      If you can get used to travelling at high speed in a small metal and glass cart sitting on top of a tank of explosives, powered by explosions, inches away from other similar carts travelling in the opposite direction, then you can get used to this bedroom.

      Depends on who designed it. To be honest it would only require high school physics to see if it was probable, and fairly easy for a civil engineer to design. Now of course the hard part is actually building it, and financing the project. I would assume the people that designed it had a high factor of safety, because I think all of us can understand how disastrous it would be if the structure failed.

      Average 30 year loan the mortgage costs on 4.7 mil is 29.7K a month. Just to break even assuming 100% bookings and with expenses, cleaning, ect.. averaging $1.5K a month you need $1,040 per night just to break even. In Dubai you can stay in luxury downtown 3 bedroom condos or in a Luxury Penthouse Dubai Marina for around $400 a night. I grew up in Seattle, WA and there was a wide variety of houseboats on Union Bay. Some were mobile, some not. Often those whose were not mobile, most were very happy with their neighborhood and didn’t feel the need to be mobile. They just really enjoyed living on the water. Others had full mobility, so they could travel to different parts of the bay and change their scenery.
    I recently learned from a Louisiana boat captain that you can tie a houseboat to a tree and live there. It does have to be mobile, in case the fisheries need it moved (he said that was uncommon) or for river traffic.

    some remarks: guess he ment 20m AED. It is a floating house, not a house boat. Many of them also have been build in rivers in multiple cities and also in Dubai Creek. Floating around the world is not really something they want you to do as most islands are private and for sure the owners dont want a floating house in front of their island. but the concept is still kind of cool, have a view on the map and see how the world is connected to Downtown and the rest of Dubai via Dubai Creek. However you need a real boat for it, not a floating home :)

    One thing no one ever talks about with Dubai is the water there is severely polluted. They blame the water stagnating from poor design for the smelly water but it’s actually sewage. My brother went swimming there, got really sick, & a doctor spilled the beans to him in the hospital. He had a skin infection that spread internally that was so bad they had to pump him full of heavy duty dangerous antibiotics (that damages your liver) for 2 weeks to save his life.

    • @eugenes5788
      @eugenes5788 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow! That’s crazy! We were just there in June in those islands and noticed that water was super salty. I know they use the water from the gulf and desalinate it and pour the salt right back in but it makes perfect sense about waste being dumped back in the water. Dubai’s air is also super smoky. You can see it from these island - so foggy at any time. I’m not sure how Enes was able to get such a clear shot

    • @LudiCrust.
      @LudiCrust. 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@eugenes5788yea I noticed they cut a lot of corners there - like Burj Khalifa not being connected to city sewers so they have to truck out the sewage. Dubai is a cool city but only to visit & when you’re there definitely stick to swimming in the pools. I imagine that water is even worse than the water off San Diego from Tijuana’s sewage bc so much of it is stagnant. The more you think about it the grosser it is.

    Redwood City, CA used to have a floating community. But something I see significantly missing here is the house appears to be in the middle of the bay, so how the heck do you get out to it? The Redwood City "Docktown" was against a series of piers, you could park on the land and walk out to the house. I don't even see cleats you could tie a small boat to on this house.
    @5:35 look at the back of the skinny porch and you can see what appears to be plumbing and/or power entry. It looks pretty sketchy given that it could get hit by another boat etc.

How do you stop water coming into your ground floor/basement when a big wave hits assuming it doesnt break the house completely? If a big storm hits do you get stuck there for days at a time? Did Enes and Mikey swim over to this thing? Like James Bond, take off the wetsuit and you’re dressed for a dinner party.
    You know that every week the S.S. Turd pulls along side and empties your holding tank.
    Absolutely incredible. You are essentially in a harbor where the dirtiest water accumulates. It’s a boat dock with a couple bedrooms and bathrooms. Vacation rental with nothing to do.

    The underwater view would be interesting for a few days, then ho-hum. If I think of this as a weekend get-away place, not a movable house boat, that makes it more interesting to me.

    Arvin, this is going no where. Its fixed. Notice @ 5:34 on the deck at the end there are two pipes coming out of the home and heading in to the water. They will be connected to services. You move that thing and you’ll rip them out and have no water or gas.

    Arvin, i think this is your least researched video :(
    There is entire section of these type of houses that are being sold in the World Islands in Dubai and their location is actually going to be in a bit of a different spot. They will be awkwardly located super close to each other though. I was there just in June and the entire project is coming along very nicely if you look from afar. I don’t know if you’ve seen the Sweden island videos yet and want to review them - those mansions have a ballroom and ice rooms!!!
    However, just like everything in Dubai is - it probably will have half baked (using proper language here) because we’ve stayed just across from this model house in Monaco Voco hotel and they are already falling apart. Paint is chipping, bathrooms smell nasty from the sewer. It is fancy and expensive but these villas are being positioned as something you’d go to for a weekend to escape the city because Dubai is so polluted these days. When we were there we couldn’t even see the city because of the smog!!! Enes got lucky to get a clear shot

    • @redwolfexr
      @redwolfexr 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Better would be a Silent 60 -- 100% solar for hotel load and water maker. Can move around on electric for short distances or use diesel for longer distances. 2M or less. If you want a direct comparison to this as a yacht. (its a floating condo)
      Sailboats are really only nice if you want to work the sails. Its a lot of work.

    Considering what the hull of my boat looks like after a season in the water, I wonder how often you need to clean those underwater windows to avoid getting barnacles and other growth covering it.

    It's 20 M dirhams, he mixed it up , which is around 5,4 M USD, which is rediculous anyway, they've struggled to sell those villa because the entire concept doesn't make any sense. You feel trapped in that house, you can't even have your groceries delivered, you have to take a boat to go to the main land and then drive to the supermarket😂😂

    yeah, this concept just seems like a really bad compromise on all fronts and doesn't really have a knockout feature that "makes every other compromise worth it". just budget $50k-$100k to build a giant aquarium in your bedroom with ceiling to wall glass, and that's all the potential water leak problem you'll ever have to worry about. would be cool to stay a couple of nights, I wouldn't object to that though.

  • @asc23channel
    @asc23channel 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Let me be frank:
    The concept is ridiculous!
    It combines all the negatives of sea water environment, without any positives.
    For the price I would:
    By a semi-remote nice house with adequate property, a Liberty/Prevost/Newell/etc. 4-slide RV and a small sporty yacht.
    Good luck maintaining and repairing that unmovable floating house with corals etc.!! Imagine your house being hoisted into a dry dock.
    Fun & entertaining video as always!
    You keep it real!
    Best wishes

      Three of the mansion/villa were designed by SAOTA an award winning architectural firm based out of South Africa. If we’re talking ethics and moral the entire state of California US’s bread and butter when it comes to real estate belongs to Mexico so if you’re American calm down and take a good at yourself in the mirror before moral policing the rest of the world on how to build in their “own land”

    I don’t know if it’s the water, the camera….but the coral (which is more dead than alive) is quite blurry. For 20M, I want to see the parasites on the gills of a tiny fish. I would find it quite frustrating if the underwater view was blurry due to the thickness and distortion of the acrylic.

    The only place where having a permanent floating settlement makes sense is like The Netherlands, where 1/3 of it is below sea level.
