    I've got an Edifice that's already my favorite, but every time I look for a new watch, I end up looking at a Casio. They make some fine pieces.

    Hi Simon, thanks for the video!
    About the bracelet: It is probably hollow. I assume, only this way 122 g are achievable with stainless steel. If the wall thickness of the metal is enough to guarantee durability, I guess it is a matter of taste whether one prefers the lightness of this bracelet or solid material weight. Do you feel the bracelet might be not durable, so you could bruise link elements or joints could break?
    To me important criteria for metal bracelets are that they do not tug hair at your wrist, do not pull any fabric fibers and no clasp wear-out can lead to accidental opening of the strap. What is your experience in this regard?

    • @WatchtheTime
      @WatchtheTime  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More than likely hollow links mate but generally it doesn’t pose any problems to arm hair, that I experienced and as for the clasp opening, I never had that happen to me at all. I hope that helps and thank you for watching 👍👍

    Yeah, they should've skipped the lume if it's more or less useless. And a better bracelet could've been featured for a Casio at this price. Otherwise it looks really good IMO. I really like that dial, and with a negative display that function is pretty discreet.

      You can use a free mobile phone app to simulate the radio time signal and sync your watch if you are outside one of the radio reception areas. You probably only need to do that once or twice a month depending on how fussy you are about to the second accuracy.

    Nice. I have been wearing their less expensive version the past 5 years. Mine has the same module but a plastic case with an alloy cover. Looks metal except some exposed gray plastic bits. Also mine does not have the negative LCD display, but mine is probably easier to read. I checked Amazon USA September 2022 and your exact model is not currently available. I would like to upgrade mine to the Titanium version. But I already have plenty of watches and this one works fine.

    I just bought the titanium version of this watch from a Japanese seller on Amazon, and it did not come with the nice tin box, nor the massive manual. I had to download the PDF manual. Also, my watch simply will not sync itself with atomic time, no matter how I orient it or where I put it in my house. Is there a "best" position for the watch to be in to receive the signal? That is, face up, case up, or a particular face number toward the window? I'm in NY, so I'm a bit far from the Colorado signal, but I have another cheaper watch that is able to sync from my east facing window. Oddly, it is unable to sync from the west facing window!

    • @WatchtheTime
      @WatchtheTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I no longer own mine but I did find getting signal wasn’t always easy and you gradually work out the best places in the house to get signal. I hope you work it all out mate 👍👍

      @@WatchtheTime Thanks! I've since learned that the *WWVB* signal towers in Colorado, which is the one contacted from NY State, suffered wind damage recently, and one of the antennas is inoperable! So, perhaps that's the cause of my trouble syncing (though another non-Casio watch I own - a $70 "CoolFire" watch still syncs fine, albeit less frequently successfully). From NIST:
      -
      *Help with WWVB Radio Controlled Clocks*
      Official Notice: Commencing from 0000 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on April 7, 2024, *the southern antenna of WWVB has been rendered non-operational* due to damage sustained from wind gusts exceeding 90 MPH. Please be advised that WWVB continues to function at a diminished overall power, utilizing only its northern antenna.
      Update 01 July 2024: The components necessary for the refurbishment of the southern antenna’s triatic are currently being manufactured and shipped. *The projected timeline for the completion of these repairs is tentatively set for the latter part of September 2024* . We would like to emphasize that this is an estimated timeline and may be subject to alterations based on a variety of factors. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience during this process.

      @@WatchtheTime Two year update: It is a great watch. The display is very clear and easy to read in the office or in other well lit places. In the dark, forget it. I just love the atomic time sync, that the second hand hits the markers perfectly, and that it has all the functions of a G-Shock (stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, etc.).
      As for shortening the bracelet, it has a pin and collar system: You push the pins out, and a collar around the pin falls off as you take it out. Make sure to place the collars correctly before pushing the pins back in, or the watch will fall off.

    Mind if i spoil the party Simon? Well, ALL specs (WR aside...) are great, even the dial colour, that anthracite is awesome, you can get over the lume, the bracelet etc etc. If you start adding the plus(ses) is amazing what you get, solar, sapphire, size, functions, accuracy, plain design, legibility and whatever else.
    Do you know what it really lacks? Soul mate. Soul... It's like german cars (especially from the 80's/90's), fockin well built, made to last, but bloody soulless. Or may i say Scand girls??? 😋 Same sh!t!!! It really pisses me off but in the end i miss that rush/flame i'd like on a watch like this. Since the day you showed this i had the same feeling. Not sure about this one, I like the dial but the quarter lines seem unnecessary. The bracelet looks a bit flimsy and heavily branding a cheap and nasty clasp seems strange. My experience of wave ceptors is that it’s a bit gimmicky and sucks the life out of the battery, therefore tends to get switched off. A mixed bag overall.

    After 3 to 4 years :
    Water resistance problems, just washing hands, it fills with water.
    Push buttons have very flimsy springs that catch dirt inside and become inoperant with time.
    Also alarm function is useless because quite inaudible.
    Analog/digital time frequent desynchronisation...
    Only 4 months power reserve on the lowest side of solar watches.
    (+ Bracelet is a piece of crap, but we already know this.. and could be replaced.)
    Nice but overpriced very cheap chinese casio... not so durable as you may think.
    Sorry. 😉

    CASIO Lineage does not have satellite control, as you say in beginning of the video, nor does it have Bluetooth control, to set up the time, as you said on the end of the video. The watch is radio controlled. For details see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_clock#See_also
