Yungtown seems to be a person who understand this genre well enough to make songs defined by his own characteristics instead of quote on quote borrowing from other people. When I first heard the chorus I thought it was a generic repetition but it was actually mixed up just enough to not make it repitive and nice to listen to. Thanks for the fantastic songs Yungtown, and I really hope you'll be making a few more.
Such a nostalgic song. I remember hearing this 3 or so years ago after my friends showed it to me. I'm surprised this only has less than 500k views. Incredibly underrated for something of this much quality. Keep up the good work man.
Well, I felt the same way, too. I sort of thought that perhaps since she was a Sage she knew that she and Link couldn't be together because they had more important destinies to take care of.
I think it's hard to have a crush on someone who you changed the diapers of. If you think about it, Link showed up in the woods when he was just a baby, so unless the Great Deku Tree (who has no arms) took care of him for the early stages of his life, the Kokiri had to raise Link. It's actually kind of weird when you think about it...
HoundCake I think their bond goes beyond a relationship, I always felt that even though they obviously cared for each other, she was the mother of the kokiri and link too. That goodbye they had on the bridge affected me more as I saw it as a big sister/ mother figure realising that she had to let link go to discover his true potential.
"Impa teaches me this lullaby, though the lyrics are unknown." I think that's my favourite part of the song. Although I don't like rap/hip-hop/modern pop music, I actually kind of enjoyed this song. Thanks, Yungtown.
death'swashingmachine jabu jabu? if that's the part, it was a tough portion of the game, just count your blessings you havnt gotten to the water temple yet
I think we have a nice trilogy of songs for the Hero of Time. This one covers the child portion of OoT, Hero of our Time by NateWantsToBattle accounts for the adult portion (close enough), and Just Three Days by MandoPony, handles MM.
Yungtown man, i gotta tell you. This was my anthem back in high school. This rap spoke to me so much and I listened to it everyday. It helped me keep on pushing onwards, and listening to 5 years later brought back so many great memories. So thank you for this masterpiece xxx
It's insane to see this now from when I first saw it four years ago I actually forgot your name so I just was never able to find it again then I suddenly remembered and now I'm back to pure nostalgia.
There's a lot of melancholy in Ocarina of Time. The loss of a parent, having to leave home, the burden of being the hero, and the loss of childhood. Good stuff.
Okay so the first half of this song reflects perfectly on why this is still today my favorite game ever. I was 8 when I first got this game and no other game has been able to emulate that feeling of adventure and excitement you get as soon as you leave the Kokiri Forest and they present to you the grand Hyrule Field with its amazing theme. You really make some quality stuff and I really look forward to your future videos man. :D
Breath of the Wild version: I don't remember all of those times that we shared, times that we shared. I must have forgot you so I'll just leave you right here, leave you right here. And wander Hy, Hy, Hy that Hyrule Field. That Hy, Hy, Hy that Hyrule Field. Is that a Gu, Gu, Gu, Gu, Guardian? It's the adventure of a lif-*dead by laser*
You have really amazing raps. Why are there not more of these? You only have this one, the Stickerbrush Symphony, and the Pokemon X and Y rap. You should seriously make more of these. I have not seen one mean comment on any of these videos so keep it up!
Usually game raps on TH-cam feel forced and don't have a good hook. This is a rare exception and truly catchy. I miss this guy. Most of his videos dissappeared... :( HE'S BACK BABYYYYY
Good criticisms! I can understand not liking the chorus. The reason I only address Young Link's perspective is because I didn't feel like I could do his whole adventure justice without it seeming rushed, unnatural, and kitschy. Which is why I gravitated toward the concept of Young Link and the start of his adventure, leaving his old life behind. Comments like this are cool, because you made me realize how plausible another song would be, that focused on Adult Link. Great comment man.
This song makes me think of Iwata. To me this could easily be a goodbye song dedicated to him. Iwata to me was link and thus Hyrule field is his heaven where he will have endless adventures for decades to come. So thank you yungtown for this song and thank you nintendo for this great classic game.
Day B Dubstep? I don't listen to robot buttsex soundtracks either. We have the right to not like your favorite music genre, if you're too dumb to accept it then get back to your hole.
Many years ago, this was the first song I learnt by heart to practice on my rapping, now I can finally pull it off, and it's still fucking amazing! That you Luke!
True OoT has everything not the best graphics but the story and revolutionary fighting and 3D graphics. OoT is the mother of all amazing LoZ 3d graphical games
Just throwing my two cents into this old post, but I would have to say between the two I like Yungtown more. Dan Bull has a great way of just making some unrelenting lyrics that are badass but Yungtown feels like he has this creative storytelling he does for his raps so I feel more in sync to his work.
Kristian Bailey Personally, Dan Bull. Dan Bull has a huge variety of styles and he has a dedication like no other. He's consistently great and has flow like no one else. Also, purely subjectively, I LOVE Dan Bull's voice.
Whenever that verse towards Ganondorf arrives I can't help but get that epic feeling you get whenever your favorite anime character is about to beat that ass.
You seriously are one of the greatest rappers I've come across on youtube, though that may not seem like a very ostentatious achievement, it's still heartfelt! I can't wait for more songs from you

