Up there with season 6 as my favorite season of Hell’s Kitchen due to how amazing and promising most of the chefs were this season and really great choices for the final 4 and the 2 finalists.
Skill-wise this season is probably one of the best, if not the best. But drama-wise this is one of the most underwhelming season. The producers must be kicking themselves for not finding another elise/sabrina in this season.
Season 13 was definitely Sterling and season 4 was Petroza, I feel like those two and Milly are the holy trinity of contestants everyone loves and wish won their respective seasons
@@nachoalvarez7171 What the hell are you talking about? Nick didn't get booted during service. He was eliminated like normal here and then in Season 17 he made it to 3rd place and only got "eliminated" because he didn't score as many points as Ben or Michelle during the finalist challenge. What are you smoking?
Nick improved immensely in HK17 compared to where he was in HK14 by his own admission he got overwhelmed too easily and that led to him forgetting to start a meat order that T called out and that mistake caught up with him by the time it was his turn to run the pass. In HK17 he was brilliant perhaps the most improved chef in the competition imo.
10:00-10:15 Michael is in Complete Denial that he could've given someone on The Blue Team A Serious Burn because he stuck a Burning Hot Pan under someone else's station! Once again we've found Another Chef breaking what I feel is a Core Area in Catering in this case Food Hygiene and Safety! What I'm sure will worry some people is that he's going back to working as the chef in a Retirement Home, hope he looks after the residents better than he looked after his teammates here!
Yeah, that's how I was feeling, too. Plastic in a salad, as fundamental of a mistake as it is, should have been caught at the hot plate. If Gordon didn't notice that pan, it could have very well cost somebody not just their spot in hell's kitchen, but the functionality of one of their limbs. Third degree burns heal horribly, skin crafts are thin and sensitive, and if a nerve gets damaged, that's it.
Kitchens in retirement and care homes are notoriously shit. Filthy, bland food, lowest quality ingredients. Alzheimer patients aren't likely to complain and if they do, no one cares or listens
Christina from Season 4 burnt Gordon's hand twice while delivering hot pan Giovanni from Season 5 accidentally burning Robert's hand because of hot pan. Those contestants should learn that you should warn somebody when there's hot pan!
Kind of knew Meghan was going to win from the very beginning just by the way she carried herself. Of course, it started to be proven as she consistently cooked amazingly.
Alison should have been given the final black jacket over Josh. She had one bad service, yes it was awful but overall in services she was consistently good. She was so humble in leaving and probably gained much more than most chefs who come to hells kitchen due to her ability to take advice from chef. Had she performed well, or even average, in that black jacket service then she would have been given it over the egoistic, overconfident Josh
And had Josh been eliminated when he should have, he would not have been eligible to come back for the Season 17 All-Stars (as it was for black jackets only), where both the blue team and the red team rejected him and he got kicked out of the competition mid-service.
9:16 Okay, even as a layperson, this season's Michael made my blood boil. He almost indirectly destroyed someone else's ability to cook because he *thought* he was protecting them. By putting a hot pan where it doesn't belong.
If Bret didn't get injured at that time, Josh will be eliminated soon. I still mad that Josh made it to Black Jacket over Allison just because she messed up one service! This is like Matt and Jen from Season 4 got Black Jacket over Louross and Sabrina over Vinny from Season 8 all over again!
My favourite thing about the eliminations is when someone who's up says that they want to cook with the other team, and start rambling about how much better they would do or that they'd be accepted better. The camera then just clips to the other team, all looking incredulous or nervous 😂
Dangit! 23-24 minutes late! Oh well.. I think this is my favorite series in anything that could be so real and heartfelt. You love the people on this show and start to connect with certain chefs and you feel their heartbreak for leaving. This gives an amazing impact on a lot of people who believe in what they do in this show. A lot of inspired cooks who watch stuff like this.. it just helps making that feeling and passion even stronger, pushing everyone to do their best and thrive even more for what they want to do and to follow their dream. It really changes everyone. It's just amazing how this show helps people to follow their dreams towards cooking and making delicious food for others and to have that feeling and connection with ingredients and food. One word for this entire series. Inspiring.
Really hope Bret got his back fixed. My dad had the same problem. Not 24 hours after surgery he wasn't in any pain anymore. So glad he was able to come back & kick ass.
33:39 I love it when that sound happens cause that mean someone messed up on service or Gordon does something during elimination that he usually does not do
I kind of wish they added Gordon Ramsey's closing lines on those he eliminates at the end of the episode. But hey, I guess that's another compilation in the making.

