Their presence on this show makes me question their integrity. They tend to have better takes than the other 95% of panelists, but they know full well what Nine's objectives are with this program. They'd be more at home on Fox Footy alongside the likes of Dave King and Joey, but I guess they don't want the paycut.

Trading him would probably send the club backwards (who are seeking to get themselves back into premiership contention, 0-4 in finals games in the last 2 seasons), and Oliver himself probably wouldn't want to leave. I think most would agree that Oliver should stay where he is.
As Kane said, it was Melbourne who had him on the trade table last season.....
These idiots dont factor in when you got 6 ys left on you're deal you have NO interest in moving on, like you said, top player think 4 B&F been an absolute gun, no preseason to speak of and a few injuries, he will come back better than ever next year.

How can Kane say that’s one of the worst contracts his ever seen? His 26 years old 3x all aus and 4x b&f winner, not to mention a crucial part of a premiership team, unfortunately Kane his resume was already better by 23 than what yours was after your career had finished
300 gamer, x4 b&f, x2 AA, premiership player, very similar resume only Kane played 300, the way Clayton is going he won't play anywhere near as many. Kanes opinion is his not worth 10m tied up on going. Maybe his wrong, maybe cluz comes back and continues his honours, maybe not. But his not wrong 10m is a big gamble for him to turn it around.

So Kane blasts Melbourne for getting rid of Grundy for cheap (even though it was a salary dump) but then believes Melbourne should trade a first rounder to get rid of Oliver. Talk about a contradiction. Dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. The guy didn't have a pre-season and had a fair hand injury.

There are rumours circulating BT will be boned from 7. Wheatley to replace him as head of the AFL coverage. 7 think he’s gettable, based on all the financial issues at SEN. SEN are happy to do the deal, if 7 can offer a replacement. SEN are believed to be very interested in Alistair Nicholson but, are not willing to pay out his contract. I think a deal will get done.
Whateley you mean and no he isn't remotely gettable. The man recently signed a 3 year extension with SEN back in April.

We all know presales are risky, but the gains on those can be insane. I've just put a few thousand in Revux. If I lose, that's a bummer, but if I win, I will be a millionaire by next year.
These 2 are not in anyway reliable when it comes to any form of information but today is denied Oliver been up for trade at the end of last year and then halfway through this year they admitted that they did ask around dons, hawks and crows were all interested.
I'm not a fan of McClure, but he handled himself well here. Quite simply, the Ess list has been deplorable over the past two decades, and Adrian hasn't been held to account.

so i've watched this show for 3 years from the UK. in the past 2-3 weeks i've lost all interest because of 'dumb' & 'dumber' being on the show - talk about trying to grow the game and fanbase, and then you put those two nobs on show - sure those two will single handedly kill this show off

McClure is a rank amateur. Doddoro is one of 2 or 3 people who have held Essendon together. As one loser after another: Neeld, Kerr, Campbell, Richardson slunk into the club and dragged its standards to the bottom of the barrel. Add that to Worstfold’s 5 passionless, bland, stagnant years where he basically failed to develop anyone. Bomber Thompson’s personal issues. Hirdy and the supplements saga. The hasty appointment of the inexperienced Rutten. On and on. Doddoro has remained focused and kept his department verily cohesive. The intellect of McClure is too subpar to grasp the nuances.
Dodoro helped hold Essendon together. What an absolute joke. The man drafted horrendously for most of his time until the mid-season draft came into the frame back in 2019. Did you suddenly forget about the likes of Gumbleton, Reimers or Myers who were absolutely useless.
He would constantly bring in decent at best players in free agency and massively overpay them. He is literally the sole reason why for many years our backline has been so ridiculously under sized and frail until McKay was brought in. He has made us miss out on many seriously good players like Josh Dunkley and Bobby Hill. The later which would have solved our current major small forward issues ever since we lost Fantasia and Tippunwugi.
He never replaced Jobe Watson after he retired 7 years ago and still to this day we have no big bodied midfielder that can consistently dominate the contest and drive right through the opposition's defence with authority and sheer will like a Petracca, Bontempeli, Dangerfield, Dusty Martin, De Goey, prime Fyfe, Cripps, etc. Maybe Durham ends up been that dominant big bodied midfielder but that is realistically at least 2-3 years down the line by which time Merret and Parish are in their early 30's.
We have had less than 15 All Australian selections since 2001. Need I say more.

@@sweetcell8767It shapes greatly for me because drafting those two in those years meant missing out on two quality forwards to replace both Lloyd and Lucas after 2009 and 2010 respectively. We wouldn't get another top calibre tall forward until Joe Daniher which meant we were largely stuck with Crameri who was decent and mostly got the job done but nowhere near the elite level.
Just accept the stone cold fact he is absolute rubbish and would have been sacked by all the other 17 clubs many years ago. He has been at this club for almost 30 years and has largely overseen complete failure in pretty all but his first 3 years where he basically arrived at a club that was considerably more stable, actually had a serial winning mentality seethed right through the culture and was drafting well for years.

Lloyd and Lucas were generation players. You think a Lloyd is in the draft every year, ready and waiting to walk into your club? Madness. The truth is that, by picking Gumbleton, who was a top junior and would’ve been picked by the next club if we didn’t get him, Dodoro was trying to solve the forward problem. Sadly, his body wasn’t up to it, maybe his attitude wasn’t up to it? Perhaps we didn’t develop him according? You seem to be under the misconception that a player fails because they were the wrong pick to begin with. When talented players don’t make it, it’s multi causal; numerous things go wrong. As we’re seeing with Zach Reid at present. Why is that so hard to understand? And I still find it interesting that your primary concerns with Dodoro go back to 2007. Just weak arguments.

I and most Bomber fans very simply expected good replacements for them which at the time there was plenty of good of in those drafts but Dodoro and his team clearly picked the wrong players. Its not exactly difficult to comprehend.
If you draft the wrong player you have sinply drafted the wrong player. It really doesn't matter at all what the circumstances are currently or were for that player or even if they do come good much later on in their career. Its still the wrong pick regardless because much better players around them both in their same position in another position were passed up on. Why else do you think both the Bombers and Blues have largely been the laughing stock of the competition for the last 20 years. There is nothing remotely complicated about it and the principle applies to every other League with a draft system. The NBA especially where drafting the wrong player/s has a detrimental effect on a franchises future. Case in point the Golden State Warriors who foolishly selected James Wiseman with the number 1 pick over the clearly more talented Lamelo Ball. Now as result they have no future at all as soon as Steph Curry retires.
My concerns actually largely spread from 2017 onwards where still to this day we never have never found a proper replacement for Jobe Watson and still don't have a big bodied midfielder that consistent dominates the contest. Like I said Durham quite possibly could end up been that but that is at least 2-3 years down the line by which time Merret and Parish are in their early 30's. Then there is a massive hole in quality 20-25 a goal a season pressure small forwards ever since we lost Fantasia to Port Adelaide (obviously at Carlton now) and Tippunwugi to his 2nd retirement just last year. Davey Jr quite clearly isn't cut out for AFL footy at this stage and Menzies all though he seemed to show a bit of promise in his first year last season is probably at least 3-4 seasons away.
