Most houseboats do not have engines or motors, because they are usually towed to their destination. They can be moved. They are berthed at docks for utilities or anchored with fixed lines. This was a waterside “showroom”.
Average 30 year loan the mortgage costs on 4.7 mil is 29.7K a month. Just to break even assuming 100% bookings and with expenses, cleaning, ect.. averaging $1.5K a month you need $1,040 per night just to break even. In Dubai you can stay in luxury downtown 3 bedroom condos or in a Luxury Penthouse Dubai Marina for around $400 a night. I grew up in Seattle, WA and there was a wide variety of houseboats on Union Bay. Some were mobile, some not. I don’t think these things are meant to be moved once they are placed. How can you navigate above a coral reef line if you have a whole floor of living space under the waterline? It’s like the boathouses in some parts of the US and Europe.. technically you could hire a barge to move them but they are meant to stay in place and are usually built mostly in place.

Redwood City, CA used to have a floating community. But something I see significantly missing here is the house appears to be in the middle of the bay, so how the heck do you get out to it? The Redwood City "Docktown" was against a series of piers, you could park on the land and walk out to the house. I don't even see cleats you could tie a small boat to on this house. @5:35 look at the back of the skinny porch and you can see what appears to be plumbing and/or power entry. My main concern would be safety. They don't explain how this deals with rough seas. How do you stop water coming into your ground floor/basement when a big wave hits assuming it doesnt break the house completely? If a big storm hits do you get stuck there for days at a time? What happens with the waste? You can't even really go swimming as you're in the middle of the ocean and don't want to get swept away by a current.

I don't recall getting up and leaving the room during this video. Was there a bed anywhere in this house? It was definitely one of the most amusing. I do not think I would feel safe on as somebody else put it....water trailer park. There's nearly no kitchen they don't have like a place you can really launch boats easily or jet skis. Or even a dinghy to get to land.
Aaaarvin! As much as I dont like the new short videos, I must say that you are the common sense Guru. You are absolutely right, why would someone spend the money on this. The idea is not fully formed, it should be part of a resort of something like that.
Math doesn't add up, this can be a rental, but for 4.7 million you aren't seeing your money back in some time. But the depreciation and maintenance will probably mean it's losing value no matter the market. Plus, you probably don't own the 'lot' so you probably pay to keep it somewhere.
Did Enes and Mikey swim over to this thing? Like James Bond, take off the wetsuit and you’re dressed for a dinner party. You know that every week the S.S. Turd pulls along side and empties your holding tank. Absolutely incredible. You are essentially in a harbor where the dirtiest water accumulates. It’s a boat dock with a couple bedrooms and bathrooms. Vacation rental with nothing to do.
The underwater view would be interesting for a few days, then ho-hum. If I think of this as a weekend get-away place, not a movable house boat, that makes it more interesting to me.
Arvin, this is going no where. Its fixed. Notice @ 5:34 on the deck at the end there are two pipes coming out of the home and heading in to the water. They will be connected to services. You move that thing and you’ll rip them out and have no water or gas.
Arvin, i think this is your least researched video :( There is entire section of these type of houses that are being sold in the World Islands in Dubai and their location is actually going to be in a bit of a different spot. They will be awkwardly located super close to each other though. I was there just in June and the entire project is coming along very nicely if you look from afar. I don’t know if you’ve seen the Sweden island videos yet and want to review them - those mansions have a ballroom and ice rooms!!! However, just like everything in Dubai is - it probably will have half baked (using proper language here) because we’ve stayed just across from this model house in Monaco Voco hotel and they are already falling apart. Paint is chipping, bathrooms smell nasty from the sewer. It is fancy and expensive but these villas are being positioned as something you’d go to for a weekend to escape the city because Dubai is so polluted these days. When we were there we couldn’t even see the city because of the smog!!! Enes got lucky to get a clear shot
Better would be a Silent 60 -- 100% solar for hotel load and water maker. Can move around on electric for short distances or use diesel for longer distances. 2M or less. If you want a direct comparison to this as a yacht. (its a floating condo) Sailboats are really only nice if you want to work the sails. Its a lot of work.
Considering what the hull of my boat looks like after a season in the water, I wonder how often you need to clean those underwater windows to avoid getting barnacles and other growth covering it.
It's 20 M dirhams, he mixed it up , which is around 5,4 M USD, which is rediculous anyway, they've struggled to sell those villa because the entire concept doesn't make any sense. You feel trapped in that house, you can't even have your groceries delivered, you have to take a boat to go to the main land and then drive to the supermarket😂😂
yeah, this concept just seems like a really bad compromise on all fronts and doesn't really have a knockout feature that "makes every other compromise worth it". just budget $50k-$100k to build a giant aquarium in your bedroom with ceiling to wall glass, and that's all the potential water leak problem you'll ever have to worry about. would be cool to stay a couple of nights, I wouldn't object to that though.
Let me be frank: The concept is ridiculous! It combines all the negatives of sea water environment, without any positives. For the price I would: By a semi-remote nice house with adequate property, a Liberty/Prevost/Newell/etc. 4-slide RV and a small sporty yacht. Good luck maintaining and repairing that unmovable floating house with corals etc.!! Imagine your house being hoisted into a dry dock. Fun & entertaining video as always! You keep it real! Best wishes

I don’t know if it’s the water, the camera….but the coral (which is more dead than alive) is quite blurry. For 20M, I want to see the parasites on the gills of a tiny fish. I would find it quite frustrating if the underwater view was blurry due to the thickness and distortion of the acrylic.

