    Yungtown proves once again he is steps above other rappers who utilize gaming or media as their topic. No one else in this area has delivered such sick word play with such conviction and personal emotional investment. It's like he says in his "COD Rap". Other media creators just try to string along as many puns as they can while hiding their subpar creativity with the facade of humor. But here, we have a piece of work that just shouts "this is Yungtown". Not even an ounce of pandering through cheap reference or joke. Pure originality and creativity without comparison.

Not in the sense that you've capped off in terms of creativity, but in the sense that this radiates of your authenticity and potential in future high-quality works. It's really refreshing.

  • @L33PL4Y

    HOLY FUCKING SHIT. This was POWERFUL, dude. At first I was like "psh he looks so serious, this is a rap about a fuckin' fantasy game with fairies and shit bro come on, taking this too seriously," and by the end I couldn't even pretend to fight against the passion oozing off you. It ignited me and you won against my judgment with the sheer force of your lyrics and delivery. It even started into social commentary that proves true in the real world, not just Zelda. That's what really fucking hit me, the shit about power and politics and corruption. Boom, I was floored. I LOVE that you're including footage of you actually rapping it now, because not only can we see for ourselves that you're not speeding things up and that you can legitimately rap that fast and that smoothly without edits, but the constant eye contact and watching you move with the passion of the flow just really fucking slays; it's infectious. This is my favorite format you've ever used for your rap videos. Keep doing this kind of thing. Amazing work, truly. You turned me from a skeptic to a believer in three minutes.

  • @ShermTank7272
    @ShermTank7272 9 ปีที่แล้ว +131

    This is amazing. Not only was each verse talking about it's respective virtue, but the way you rapped it felt like that virtue as well. Wisdom was reserved, calm, focusing on the literary/poetic meaning of each line. Courage was faster, more prone to messing up with its speed, but with the confidence to not worry about it and press on. Power was angry, dominating, and significantly louder than the other two pieces. I've rarely heard of lyrical songs that can pull off this meaning through its delivery as well as its words.
    In short, that was epic.

    • @ShermTank7272
      @ShermTank7272 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Wow I just read the description of this video for the first time. Amazing. You were able to convey that message through the lyrics without even needing to say that explicitly. You are a talented lyricist.

    This Blows the Smosh zelda rap out of the water for two reasons.
    A: Actual legitimate rap, not 'oh it rhyms, that makes it rap right?'
    B: Notice how there's no swears? Yeah, that's awesome, swears don't automatically = rap.
    C: I know I know, this is 'hip hop' but the pacing and speed of the song remind me more of Rap.

    • @Volt790
      @Volt790 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      To be fair, I'm pretty sure Smosh's Rap was more comedy with the laughs you can make while yungtown's is more Serious with the heart you can feel.

    • @TheGamingTurret
      @TheGamingTurret 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Volt790 It's more forced comedy though, everything smosh does seems a bit forced to be honest (other than their earlier stuff) comedy rap that isn't forced is more along the lines of Nerd VS Geek.

    • @WarriorMasterTrainer
      @WarriorMasterTrainer 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheGamingTurret They weren't being serious at all with their rap, it's for comedic purposes.

    • @TheGamingTurret
      @TheGamingTurret 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monachus Bibe still at least some idea of how the genre works is needed even to get comedy right THIS was an actual rap about zelda, no more no less, or rather the triforce pieces

    • @WarriorMasterTrainer
      @WarriorMasterTrainer 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      TheGamingTurret Yes, but it wasn't Smosh's intention to make an "actual rap" or a serious rap, it's all in good fun, was just to make some laughs.

    YOOOOO! This is one of the rare songs that blends theme with technical skill. Loved the changes in pace and word useage for the three distinct parts. Zelda = Wisdom = Smooth, very steady rhythm and flow with relatively few inflections in pitch. The words and bars blend together smoothly, in an almost calculated fashion. Demonstrating a pure control over what is said. Link = Courage = Slightly erratic, yet still smooth pacing and stops/starts. It plays out like the rap version of a sword fight. Smooth, steady, patient pauses interrupted by sudden bursts of pure intensity. Yet, always under control. Ganondorf = Power = Fewer words per bar, but each one more impactful. Said with a much harsher, rougher tone. Each word said with force. Never out of control, but definitely the most forceful of the three.
    One of the most underrated songs on YT.

      +Arkatox I dunno,this one just excels. Notice how, with each Triforce piece, the tone of his voice and the tempo changes. Wisdom is calm, courage is in your face, up close, and power is dominant, emotionally-charged.

    Dear Luke, if you’re reading this please know that I really miss you man. I’ve been a long time sub and your music really helped me through a hard time in my life when my mom got diagnosed with cancer. And for that I can never thank you enough. Whether you know it or not you truly have an impact on peoples lives and you ultimately might’ve saved mine all because your sick beats and rhymes helped distract me from the shitty world around me. I really wish the best for you man even if you’re done with TH-cam and if nothing else try to let you know that what you do does matter more than you may think.

    Listened to this so many times. But it's cool how wisdom is slow methodical and soft spoken, courage rushes with speed almost tripping on his own words, power you can hear punch with every verse

    The fact that each triforce has a different style to it-
    Wisdom as flourishing wordy rap
    Courage as a more energetic fast rap
    Power hits *every* word hard.
    Just fantastic.

  • @TopManLoader
    @TopManLoader 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    You embodied each aspect of the Triforce so well - the transition into Power was my favourite part, your bars sounded explosive and destructive, just like a certain Power-crazed maniac. Fantastic job Yung.

    One of the many things I love about this video is the raw power and passion he puts into every single line.
    It just blows my mind, in that it's almost ferocious how he manages to deliver each verse/piece of the Triforce with the rhythm and pattern you'd expect from the piece and character related to it.
    I mean, Wisdom is rather laid back and intricate in it's rhymes, Courage is pretty straight to the point and doesn't really mess around, and finally Power is just raw emotion.
    10/10.

    *Picture with me a Zelda spinoff where the tables were turned.*
    Where wisdom or courage are the problem. Or both. Where Wisdom holds with it the conceit that all others are fools, sheep to be governed and controlled. Where the populace is believed too stupid to live for themselves. Where Courage carries forth it's antithesis, fear. Where those above can take the will of those below through their own shows of fearless dominance. And the hero/ine is a figure who breaks the mould, purely through something pure as power. Power to break the unbreakable will, to touch the untouchable knowledge. Where the one who will save the people has to realize the people believe themselves saved, through the machinations of evil.
