Some bangers on that one. If I had to rank the new songs least to best: 4. Am I In Love? 3. Prayin’ 4 a Miracle 2. Summer Can’t Last Too Long 1. Days Like These
I think it is better to build an ASIA playlist with original member on a sort of a mix tape... I do that all the time,.and also without having steve howe because is totally different approach By the way "finger on the trigger" is an original ICON song , but with more arragements with ASIA Big huge ASIA fan here. My favorite album would be "Aurora", a japanese release with B sides... And of.course "lying to yourself" track is my number one Kind regards from México
With the original lineup it is tough. Each album I do have a favorite song or more. Gravitas is the only exception but Gravitas is the safety school of the original catalogue. Every song is solid, not weak but nothing standouts. It is a good travel album but if I was introducing someone to Asia I would never include a song from Gravitas. Alpha gets beaten up too much and it would have been better if the B Sides Daylight and Lyin' to Yourself were on the album and Never in a Million years and Eye to Eye swapped out. Assuming you had to replace songs. It is more poppy but the Phil Spector wall of sound hurts that album. The bass and guitars get buried and the drums pop up and disappear John's bass on Don't Cry is really good but you have no idea it is there. . My album ranks with my favorite songs on each album: 7 Gravitas - 6 Omega - Finger on the Trigger, Light the Way, I'm Still the Same, I Believe and B side Drop a Stone 5 Astra - Go, Hard on Me, Rock and Roll Dream, Too Late 4 Phoenix - Never Again, Extraordinary Life, Wish I'd Known All Along and No Way Out 3 XXX - Tomorrow the World, Judas, Bury Me in Willow and Faithfully 2 Alpha - Don't Cry, My Own Time, Open Your Eyes, Last to Know, Midnight Sun and both B sides, Daylight and Lyin' to Yourself 1 Asia - It is easier to list the songs I don't regularly play then my favorites. One Step Closer and Here Comes the Feeling but they do find regular play from time to time. Though I like both the Geoff and John songs, I seem to like all the songs Steve was involved with over the years. Even the demos that didn't make it or showed up later on Steve's Home Brew or John and Geoffs demo release and Asia Then and Now new material.
1. You can’t rank a discography and completely leave out nearly half the albums. 2. Asia is still around. It’s current lineup is Marc Bonilla, Billy Sherwood, Geoff Downes, Carl Palmer. 3. Krokus is Swiss not Swedish. 4. You’re complaining that Asia is poppy and your favorite Asia song is The Smile? Also, Asia is a pop rock band, so why are you complaining that the music is poppy? That’s like complaining that a Yes album is too proggy. 5. Wetton is a virtuoso bassist. You just have to listen to King Crimson. And how is he a “second guy” 6. Omega and XXX are not prog. 7. Downes is not currently with The Buggles. Horn is touring as The Buggles without him.
@@playlistmaker90125I totally agree with you, as much as the first album is good a lot of their other albums are very strong especially the reunion albums 👍
12. Arena
11. Gravitas
10. Silent Nation
9. Astra
8. Alpha

3. Aqua
2. XXX

This is a good review, but what about ‘Then and Now’? Can you review and give your opinions on that?
Its a biggest hits compilation album
@@pitanga1724 but it has four original songs, one of which was a charting single in some areas, so it would be good to get some opinions

“Yeah, I’ll just pick and choose which albums I want to rank instead of just ranking all of them”

Omega is the best reunion album

They're easy to rank, the first one was awesome the rest are mediocre at best.
That’s your opinion. People who are actually fans of the band as a whole like more than just the first album…
@@playlistmaker90125 I'm a massive fan of the first album I just didn't like any of the other ones. Believe me I tried.
