I just watched this. I am a beginner. I have joined a local group. If I have this same passion for MD in a year I will definitely consider the Nexus as my first choice, but for sure I will be going analog. I have a year to decide and I will follow this journey.
You make some excellent points. I use a Deus 2 but I also have a Tesoro Vaquero that has gone DEEP once super-tuned. I still use both. To your point about whether the newer, digital machines really do anything that the older analog ones can't: To me, it seems like some of the newer machines are better when it comes to separation/hunting in trash. There's a reason why lots of people get a new, computerized machine and find things in spots they've been over dozens of times with older models. They're not necessarily deeper, though, as the Vaquero, Nautilus, and countless other analog machines show.
I just now found this channel and subscribed. I have been using a CTX3030 for the past 10 years, and it has been a great machine for me. A year or so ago I found out about the analog Nexus detector. The Nexus seems to be focused on performance not 'bells and whistles '. I am looking forward to watching your future videos, and following your journey with this machine.
Very interesting outlook. I too have been thinking about the analog tech here lately and wondering why thete usbt as much out there now. Will be watching your other videos now too.
I started on whites mxt 20 years ago. It was great! I hunt Fisher f75 in delta pitch and seldom look at the screen. Great video 👍👍 Marketing drives so much. I enjoy your channel 👍
I'm with you on analog. I use my Equinox 800 and never look at the screen when I'm relic hunting... audio is king. I'm glad I found this channel because I've been interested in this detector. I still have my Shadow x2 too.
Wow,,,,You remind me of me so much :)) and I go back 40 years, am I really that old.? My first was a Whites 5000D bought it used. Very Poor Marine back then. Moved up to a Garrett, I think the fist Master Hunter, Just a depth meter on it.but i think I found more with that on land than anything since, Had to constantly retune it. Then got a better one with the ID, I love the analog meter. I have a CZ3D from many years back and still love looking at the meter. Right now I have a Fisher 75 Ltd and have done good with it after good layoff. Just ordered a Madicore, we will see what happens here in Japan this winter I will be watching and see how you do, I see they have a 24 Hz, and that is what I may need with the bronze coins I mostly look for. Anyway, good luck and I will be watching
Thanks for a great rundown on an important subject. I too started around that time first machine a 6DB, second an Eagle 2. That digital accuracy blew the lid off my park sites. I then "regressed" to a CZ5 a very solid machine as well. If you put the Legend in Pich audio spd 3 IF 3 you will see what the thoroughness of digital will do. Put some spikes over a ring--quite astounding. All that fidelityi can be a curse though and with something like the Manti--you have such a heavily proocessed signal that what you are looking for gets lost in all the high gain noise if you make the slightest turing mistake. I do well with old school pulse machines like Jimmy Pugh's Baraccuda--simple. This Nexus is certainly interesting seeing some great demos from the UK.--wsh it was waterproof! good luck detecting, clive
Been metal detecting for 15 years and now I’m swinging the Deus2. But I always tell people who are thinking about getting into the hobby that I’ve found my best coin with a cheap no frills bounty hunter.
Best finds I had in UK was with my Nexus standard but I got drawn into the digital hype and ended up with couple of machines currently using a Deus 2 and Tarsacci I really miss the analogue Nexus and wish I never sold it tbh. I’m hovering to buy a new Nexus and just deciding which coil initially would be best for me. Be watching yours and Paul’s channels with interest in the coming week or 2 so thanks for posting the vids.
I’ve often said the only difference between detectors is how they process the signal. Most every detector will “see” the target, but the signal will be processed differently.
I'll watch your videos in order. I started with a White's 5000D Series 2 back in 1980. Always been White's, Why? Because they found the stuff for me. I'm now in The Eastern Panhandle of WV and CW relics is my main detecting. Some years ago I bought a MXT AP to go along side my 6000XL Pro. Didn't use the XL Pro for a year because the MXT was doing it for me. Sold it, Great machine, I just wasn't using it. (May regret that) Not following the drama of the MX Sport, I bought a closet (Like new) Queen then started researching it. I could have just gave up and sold it or put it into the closet, NOT going to do it! I'm gonna find out how to make it work for me! Grounds cement so I haven't got out to my CW sites with it yet. 23 years ago my girlfriend wanted to learn detecting, Got her a IDX Pro, took it out and loved it and tested it along side a XL Pro, Did great. So a Month ago I picked up ANOTHER closet Queen IDX Pro. Such a fun machine and it's got talent and a place in todays detecting as well. Only someone who has put in years knows how to work a signal, Make a bad signal good with working it, size it and and hear the quality of it. Bells and whistles, When you get right down to it, you work a signal like you worked the signal 30-40 years ago. That didn't change. The MXT AP will be my go to CW Machine, Got the 13 Ultimate Detech and a 5x8 coils. What got me interested in your video is you are doing what every detectorist should and needs to do. Learn the detector! Sorry for the long post, just wanted to let you know I like what you are doing. Thanks. My tube channel "Silent Bruce"
@@BeepnDigRelicHunting I think so to but hard to drop 2k without knowing. Thanks for the videos I'll keep watching for the depth on large bullets when the ground is wet again.

White's Spectra V3i is the only true simultaneous multifrequency metal detector. I only recently saw a video on this metal detector. I believe simultaneous multifrequency metal detectors are on a serious decline. I believe the Nexus mp v3 is a top contender. I haven't seen any price on any? Thanks! I subscribed.
You can expect to spend at least $2500 depending on the coil you choose. The prices can be found on their website. The more I have this one, the more I like it and the less I like all those digital units I swung through the years.
I know it's hard, but when it comes to old tech, you have to just let go. I still love my Tesoro outlaw, mojave, and Tejon, BUT! Paying two grand for an analog machine isn't worth it. Not when you can get a Minlabe Exounox 600, or a Nokta Legend for five hundred bucks. Old tech is really cool, but sometimes you have to know when it's time to roll with the changes. That machine is 2 grand, and you can get a Mantacore for 16 hundred? Come on dude😂..
I’ve learned to keep an analog machine with me as a backup. I’m fact, I won’t leave home without it. When the digital don’t like the soil, or there’s high iron, etc- they start going crazy, making all kinds of erratic noises etc. I grab the analog and keep on hunting. I’ll bring either a whites XL Pro or a Compass XP Pro Plus. Trust me, they will get the job done when the digitals can’t.
