I think they know bc they put a new update which the only purpose was to remove the ability to homebrew. Does anyone know how to get rid of update notifications (with or without homebrew) so I don’t accidentally click install and lose my ability to homebrew my ds forever? Pls
I have a modded original Japanese 3ds. I got it really cheap because the joystick was drifting and the right click was not working. I ended up being able to fix both of those issues. Now I have an amazing 3ds and I didn’t even have to pay my life savings for it!
i've been waiting for this video agh! if anyone is looking for a sign to mod your 3ds, THIS IS IT. it's extremely easy and SO worth it. it gives a whole new life to the 3ds. i love this console now even more than i did in it's golden years. it's just amazing :)

i modded my bfs (now my) 3ds just before the 11.17 update, like literally a few hours before it came out, its kinda terrifying to think of what may have happened if i did it whilst the update was being pumped out
if you want to mod your 3DS, do NOT update your console to 11.17. about two weeks ago, nintendo released an update that basically breaks most of the modding techniques.

I updated mine without realizing it would break the old way of hacking the system so it took me an ENTIRE DAY to get the new, far more complicated way to work. Definitely worth it though, as now I have access to free, adorable themes and so much more! I really don't understand why Nintendo feels the way they do. I mean, the Sims community and so many others frequently mod their games so why is modding a console worse? I mean you bought it after all. (Maybe I'm missing legal info but that's my take as of my current knowledge about the situation lol)
Also, for anyone who (like me) idiotically downloaded the latest update to your DS.. your best bet if you have one, is a gaming laptop with an emulator like Citra. Not the same I know, but it's better than nothing. 🤷🏻♀️ If you know of a workaround for the update, please share.

i modded my 2ds about a year ago with the help of a friend, and I don't regret a thing. I'll need a bigger SD card for it, but I'll be fine at the moment (I mainly just play tomodachi life and the older pokemon games on it tbh)

1:00 Optimize Still offers capture card installations for $200 (yes, still alot, but not as much as $1k). although they do go in and out of stock alot. 1:40 you can also get multiple copies of a game (from different regions). i Bought Miitopia in march before the eshop closed (north american version). When i hacked my 3ds, i got the european version (as a joke to see what would happen) and it actually worked.

Very simple I did it in less than weekend! Few 3-5 hours tops.

I did it last week, it’s so simple !! It took me around an hour and I had never modded a console before :)

You can still mod a new 3ds with out external hardware and you need luma 12.0 at least to update
