    Someone in the comments said "2 coaches walked away from the game for mental issues caused by the likes of this panel!" which is wrong by all accounts. I assume they're referring to Damien and Alastair. 1) If you listened to what Damien said in the press conference this morning you'll know that this wasn't the reason so I'm not sure where you got the notion that he is quitting because of journalists? 2) Alastair quit as a result of the pressure of coaching and dealing with the hawthorn racism investigation which was commissioned by the AFL themselves. Journalists reporting on this has nothing to do with this.

      @imalwaysright ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bloodynine606 the point at when you retire is irrelevant. Lloyd questioned the validity of claims of burnout and whether that is a good reason, and yet Lloyd retired because he was essentially burnt out. Dimma said at his press conference that he's cooked the sausage 1000 different ways and can't think of the 1001th way to get them where they need to be. That the club made need a new voice. It's better for the club f he leaves now - they can start the rebuild earlier, try new things, start the new coach search sooner. Focusing on when he leaves also implies that he shouldn't be putting his own wellbeing before the club. He's been there 14 years, built the club up from mess, and delivered 3 trophies in 4 years. It's not surprising Lloyd isn't in touch with many of his ex teammates, even premiership ones. Where's Lloyd's coaching CV?

    Burnout doesn't just happen overnight. Dimma would've definitely known he was on the edges at the start of the year.
    He's realised his team is below average and that back breaking loss against the Bombers was likely just the final straw.

    Haha. Go the Power! Good coach, best squad in the afl, great facilities, big membership. No sympathy for vic clubs playing at the mcg every week and an away game at geelong. The other state teams do it tough...especially brizzy and west coast....
