Beep n Dig Relic Hunting
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 ส.ค. 2023
A channel devoted to Civil War relic hunting with an analog metal detector. I have no ax to grind or detector to shill. I just saw a scarcity of relic hunting channels where analog detectors were used. Thus, this channel. Currently, my analog detector of choice is the Nexus Standard MP V3.

Nexus Standard MP V3 RGB Meter Responses

Reshot the previous video. Not sure it's that much better. I guess I am not a studio videographer. This gives responses to a few common relic targets and a few coins. I just don't know why there is a difficulty discerning between orange/yellow and white. I tried it with both iPhone and GoPro. I am enjoying getting to know this Nexus metal detector. It's a thoroughly unique experience to this 30...

Digital is SO SO SO much light in weight, and cheaper to produce, the old analogue machines weighed a tonne
@4:59 "least favorite are the hole to hole ones where all you see are the holes after they found the target" Truer words have never been spoken. 👍
Looks like a great machine I have seen the demonstrations on it. Amazing. I think that thing would sing in my area. Not mineralized much at all. How do you feel about it? I think I could go back to every park I hunted.
Very interesting outlook. I too have been thinking about the analog tech here lately and wondering why thete usbt as much out there now. Will be watching your other videos now too.
I just watched this. I am a beginner. I have joined a local group. If I have this same passion for MD in a year I will definitely consider the Nexus as my first choice, but for sure I will be going analog. I have a year to decide and I will follow this journey.
Hey - thanks for posting these. Looking to get a Nexus. Have you hunted yet with the double 16? I'm hoping to check gold mine tailings piles with it. Those can be deep.
Yes, but not a lot. But I do know it’s the deepest coil I’ve ever swung.
@@ChuckPourciau Where did you get that coil? I was about to order an MP 3 with that coil but it's not on their website. I guess the alternative is the dual 12.
Been metal detecting for 15 years and now I’m swinging the Deus2. But I always tell people who are thinking about getting into the hobby that I’ve found my best coin with a cheap no frills bounty hunter.
Where did u buy that bro?
You should reread the manual. you have set the lc-mc set knob too high. By doing this you have moved the reading limit of the RGB LED. LC-MC SET control This rotary control is used to turn on/off the RGB meter and/or to set the cut off point between low conductors and medium conductors. For example in some cases hammered gold coins may be preferable to be set on the meter as low conductors (despite that normally they can read as medium-low conductors), so that all other targets can be ignored without potential loss of hammered silver and hammered gold coins. This type of setting will be useful on sites littered with useless non-ferrous targets with conductivity higher than the desired small gold and hammered silver coins.
I know it's hard, but when it comes to old tech, you have to just let go. I still love my Tesoro outlaw, mojave, and Tejon, BUT! Paying two grand for an analog machine isn't worth it. Not when you can get a Minlabe Exounox 600, or a Nokta Legend for five hundred bucks. Old tech is really cool, but sometimes you have to know when it's time to roll with the changes. That machine is 2 grand, and you can get a Mantacore for 16 hundred? Come on dude😂..
Mate you ain’t a clue, this machine on a UK Roman site destroys a manticore. Dig your easy target big silver shite
Interesting detector!!... would be good to see how well it can detect deep targets against the Nautilus DMC IIB
Found one of those Indian Head cents six months ago here in Australia, it was a nice surprise and change from Au and English pre decimal coins we usually find😮😊😊.Great hunt thanks again😊😊
Great to be out with you and your Nexes again😊😊😊😊
Thanks, Russ it’s good to be digging.
keep up the good work
I love Tesoro Tejon I have 2 of them
It is good to have a new video from you. You are making good progress on the V3 with a 15" deep target. I am enjoying watching you use this machine.
Thanks. I’m getting really comfortable with the 13” coil. So many nuances.
Nice 2 see u having fun out there! Good luck hunting! Big hello from new friends and follower from southern Europe!
Greetings. You are observant. I was having fun.
Cool video!! Always wanted to head down south and dig those bullets. I don’t seem to find them up here in New York. Congrats on the IHP!
And you get to dig Colonial relics up there. Both have their advantages, but, yes, I do like digging bullets.
Great seeing you’re mended back swinging and digging!! Well done!!
What coil are you using?
13” DD low frequency.
Looks a great place for a dig. Good effort in the woods, always tricky with the roots getting in the way. Best wishes from Lancashire, England.
Thank you. I’m envious of those of you who get to hunt in the old country.
Chuck remember, if you want to confirm if it's large iron, turn VCO tones on, the low tone will sound first as the coil edge approaches the target
Good point.
A very good hunt. Looks you could use a little more rain. Glad you are on the mend.
Good to see you back out swinging Chuck 👌👍🏻
