Finally made my way to your shop late on Friday. The gal that helped me was wonderful. I was able to find a pattern I was looking for and picked up a lot of Weeks, Classic Colorworks, and Gentle Arts threads. I need to make more time to look at everything next time I get there. I remember seeing his commercials back in the day when watching tv on Friday night with my family as a kid. I loved it when he sang Ho Ho Ho Green Giant. I also liked seeing Mrs. Beasley. You gals have so much fun, and such a great friendship. I just love your videos! I've got a little 411 on the backing fabric for the Jolly Green Giant "antique". (Lord, that hurt!) I had a "Gunne Sax" dress out of that print. Me, and 40 of my closest friends. Our Junior High choir picked that fabric for our concert dresses. I remember we drove to every "House of Fabrics" store in Utah to get enough bolts for every mom/grandmother to sew those VERY green dresses! So, that puts it at about 1976-77ish. My favorite quilt is a shaggy old patchwork throw that has multiple squares of that green. I'd know those flowers anywhere! LOL (Kinda fitting it ended up paired with a green GIANT. Our choir looked like a green nightmare but we thought we rocked big!)
Re your Jolly Green Giant ornament from Texas- I remember back in the 80s seeing a hand drawn pattern only (no pic) in a store. Back then there was a bin of hand drawn chart only designs and I think the Jolly Green Giant was one of them 😊

Jeanine, you could make the needle tags for each person at 24 hours without the stitching. Each person could choose and stitch their own pattern themselves with their choice of thread.

I'm a paper crafter as well as fabric crafter. There is a product out for "crafting" that removes sharpie off hands, clothes etc. it's called Amodex you might want to try that on you piece that has the sharpie.
Thanks for sharing I always thoroughly enjoy your videos. Shelly 90% rubbing alcohol will take out permanent marker. I once used it to remove a label I had written directly on the back of a quilt. And the label had been there several years. Make sure to get 90% or more!

Have you heard of the soap Synthrapol? I'm a quilter, and this soap will remove all colors... it basically works on a "free radical" concept. Perhaps you could test it. I use it to prewash fabric. I've also soaked a stained quilt in it, and was successful. Just ran across your vlog a couple days ago... love it! It's hard to divide my time between cross stitch and quilting! --Annette in Omaha

The Jolly Green Giant stitch is awesome. My dad had a college friend from NJ who saw the big Green Giant on 169 up at Le Sueur (they went to Gustavus) and he later described my dad to his wife as a Scandinavian Jolly Green Giant. What a great find!
The Jolly Green Giant by Le Sueur is WAY smaller than the 60 foot green guy we have here in Blue Earth. You need to come see him and stop in at Welcome Stitchery!

I'm a paper crafter as well as fabric crafter. There is a product out for "crafting" that removes sharpie off hands, clothes etc. it's called Amodex you might want to try that on you piece that has the sharpie.

Thanks for sharing I always thoroughly enjoy your videos. Shelly 90% rubbing alcohol will take out permanent marker. I once used it to remove a label I had written directly on the back of a quilt. And the label had been there several years. Make sure to get 90% or more!

Try hand sanitizer on the sharpie, it will take sharpie off walls, kids faces ( yes my grandkids colored their faces with black sharpie). Worth a try.

Have you heard of the soap Synthrapol? I'm a quilter, and this soap will remove all colors... it basically works on a "free radical" concept. Perhaps you could test it. I use it to prewash fabric. I've also soaked a stained quilt in it, and was successful. Just ran across your vlog a couple days ago... love it! It's hard to divide my time between cross stitch and quilting! --Annette in Omaha

The Jolly Green Giant stitch is awesome. My dad had a college friend from NJ who saw the big Green Giant on 169 up at Le Sueur (they went to Gustavus) and he later described my dad to his wife as a Scandinavian Jolly Green Giant. What a great find!

Justine, finding Mrs. Beasley isn't as bad as having American Girl make a 'historical' doll wearing the exact outfits I wore in high school!! 😱😩 So instead of saying my age, now I just say I'm vintage! 😁 Like your solution for your 12th block of Hawk Run Hollow, Shelly!
