My resource officer in high school was in a similar vein to this guy. Super funny guy, always laughing, and was more open to talking to us than the guidance counselor or any of the teachers were. Helped so many kids, me included. I would not be on the path I’m on if not for him and I couldn’t be more grateful. He passed away recently but man he was a special person. RIP Officer Gainwell.

Guessing if he exercise and gets use to carrying o much what that what lil weight he wears is np anytime. not be shocked in training they have u wear so much so u are used to carrying what u need anytime. i mean military carry alot weight at times so it all being fit and ready to roll anytime.
Has to be hard , my son used to wear alot of gear and I tried to just try the vest 🦺 on and couldn't handle it . It was much too heavy.

A couple of those students may be raising this cop's babies. The SRO in my school was sleeping with multiple students. Too often Officer Friendly is too friendly. Beware the "buddy cop."

This is my all time favorite feel good video. The smile on the officer's face and that of the kids is so uplifting. God bless the men and women in blue. Thank you for all your hard work and sacrifices you have made and continue to make every day. In light of recent developments (4/27/24) makes me so sad to see that state of the world today. LOVED everything about that! You can tell he truly cared about the students and they felt the same way about him. This gave me father vibes. He’s dancing and playing with the kids, but he stayed strapped, so let any harm come to them and you will see his full force. Much respect to him for bringing honor to the badge.

@@ginmar8134 Cops usually wear Level 3A body armor, it is a pretty heavy plate to wear all day...to dance in is even harder if the vest isn't strapped tightly to you. Too tight, and it could get hard to breathe.
As a person who wore majority and did miles runs in it, I can says that that is no joke. You definitely need endurance and be fit for that...my back still hurts

If just one kid here avoids a terrible situation with cops because they're just a little less nervous around them due to this officer, it's all worth it. Many officers 'in the wild' need to work on themselves too, I'm not removing due blame from them, but this officer helped everyone come just a little closer together.

I was bored with much of the work, and as a teen - wished they'd let me out to work a half day that final semester, RATHER than taking an entire day of band, advanced musicianship, art, art again, home economics and foods...I felt like rather than an entire day of electives they should just let me out to go work! Nowadays, they are more lenient with students who have passed all their required subjects.

I agree those thumbs down probably persons hate puppies, small kids and sunrise and unity. Division is all they want all while claiming they're tolerance. . They can just return to their narrow dark place. We're good with that. I was proud of both those kids and the officer what roll models. Wow
@Hopper33 Whether you want them in schools or not, there's not a good reason to believe this wasn't 100% a positive event.
@Bob Marley Who's to say all the parents don't? A kid can have more than one positive influence in life. Plenty of those "drones" go out of their way to make positive impacts on their communities on and off the job.

He probably says hello he’s probably accessible you probably can talk with him. He’s probably fair, strict and knows the law. He probably interacts with the community outside of making arrests. Respect is not given it’s earned doesn’t matter who gave you a badge

It’s because of officers like him that I pursued a career in law enforcement. I can say I made my dream come true when I was hired as a deputy sheriff. Unfortunately I resigned my first year because I had to choose between my career or my family. To all the first responders out there, thank you for your service. Keep safe out there in this pandemic!

What did your family have to do with it,? They tell you it was too dangerous or hours too long and made you give up on your dream? As a retired 40 year Deputy Sheriff , I'm thinking that you realized this job was insane and you decided to pull the plug. That I can respect because it's NOT for everyone and better to get out young to start over on another career.
@@johnmcmahon8513 my family had everything to do with my friend. My family comes first and I had to make a decision wether to lose my family or my career. Don’t judge without knowing the entire story. I loved being a deputy and was proud that I achieved my goal.