I liked Meghan. Hell's Kitchen seemed a bit easy for her. That's my impression. I know we never see the full picture and get total context because it's a TV show, but clearly there is a bond that formed between Meghan and Milly. That's why Meghan didn't nominate him when she should have. Ramsay and her gave he opportunities I don't think he would have gotten without HK.
Meghan was perhaps the greatest chef in Hell's Kitchen. This season really was fantastic with its chefs: Meghan, T, Michelle, Milly and Nick were all amazing chefs and personalities. Bret was clearly a great chef who was sadly wiped out through injury. Alison was a strong chef, and although not as good as their competition, I do believe that Josh, Randy and even Adam are good chefs, with Randy and Adam being quite likable. Personal favourite was Milly for obvious reasons.
I mean, the moment he announced Megan as one of the finalists, we all knew who was competing for 2nd place at the end. That woman was a cooking MACHINE.

The way he says "it was a fucking honor" you can tell how bad he wanted to be there 😭
Edit: Milly also made me cry, so sincere and happy at the end, what a good cast this was

This. Say what you will about Bret and his slightly chauvinistic tendencies, but I respect him for openly shedding tears multiple times throughout the series. He was not afraid to show up and own his emotions when things got tense.

It's not shown here but I did admire Milly's conviction in defending Michael in episode 2 (maybe it was episode 3, but service 2)
It was Episode 2 when that happened. Episode 3 was when Michael was eliminated due to making an error that could've led to a severe burn on another contestant.
@@chrismathgenius Michael had the nerve to claim that Nick or Adam should have gone for raw pork/ lamb and plastic in a salad respectively (raw pork or lamb could have led to food poisoning and even worse for a pregnant lady in the dining room, and plastic in a salad could have sliced someone’s throat open, but they are small fry compared to leaving a smoking hot pan on some cold trays because they could have injured someone who would need a skin graft. Ramsay made the CORRECT decision sending Michael home.
@Default Michael made 1 salad early, no reason to go home

Gordon actually taught me how much pro people pay attention to confident behaviour. there are things to learn from him even if you dont cook, I love this guy.

Little Goofball That’s probably why they kept Jackie in season 15, Paulie in Season 16, and brought Elise back in Season 17

Alzheimer patients aren't likely to complain and if they do, no one cares or listens
i don’t get were he thought he should not have gone home for that, Because if he would’ve burned somebody he definitely would’ve sent someone home
Christina from Season 4 burnt Gordon's hand twice while delivering hot pan
Giovanni from Season 5 accidentally burning Robert's hand because of hot pan.
Those contestants should learn that you should warn somebody when there's hot pan!
This tells me that HK is not training people properly as to their safety regulations. This should be covered in every kitchen for new staff.
Yeh
And had Josh been eliminated when he should have, he would not have been eligible to come back for the Season 17 All-Stars (as it was for black jackets only), where both the blue team and the red team rejected him and he got kicked out of the competition mid-service.
Josh honestly wasn't that bad on this season but All Star Season, he's a disaster. He's so bad, he got kicked out in mid service.

Inspiring.

@@ahzar4384 bret's slipped disc lmao
sciatic nerve due to lumbar herniation. it's not as scary and it sounds, the pain is good because you quickly jerk your body off to the unpainful position. what causes it? posture, it's the position of your spine. if your leg gets nervous impingement then it's at the low back, at the lumbar region. meaning you either curved to too much forward or curved it too much backwards. people with lordosis who arent able to flatten their back usually have extended it too much.