So thrilled you guys still enjoy this song. I have a new one in the works!
Can't believe how timeless this song is just like the games. Been listening to it for over 10 years now and it still sounds so good.
Suddenly after YEARS this song popped back into my head and I had to come listen again.
Just came to say this song is still freaking awesome. The "but a hero is what this legend NEEDS" still hypes me up
this song is what got me into zelda, heard it and it stuck in my head
I remember when this song came out, back in the good times ❤
Such a nostalgic song. I remember hearing this 3 or so years ago after my friends showed it to me. I'm surprised this only has less than 500k views. Incredibly underrated for something of this much quality. Keep up the good work man.
I always felt bad for Saria. I feel like she loved Link and he kind of left her =(
So I totally appreciate this song.
Well, I felt the same way, too. I sort of thought that perhaps since she was a Sage she knew that she and Link couldn't be together because they had more important destinies to take care of.
panteralover23
Yeah, it's like there's sadness in her eyes.

If you think about it they can never be together lmao
This is one of the best songs ever made.

I legit listen to this song every day.
this aged like fine wine. I am replaying the game right now and it brings back some good memories :)
"Impa teaches me this lullaby, though the lyrics are unknown."
I think that's my favourite part of the song. Although I don't like rap/hip-hop/modern pop music, I actually kind of enjoyed this song. Thanks, Yungtown.
This type of music is all in the Lyrics. If you don't enjoy the lyrics you won't enjoy the song.
personally My favorite part is "I will Seal my destiny at this pedestal of TIME"
Man brings back some memories, still such an awesome song :)
The beat in this song, specifically at 2:23, was so orgasmic. Well done sir.
Had to come back still a classic and remindes me of my adventure playing zelda as a kid ocarina was my first n64 game and first console
I remember head banging this a 10. Now im singing every lyric at 18
Ocarina of Time is my favorite game. And this song basically ties the game in a nice bow.
hey dude same here

Man, remember Yungtown was my favorite TH-camr as a kid
Nostalgia lol
I remember learning about this song at 8 and I’m listening to it now. I forgot about this until a couple minutes ago
Now its 9 months ago when u remembered it again...time flys damn
Starbomb = 2chainz yungtown = eminem,
One fingerpaints the other paints a perfect picture.
WatchItzBez remove 2chainz and you got some good shit right there
Remove all of them and insert a toddler.

I usually hate listening to rap, but this was good
This some nostalgic sound
You should do a majora's mask rap :)

I don't usually like rap songs, but this is pretty damn good.
It's insane to see this now from when I first saw it four years ago I actually forgot your name so I just was never able to find it again then I suddenly remembered and now I'm back to pure nostalgia.
Justin Tolley he has new zelda raps now!
I love this rap. It ties together how amazing OoT is. Wonderful job Yungtown!!
There's a lot of melancholy in Ocarina of Time. The loss of a parent, having to leave home, the burden of being the hero, and the loss of childhood. Good stuff.
Gaaaaaah this so great!! How have i never heard of you before Asagao?? This is a travesty i will live with for the rest of muh life
Still to this day one of my favourite songs of all time.

I Cant help But Shed A Tear
I have never even played Ocarina of Time, but this song is seriously amazing.
*goes to buy OoT*
Did you enjoy OOT?
CockMunch McGee I did!! I was shocked by how well it’s aged, and it’s one of the only Zelda games I’ve actually beaten!
this is just way better than it needs to be
Your raps are pretty badass. You sound like Mike Shinoda a bit
God I remember when I was just a kid and this song had just come out. Simpler times...
Fr
Dang, This is pretty good! Actually, This is pretty Great!
Okay so the first half of this song reflects perfectly on why this is still today my favorite game ever. I don't remember all of those times that we shared, times that we shared.
ARGH! RIGHT IN THE NOSTALGIA!!
You have really amazing raps. Why are there not more of these? You only have this one, the Stickerbrush Symphony, and the Pokemon X and Y rap. You should seriously make more of these. I have not seen one mean comment on any of these videos so keep it up!
I never did forget you though... I had to explore that hy hy hy that Hyrule Field!

