Just love your videos. I always get a good laugh. You can tell you are best friends. I wish I lived closer to your shop, but I could never take that weather. I live in New Orleans and at Christmas we had a low of 25 and a high of 35 and I hated it. I stayed wrapped up in my chair stitching. We may have one freeze a year. Some years we never get to freezing which is just fine with me. Todays high will be around 70, my kind of weather. Keep up the good work.
Just discovered your channel from a shout out on Sew n' Sew's channel! So glad I did, you two are hilarious and have lovely stitching! Thank you for the toaster story, it reminded me of a similar trick my dad played on me. I was home from college one summer, and was refilling ice cube trays with hot water. Mom asked me why, and I said Dad ( our high school's science teacher) had told me that the shock of the hot water makes it freeze faster. My mom looked at Dad who burst out laughing and confessed he had said it as a joke... when I was 8! I'd been making ice that way for 12+ years! 🤦

Ok ladies...I have a tendency to do rando things that others find questionable. When I was in high school (a lllooonnnngggg time ago), and did something a little less than academic, my friends would say "my name is Jenni and my favorite color is clear!" (Were they really my friends??🤔😁). Now, when I do or say something a little less than average thinking ability, my 22 year old son points at me, looks at has dad and says, "Masters degree Dad, Masters degree"...and I BIRTHED him!!!! So, we can all just own that our Superpower is the ability to laugh at ourselves with others and move on! Great content as always. Happy stitching!!
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard while watching a flosstube 😂 😂! Between Shelly's dry wit and Justine's infectious laugh, I felt like I was at a comedy club for stitchers. I'm still trying to decide if getting locked in the barn was more hysterical than the toaster story was. (Shelly, I would have totally been talking to that stupid toaster too. And Justine, I've had my own funny stories of locking myself out of the house and getting stuck on the back porch for an hour or 2 until I got rescued.) I'm pretty far from Minnesota, but if I ever get out that way, I want to make sure I can visit your shop and get a seat in the live studio audience for one of your flosstube tapings! It's got to be even funnier in person! Shelly, your wips are just beautiful! I love everything you're working on. I would watch you two if you were on EVERY day of the week! Omg such funny stories today… Justine, when Shelly told the barn story I was picturing the I Love Lucy Show when she got locked in the freezer and her eyelashes were huge icicles! And the toaster story… I was laughing so hard I was crying! That would be me… believing the toaster was voice activated. I am a rule follower. Here’s a story from me. When my husband and I were first dating (over 40 years ago) I lived in a very rural area. When he would be driving me home after a date we would pass a farm with a chicken coop and the lights would always be on in the chicken coop no matter how late it was. I mentioned to him how weird it was that they never turned the lights off. He said to me, “Didn’t you know that’s how they got the name chickens? They are afraid of the dark”! Well didn’t I go to work the next day and tell people all about how chickens got their name and you can imagine the teasing I was victim to! We all need to be able to laugh at ourselves. Ladies I found you recently and have watched all your videos in the last 3 weeks....So...I likely remember more of what you have said than you do :). I so appreciate the WIP parade Shelly, because for the last 10 episodes I have been wondering what happened to Halloween Quaker and Ink Circles Roses. Can't believe how vested I am in you finishing. Ha! vicarious satisfaction. My one observation after watching your WIPs that you probably realize, is that with the exception of 2 or 3, they are all very involved pieces. You need the satisfaction of some quick finishes I think to keep your own mood light. Thanks for sharing your toaster and barn moments. I feel like I have found my people! Justine, I know in advance that your WIP parade is going to give me hives or a panic attack or both :). Only because it will make me own up to mine!

I also thought the What Remains is Love was too pink, so I used GAST Old Red Paint and WDW Baked Apple. I really love the dark red tones. Great program as always.
I live north of the cities and was out geocaching Sunday. I even thought, 'man it is warm out'. Checked the temp and it was 28! So yes, I understand what you mean. I am stitching 10,000 Lakes every Monday this year. I figured out if I stitch 340 stitches per Monday, it will be done at the end of the year
Thanks for the GREAT laughs ladies! The toaster story was hysterical and Justine locking herself in the barn, oh my! Many years ago my brother shut the chicken house door before he left for school, not knowing that my mom was in there. This was before cell phones and she was locked in there for the entire morning. Finally a neighbor heard her calling for help and let her out! And in defense of Shelley, I walked into a pitch dark bathroom at Culver's. So used to motion sensor lights I started waving my arms all around trying to get the light to come on. Then it dawned on me to feel around for the switch which was on the wall! LOL Your stitching was great as always. Love you guys!