I do not think I would feel safe on as somebody else put it....water trailer park. There's nearly no kitchen they don't have like a place you can really launch boats easily or jet skis. Or even a dinghy to get to land.
Thanks Arvin!
Escape hatches are essential in sleeping quarters below water.
Oh, Arvin, you had me at "Chicken Coop"...❤❤❤
Hey I love your videos. Please keep them coming
You move that thing and you’ll rip them out and have no water or gas.
looks like something a millionaire who wanted to get rid of their spouse would buy. "He/she just got drunk, then fell in"
Allegedly this is called "Pulling a Wagner", what I would never do because he was clearly innocent.
Arvin, i think this is your least researched video :(
There is entire section of these type of houses that are being sold in the World Islands in Dubai and their location is actually going to be in a bit of a different spot.
You can get a hell of a luxurious 50-foot sail yacht for 5 million USD...
Better would be a Silent 60 -- 100% solar for hotel load and water maker. Can move around on electric for short distances or use diesel for longer distances. 2M or less. If you want a direct comparison to this as a yacht. (its a floating condo)
Sailboats are really only nice if you want to work the sails. Its a lot of work.
Considering what the hull of my boat looks like after a season in the water, I wonder how often you need to clean those underwater windows to avoid getting barnacles and other growth covering it.
Very good point.
Hi Arvin, I love the contern. Have you done one on "the one" house?. I found a tiktok, but not a full review. Thanks for the content once again.
the bulletproof thing had me dying
Another great video
Some high end yachts have a window like this in the owners suite. (On a yacht most sleeping quarters are below deck.)
Hydro/Cronic..🎉Plus Visuals 😂😂😂Awesome! 😊😅🎉❤.
I took the inspiration and also converted my kitchen to a bedroom.
I've taken breakfast in bed to a new whole level.
Might be more suitable placed in a lake. With jetty access to each unit & Rent them out. A fun Air bnb idea.
5 million dollars for a kitchenette?
you must watch the whole video
3 bedrooms, 2 "could be bedrooms" and a small fridge and tiny kitchen. Oh, and you need a tender to roll to the marketplace...
yeah, this concept just seems like a really bad compromise on all fronts and doesn't really have a knockout feature that "makes every other compromise worth it". just budget $50k-$100k to build a giant aquarium in your bedroom with ceiling to wall glass, and that's all the potential water leak problem you'll ever have to worry about. would be cool to stay a couple of nights, I wouldn't object to that though.
Let me be frank:
The concept is ridiculous!
It combines all the negatives of sea water environment, without any positives.
For the price I would:
By a semi-remote nice house with adequate property, a Liberty/Prevost/Newell/etc. 4-slide RV and a small sporty yacht.
Good luck maintaining and repairing that unmovable floating house with corals etc.!! Imagine your house being hoisted into a dry dock.
Fun & entertaining video as always!
You keep it real!
Best wishes
If you are underwater with an acrylic window. what sounds come thru? Ships engines from 100 KM away?
Enes with eggs was funny 😅
And your reactions are priceless this time (all the joking etc.)
Hi Avin, really like your videos. Would really like you to make a video of the japanese inspired farmhouse Enes toured some time ago...Greetings from Germany...
Fantastic, another video feat. Enes. Hilarity ensured. Didn't watch the original clip... ridiculous house.
Exited to see more Dubai/ palm jumeriah content from you, there’s like 3 great mansion/villa tour in palm by Enes hope you react to all of them and give your thoughts
They're crap and poorly designed, not to mention they destroyed coral reefs and an astonishing amount of sea life to make them.
Three of the mansion/villa were designed by SAOTA an award winning architectural firm based out of South Africa. If we’re talking ethics and moral the entire state of California US’s bread and butter when it comes to real estate belongs to Mexico so if you’re American calm down and take a good at yourself in the mirror before moral policing the rest of the world on how to build in their “own land”
Hello! Thanks for your channels I love it. You add soo much value, not only by your smart humour by sharing your knowledge. I don't know if you have seen the house in the link below....wonder what would be your thoughts on some of the building and designing decisions. Location is not your regular market though. Cheers and more success to you.❤
😂😂😂😂 You’re awesome! I was crying laughing at your points vs the broker. That’s worth 400k to 500k max! It’s not even a house. Where was the dock?
You'll have to clean underwater windows literally everyday. And it's dark most of the time. And your window will be full of poop all of the time.
Hi, Arvin. Found out about your channel this weekend; it's a very interesting angle and entertaining. Can you review a few properties that are 4-6kk in LA?
GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR YOU HAVE LOVE your take on these OVER PRICED MONEY PITS FOR THE RICH
I met the manufacturers of these, the owner of the company. It’s a company based in Sweden, met them because I’m a Saudi and was part a meeting with the royal family. Long story short, their cost is only 200k-300k for the best ones…. And to charge 20mill 😂🤡😂
There’s this house on enes channel an off grid cabin house in Utah I think it was sold for $30M can u do a video on that? I’m always interested with houses like these because of privacy and tons of acre land u can use
they’re confused on currency - 20 million UAE dirham is close to 5 million USD
I dont care about Arvin, if he does not make money with properties anymore he would be a hell of a comedian. I always laugh so hard when I watch his vidoes
Now the bullet proof glass makes sense!
It’s obviously targeted as a vacation home/ air bnb type deal. So where’s the bbq, coffee maker, fun stuff?
Enes has finally reached his soulless peak.. incredible vwooz and no Mikey.
please review the 90 million Paris multi story Home from the Enes channel
I’m dying to see you react to his Oil Nut Bay presentations. They feel grossly overpriced. I’d love to get your take on both.
I don’t know if it’s the water, the camera….but the coral (which is more dead than alive) is quite blurry. For 20M, I want to see the parasites on the gills of a tiny fish. I would find it quite frustrating if the underwater view was blurry due to the thickness and distortion of the acrylic.
The only place where having a permanent floating settlement makes sense is like The Netherlands, where 1/3 of it is below sea level.