You make some excellent points. I use a Deus 2 but I also have a Tesoro Vaquero that has gone DEEP once super-tuned. I still use both. To your point about whether the newer, digital machines really do anything that the older analog ones can't: To me, it seems like some of the newer machines are better when it comes to separation/hunting in trash. There's a reason why lots of people get a new, computerized machine and find things in spots they've been over dozens of times with older models. They're not necessarily deeper, though, as the Vaquero, Nautilus, and countless other analog machines show.
I don't see what you're scanning
The first few looked.like civil war bullets, some looked like relics, I agree it was very hard to tell
What are aome cheaper analog machines that are worth getting? Nexus is too expensive for me
One possibility is deep tech. backwoodsmetaldetectors.com/collections/deeptech-vista-detectors-and-accessories. Also, this forum is devoted to analog: www.findmall.com/forums/beep-dig-detecting-forum.8/
Thanks there pretty expensive but You get what You pay for! I think it's better than the top brand multi frequency detectors!!
You have used them all, I'll take That into consideration because You know!!!
Looks like once you learn it, it's incredible!!!!!
Nice video would like to get a nexus, don't know how to order one🙄
You can go to their website. nexusdetectors.com
Promo SM 😈
Bother, let me tell you, this is great content with strong arguments, but the sound is just not there. You get the sub anyway.
Sorry about that. It was an iPhone. Hopefully, the GoPro videos that follow have better audio.
Damn wish I could afford that detector. Been out of work since August
I just bought a brand new QXT PRO and CLASSIC ID but the QXT has something going on not deep at all wont ID correctly so going to Oregon for Todd to work on when he says send it. The boys in Manassas Virginia don't want to even attempt it. They did resurrect a Silver Eagle like yours sent it back to me only last 3 hours and sent it back but it got grave yard gave my money back i said keep it for parts, they tried.
HERE IS THE TEST: Take a Rusty horseshoe bent nail old one place a dime in the bend and my Whites IDX PRO etc. Hits that dime all day long, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE LEGEND? I know the unmasking king answer to this. I own 24 detectors that hit it and one that won't some are duplicate detectors but whites hits it with a 950 coil to boot all ways
Air tests are BS, the legend is also much lighter than the older detector. The Whites' recovery speed is also terrible. The Nexus seems pretty good though.
I agree that air tests are BS. In fact, I know the Silver Eagle will go significantly deeper in the ground. You’re also right about the superior recovery speed of the Legend over the Silver Eagle. I too like the ergonomics of the Legend. I wouldn’t own it if it didn’t have value for me in one sense or another. The purpose of the video was simply to show that the last three decades of metal detecting technological advancement have not been all that impressive. Thanks for your comments.
Great video, ive found alot of things with my 3 whites detectors, i got a new Legend...Still learning it. These type of videos are great. Thanks Jim
I appreciate it, Jim.
tell us about your injury . Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏🙏
Advanced thumb arthritis. Had joint replacement. Looking forward to it not hurting to do ANYTHING.
I hope I didn't give you too many problems with the packaging 😂 Cliff...uk
You packed it very well, Cliff. Almost too well for a one handed fellow 😂 But I got the cast removed yesterday and am about to head for therapy.
Nexus rules😮😊😂.the whites was good in its day, great memories. Hope you heal up soon😊
A man with common sense
Thanks for video, good to see you back in action. By the looks of that cast/bandage now I understand why you’ve been away. Heal up well sir. I’ve been getting on well with my Nexus machine! They are freaking impressive indeed! 👍👍
You're sharing my can of worms 😂😂😂 carry on, I'm borrowing a Deus 2 in the New Year, it should be interesting 😂
Ohh boy here we go 😂 any questions with D2 feel free to get in touch with me, but I’m sure you can handle it. I have the greatest custom program called “GO-4-IT”. I’m starting to think we should all keep the Nexus secret 😂
It's fun & gives some insight by comparing older machines with what is available today. I have done it & it makes me realize we are living in the better "Golden Age of detectors. There was nothing close to the capabilities of the Nexus( or the current top of the line from other makers) 30+ years ago. It is a good thing targets were more plentiful and trash less so than today. What equally amazes me is the relative prices of then verses now. P. S. The "Bash" is not going to like your videos any better than Paul's. Hope you heal up quick.
If your spending over $1,000 for a detector, Well you have to believe it's better, Otherwise, Well? Ah? Well everyone says they are better. (Old White's detector user) using old White's machines.
Hell YES !!! 🔥👌
Wonderful waiting for the comparison 👍 thanks
That's cool! I started with a garrett at pro. Cool seeing the older ones
Lovely to see takes me back to when I got my first Eagle from whites 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
