would possess if an emergency situation (WW3, Disasters, etc).
During a Zombie Apocalypse, you don't need to be faster than the zombie, just faster than the person next to you. So the lighter gear and trekking poles would help shove little Billy with his overloaded JanSport backpack.
That cowboy hat 😁😁 I’m so spoiled with the iPhone App maps. Enjoyed the video my friend. I agree most people wouldn’t have a water filter in their home
Hey, Buckley. I really enjoyed this. There definitely is a lot of overlap between the different disciplines. Over the years, people have asked me, "what are you? Prepper? Survivalist? Bushcrafter? Homesteader?" I'm like, I'm a day hiker that has some survival skills cause I'm also that dude that is most likely to get lost and end up as a short news story. Thanks for sharing, brother!
Haha brilliant 😂. Bring on the zombie apocalypse 😮 🧟♂️. Good point on the water filter, those things would be like gold dust if it all went off! Great video 👌
Hiking with a pack is a great way to get into shape! Just got into backpacking and keeping training. Rather be ready, than sitting in house waiting for someone to help me
Being a backpacker we also have backpack with camping gear ready to go at a moments notice. And hopefully a good supply of freeze dried foods. Always be prepared is a good motto.
Nice! But four and five are most people who camp and practice outdoors. Otherwise.. seems solid. I agree about Daylight savings.. it's no longer needed. Get rid of it already. Thanks for the video brother
Interesting topic. I think about this from time to time and how these skills translate over to survival. Not necessarily fully and doesn’t cover everything but it’s a step or 7 in the right direction. Changing the clocks like this is dumb. Just saying. lol 👍
@@BackpackingwithBuckley about an hour west of Chicago. I've been to the Yellow River area several times that you've had on videos a couple times. Otherwise I have to travel a few hours to find something decent. At least. Illinois is probably the worst state for this hobby.
@BackpackingwithBuckley man that whole Era the grunge rock anti establishment scene was something you just had to be there truly miss those pre technology days 😢

Facts! My friends keep telling me I am their first emergency call when the sh!t goes down. I laugh and tell them, good luck finding me...

My buddy walks the treadmill with a weighted vest. I've always thought that would be a good way to train too.

We'd make it at least a week or two right, Boop? 🤣
@@BackpackingwithBuckley oh yeah, we could probably survive for a few weeks. Until the beef Jerky runs out at least.
Nice video man. I have always thought about what I could use in all of my backpacking gear. I think I will be ok.
It can't hurt right man?

Hey Dan! I wanted to pick something we can all agree on....more daylight!
Turdly...I think that's the expression you were looking for.
Water is essential because it's ingredient #2 for making coffee.
Yes Doc!! Turdy is exactly the word I was looking for!
I will survive hey hey... Good video buddy!

You forgot to mention cannibalism. A skill most people will need when TSHTF.
Well then. Haha. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.
I like where your head's at, haha. Stay safe out there.
I'm finding you if it all goes down. You will have all the tasty meats!

DOWN WITH DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME!!! true story the "wolverines" where all avid backpackers
As in Red Dawn? They defeated an entire army so considering we get some firepower, we are golden!
