I bought a Casio Lineage Titanium about 10 years ago. I have never had any problems with the watch and I wear it almost every day. It still works today like it did on the first day. This is the best watch I've ever had.
I've owned this same watch (except the model with numerals) for several years. Easily the most perfect watch I've ever owned or seen. In my location I get a radio sync at least twice a week and it's never been off by even .5 sec, typically right on the NIST time. Titanium, sapphire, solar, atomic, perpetual day/date calendar, LED, timer/stopwatch, it truly has an unbeatable set of features. Also thinner than most current watches, and standard lugs to simplify swapping bands. For under $200 a truly exceptional value.
out of all the watches in my conservative collection, this Casio Lineage is the ultimate watch that every horological mechanism in my world is calibrated too. Light weight titanium ( the same material the SR71 blackbird is made from) so this watch can withstand up to 4,000 degrees of heat, tough solar- so you don't have to worry about the power source as long as it is expose to light, radio calibrated atomic reception to keep it accurate every day, and power shut off at night, yes this watch goes into sleepy time power conservation when you go to sleep as well. I love this watch, the ultimate watch !
@@realestwatchreviews at first I thought it was broken- but, yes it is cool to see it revive after exposing to light, it is waking up to go to work for you.☺
@@spankyharland9845 One time I left it in a dark closet for a while and thought I killed it! Had to leave it on the window ledge for a few hrs to resuscitate it.
lol I think if you heated the watch to 4000f it would fry the internals even if the case and wristband survive. still it is an awesome watch and I love mine too
@@gitman3486 but of course, my wrist and entire body would turn into cremated remains, and the watch would not work, but the titanium case and bracelet would still be intact- and you can make a TH-cam video restoring it 😁
Just ordered one from Japan. Won't make it here until after the first of the year, but I'm stoked! I'm already thinking my 11 other (Swiss autos, four Eco-Drives, 50 year-old Bulova mechanical, and a few quartz), might spend a lot of time in the watch cabinet when this beauty fits my wrist. Thanks for the review!
I want one! I have 3 Casio in my personal collection. My Edifice Chrono+Tac EF-503/2328, a gift from my daughter 12 years ago, works until today flawlessly. Casio rules.
The value of these watches is ridiculous. Maintenance free, sapphire glass, accurate to a second a year, has a stopwatch, countdown timer and world time - and you can swim with it.
@gusthesailor How are feeling about steel version one year later? Don't you regret for not going for lighter Ti version? @rwr You mentioned your Ti version scratching easily, how was it going over this years scratch wise? There's no coating mentioned on Casio site (e.g. Citizen uses some coating to make Ti watches more prone to scratches, at a cost, as it appears). I wonder of plain steel version would be more scratch resistant....
Question, I'm looking to get one of these (it ticks all thr boxes), but I'm not sure where to get the best prices. Where's a reputable dealer of these kinds of Casios that ships to Vancouver BC? Or maybe there's a brick and mortar that sells Casio Lineage titanium watches?
Hi. I am having trouble getting the day and date on the watch. No matter how I toggle the menues, or the lower right button, I end up with just the local time. Can you help me with this?
Hey, I'm trying to find a clasp that would fit this watch as well, do you think this for Casio DW5600 DW5610 Metal Folding Double Buckle Stainless Steel Watchband Button Small Square Steel Strap Buckle 18mm Clasp from ali will fit it? The one you linked in a previous comment is out of stock unfortunately, thanks for the help!
The one you mentioned will not fit. You need to find a 20mm edifice clasp with a 9mm female link on one side and 18.5mm opening inside the clasp on the other side.
Ur paying for the crystal and the titanium. If you want this cheaper... look into wave ceptor 630d... or 630TDE if you want titanium instead of stainless. The bracelet on the 630 is annoying though. Its pinch adjust, so all the links stay on the braclet and fold under (only positives is that its easily adjustable and sized to any length). No way to balance the clasp, though and thats the annoying part. Unless ur wrist is the perfect size... ie, small. 640 model has the bracelet tool link thing like this lineage... but the bezel has a non functional diver watch ring... no sapphire crystals in either of the wave ceptor versions either.
@@Bloodstryke looks like it’s not on AE at the moment. It’s a common Edifice clasp so you can keep an eye out on ebay. On another note, the bracelet from Berny T2526M-A fits this watch perfectly and that has 4 micro adjustments (but it has folded links)
As long as it receives a signal once a day and adjusts according to the atomic clock. Otherwise you can manually do it fairly easily using the push buttons
"cased in china" written on the back. 😢 After 3 to 4 years : Water resistance problems, just washing hands, it fills with water. Push buttons have very flimsy springs that catch dirt inside and become inoperant with time. Also alarm function is useless because quite inaudible. Analog/digital time frequent desynchronisation... Only 4 months power reserve on the lowest side of solar watches. (+ Bracelet is a piece of crap, but we already know this.. and could be replaced.) Nice but overrated and overpriced very cheap chinese casio... not so durable as you may think. Sorry. 😉
Sorry about the glove! I’m wearing a band aid on my finger and wanted to cover it.

without any coating on the titanium, I would expect it to get a lot of scratches over time. did you experience this?

No scratches after 10 years.

I just received a used one from Japan.
When was module 5161 released.
Mine says it was made either 2004 or 2014.
Good pick up and go watch. It's not going to set the world on fire but I wear it a fair bit .

Have you checked eBay?

Great to hear. Sounds like most buyers of these watches are very happy with them.

What is a shame is the fact that the bracelet is not solid! I have a edifice and it's also no solid bracelet.
It’s hard to get that at this price point, especially on a titanium watch
can you add link for the clasp?

Titanium scratch easier than stainless steel?
Yes, it’s softer and the finish on titanium also tends to show more scratches
The only thing I don't like about the watch is the hair-thin second hand.
Lume??
Lume is decent. Definitely usable in a dark environment.
@@realestwatchreviews thanx for reply
This is an exceptional watch. My only complaint is that it does not make the coffee…..
As said, decent, but it doesn't matter. It also has a light.
The problem with the lineage watches are there being three buttons rather than four. Which make setting it a pain

Does it automatically adjust when going through another time zone?
As long as it receives a signal once a day and adjusts according to the atomic clock. Otherwise you can manually do it fairly easily using the push buttons
Just use the world time feature.
No you’ll need to set your city/zone. Radio signal is one time signature that’s broadcast over the air.