+Zack Lumbard and again yes i will do this every time i come back here, kinda weird this video has more views then his number of subscribers
It's weird. It seems like me and many others have great nostalgia for this song, I wonder why that is.
Usually game raps on TH-cam feel forced and don't have a good hook. This is a rare exception and truly catchy. I miss this guy. Most of his videos dissappeared... :(
HE'S BACK BABYYYYY
I've never played Ocarina Of Time (lame, I know), but I still love this song.
This song gives me so much nostalgia 😭
The feels!!!
still one of the best rap songs I have ever heard and one of my absolute favorite songs period
Who is listening during the quarantine? 😬
I remember this... good memories
I was going to do youtube to mp3 but how can i do that to Yungtown. I love this guy's talent and pirating his music would go against my code
Well done. :D
I mean like code of honor. Something like that
Desertdolphin i understand. I am upset that he doesnt have the pokémon and smash raps on itunes.
Dude.. Ive listened to this like 100+ times and I still get fricking goosebumps..
better than smosh's take on a zelda rap i can tell you that much
THis rap just makes me want to play this game again. This rap was really well done
Yungtown. 'Adventure of a lifetime'-ing before Coldplay made it cool.
Those 130 people that don't like this don't have any taste in music.
judging by the fact that two weeks later not a single other person has disliked, I'm going to assume it's okay i think youngtown is a god in disguise
129 people
it doesnt mean they dont have taste in music.its their opinion.i like this song but still.
SmashFanGaming its probably Nintendo
Rex Medina LOL
This song makes me think of Iwata. To me this could easily be a goodbye song dedicated to him. Iwata to me was link and thus Hyrule field is his heaven where he will have endless adventures for decades to come. So thank you yungtown for this song and thank you nintendo for this great classic game.

I have sadly never played this game, I feel like I just though! You have a gift yungtown.
You need to play it. It's one of the best games ever made.
Scomo Swift I really want to, you have no idea...
Dallin Casse get a rom or buy the 3ds remake or the virtual console
SW99 My PC sucks, i don't own the 3ds, but I am planning to get the original game.
Dallin Casse it should be able to run on your pc use project 64 it was made to run on any pc
This deserves ALL the views. Great job
Who still uses the deku shield by the time they get all the stones?
2021 and this still gives me chills every time.
It's a shame it was taken off iTunes.
any idea why?
+tmobile2120 Nintendo probably took it down :/
***** That's what sucks about it, Nintendo is flat out breaking the law with take downs like this.
+wittsmith the beat takes some aspects of the music in the games
Pat Nat yeah
this is probably the best Zelda rap I've ever heard.
I hate rap.
Oh wait that one was amazing. Nevermind.
I know rite
Day B Racism.
Day B It's very easy. I just don't consider rap as music.
Day B See underneath your question mark.
Day B Dubstep? I don't listen to robot buttsex soundtracks either. We have the right to not like your favorite music genre, if you're too dumb to accept it then get back to your hole.
10 Hour version? ;)
I swear I remember listening to this in middle school... But the time stamp says I was 19 when this song came out...
2024???
Many years ago, this was the first song I learnt by heart to practice on my rapping, now I can finally pull it off, and it's still fucking amazing! That you Luke!
Nintendo rated the legend of zelda ocarina of time their #1 game that they have made
I spent my battery from 65 % to the battery being dead listening to this song
It's pretty amusing when Nintendo can be so wrong about their own products
***** Believe it or not, some people don't like Ocarina of Time. Watch Egoraptor's Sequilitis video. He has a really good point.
Well they made the right decision making it number one.
True OoT has everything not the best graphics
but the story and revolutionary fighting and 3D graphics. OoT is the mother of all amazing LoZ 3d graphical games
This is incredibly good. This has been in my head for days. I ain't complaining.
DUDE! DO A MAJORA'S MASK RAP PLEAAAAAAAASE! :D
pray to god it's not the same song but with Termina instead and some other stuff MM related but just replacing some words XD
Most liked comment on here and I get NO response? (not that 8 likes is incredible)

And I'm several years late, but here I am. :P
We love you yungtown!!!
Yungtown - Rap That Isn't Narcissistic, Mysoginistic, and Downright Garbage Like Mainstream Rap
Man this is so amazing. I just get the tune stuck in my head and have to listen on repeat.
So... yungtown or Dan Bull?
Shhhh! Why not both?
Well I do enjoy both I just wanna other opinions. :3
Just throwing my two cents into this old post, but I would have to say between the two I like Yungtown more. Dan Bull has a great way of just making some unrelenting lyrics that are badass but Yungtown feels like he has this creative storytelling he does for his raps so I feel more in sync to his work.
Kristian Bailey youngtown
Kristian Bailey Personally, Dan Bull. Dan Bull has a huge variety of styles and he has a dedication like no other. He's consistently great and has flow like no one else. Also, purely subjectively, I LOVE Dan Bull's voice.
Whenever that verse towards Ganondorf arrives I can't help but get that epic feeling you get whenever your favorite anime character is about to beat that ass.
You seriously are one of the greatest rappers I've come across on youtube, though that may not seem like a very ostentatious achievement, it's still heartfelt! I can't wait for more songs from you
It's not talent that makes a great musician, it's lots and lots of hard work
This song will always be special to me. It is the first song I have ever legitimately purchased.
The repeating of Hyrule field is actually what sticks in my mind after listening the song.