A famous story in our family is an uncle was sent to the grocery store to buy grapes and he came back with grapefruit. Maybe not as funny, but we burst in laughter every single time. Loved all the wips that Shelly shared. Normally I start and rarely finish a project but this year I am working on a piece until it is done and then move on to the next oldest. Hi!! I am stitching WRM on 36ct Brenda's Brew by R&R. That is the called-for that is listed on my pattern. I feel like I heard that she made a change to the called for fabric at some point, but that's what mine called for. (I also could have dreamt that!) I love it. Mine seems darker than a lot of them that I have seen. Maybe just a weird dye batch from R&R. Justine probably still has some of this fabric left, if you wish to contact her.
Good to see you ladies! I wish I could have made it down there for the Jan 24 hours! I don't think I will make April either, but will keep trying as you do them. Shelly, I've heard of others getting caught by the toaster trick I'm sure it wasn't so funny at the time, but glad you can laugh about it anyway. Justine, I once locked myself in a bathroom with an old sticky door... couldn't figure out the silly mechanism for unlocking (it wasn't a typical lock). Imagine my panic though.... the homeowner (my sister-in-law) finally came by because she needed to use the facilities and talked me out of my predicament through the locked door. We both had a good laugh. In any case, I hope to see you two sometime soon, but it will likely be may or June as I am face down into tax documents for a few months now. Cheers!

Oh my word the barn story. I can imagine you looking around saying ohh 😮 and the toaster story I hate to admit but I probably would have done the same thing.

I live north of the cities and was out geocaching Sunday. I even thought, 'man it is warm out'. Checked the temp and it was 28! So yes, I understand what you mean. I am stitching 10,000 Lakes every Monday this year. I figured out if I stitch 340 stitches per Monday, it will be done at the end of the year

Thanks for the GREAT laughs ladies! The toaster story was hysterical and Justine locking herself in the barn, oh my! Many years ago my brother shut the chicken house door before he left for school, not knowing that my mom was in there. This was before cell phones and she was locked in there for the entire morning. Finally a neighbor heard her calling for help and let her out! And in defense of Shelley, I walked into a pitch dark bathroom at Culver's. So used to motion sensor lights I started waving my arms all around trying to get the light to come on. Then it dawned on me to feel around for the switch which was on the wall! LOL Your stitching was great as always. Love you guys!

A famous story in our family is an uncle was sent to the grocery store to buy grapes and he came back with grapefruit. Maybe not as funny, but we burst in laughter every single time. I can't stitch while I watch you two. I just giggle. The barn story from Justine was funny. The toaster story from Shelly was hilarious! Shelly, you and I share the same birth date, Feb 15. Loved all the wips that Shelly shared. Normally I start and rarely finish a project but this year I am working on a piece until it is done and then move on to the next oldest. Hi!! I am stitching WRM on 36ct Brenda's Brew by R&R. That is the called-for that is listed on my pattern. I feel like I heard that she made a change to the called for fabric at some point, but that's what mine called for. (I also could have dreamt that!) I love it. Mine seems darker than a lot of them that I have seen. Maybe just a weird dye batch from R&R. Justine probably still has some of this fabric left, if you wish to contact her.

Good to see you ladies! I wish I could have made it down there for the Jan 24 hours! I don't think I will make April either, but will keep trying as you do them. Shelly, I've heard of others getting caught by the toaster trick I'm sure it wasn't so funny at the time, but glad you can laugh about it anyway. Justine, I once locked myself in a bathroom with an old sticky door... couldn't figure out the silly mechanism for unlocking (it wasn't a typical lock). Imagine my panic though.... the homeowner (my sister-in-law) finally came by because she needed to use the facilities and talked me out of my predicament through the locked door. We both had a good laugh. In any case, I hope to see you two sometime soon, but it will likely be may or June as I am face down into tax documents for a few months now. Cheers!
