- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on the Vitória-Minas Railway, the third part of the journey (out of four) between Governador Valadares and Desembargador Drumond
in the Brazilian Federal State Minas Gerais in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Vitória-Minas Railway (Estrada de Ferro Vitória a Minas; EFVM) is a metre gauge railway line linking the cities of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais and Vitória, Espírito Santo, in Brazil. It is a 905 km line with a minimum curve radius of 195 metres and a maximum ramp of 1.5%, which allows a maximum speed of 67 kilometres per hour. The first stretch of the railway was inaugurated in 1904 with the initial aim of transporting passengers by rail and transporting the coffee production of the Rio Doce Valley and Espírito Santo. However, its focus changed in 1908 transporting the iron ore to the port complexes of Espírito Santo. In 1991, the railway reached the capital of Minas Gerais.
The train crosses a region with a significant amount of mountains and rivers and typical vegetation alternating between Atlantic Forest and Cerrado, with a large part of its length on the banks of the Doce River, until it reaches the beaches of Espírito Santo.
Together with the Carajás Railway (Pará-Maranhão) in the Northeast of Brazil, it is one of the last railways to carry out passenger transport over long distances, maintaining a total of 30 boarding and disembarking points served along the 664 kilometres covered by the passenger train. A train departs daily from Cariacica, in the metropolitan region of Vitória, Espírito Santo, bound for Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais and in the opposite direction. Altogether it is a 13h 30 min journey. Both lines are operated by Vale Company which has an extensive logistics network to quickly integrate mines, railroads, ships and ports present on approximately 2000 kilometres of railroad network in Brazil.
I would like to thank Vale for allowing me to record this video and for all the valuable help from the staff.

The excerpt from Governador Valadares/João Monlevade is the most beautiful in my opinion... thank you for your work, congratulations 👍
@Zebode930 Thank you too for your compliments. It is a very nice part indeed.
@maquinistacamarada Obrigado.
I think this is the best part of the whole David Sousa Express trip so far! After passing through the city of Governador Valadares, the stretch from Ipatinga to Drummond is certainly exciting! Lots of tunnels and bridges. If before the journey had been a bit boring with long straight stretches on the bends of the Rio Doce, the Piracicaba river and the Usiminas and Aperam steelworks make the climb towards Belo Horizonte more exciting. We hope soon to conclude this beautiful journey in the heart of green Brazil, with the hope of seeing other lines in the country or South America. Congratulations for the accuracy and documentation. I learned that the government in Brasilia is deciding to build a high-speed line between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. We hope it is economically feasible in the future. Excellent !!!!!!!!!!!
@wladislaw79 we all hope so, for the new line... thank you for your comment.
Thanks for the third part. Nice cab ride in a very beautiful sunny day. After one hour of this ride, the landscapes change and are more hilly, more interesting and towards the end very green (frequent rain in.November)
I'm appreciated labdscapes seen at 2h12m.37sec and from 2h18 to 2h19. Concerning the connections on.the track, at my humble opinion, it is rarher the word "junction" which should be used, as in the British cab ride. Thank you for all infos given in each ride and for the work made in the three rides.👍👍
I am not sure, Junction would mean that there is somewhere else to go (railway lines diverging from a point), these are double crossovers used to move train from one to another track of the same line. We would call them (in our local railway terminology) "A-V link" but they would usually be immediately adjacent to the end of the station (which multiple tracks for trains passing and overtaking) to allow trains to go to both tracks. But this is rather different type of operation to what we see in Europe.
"Crossover" is the common term for this in North America as well. "Junction" is used in a different context, as mentioned by the comment above me, where you might have two or more lines diverging towards different destinations.

It gets mountainous and spectacular as we climb towards Belo Horizonte, with many tunnels and bridges. Brazil is a very beautiful country, great to explore it through your videos, thanks a lot, greetings from a traveller from Germany!
@roadsexplore It really is! I am glad that you are joining me on my journeys across Brazil.
Parabéns pelo se perfeito trabalho. Maravilhoso vídeo, agora aguardando ansioso a última parte. Minas Gerais é maravilhoso!!!
@ronaldooliveira5131 Obrigado.
Buona giornata e buona Immacolata Concezione.
Ciao.
Thank you, part four will finished at night but still very beautiful the sunset!
At minute 12:40 we see the safety locomotive of section 1288, a "beater" that runs in front of the passenger train in the opposite direction, ensuring that there is no broken rail, buckling or fall to the embankment, which guarantees the safety of the 1400 passengers on the train. train and transport
@pauloaugusto4505 Thank you f or that information.
Amazing information. I know there used to be practice (in Yugoslavia) that there would be a special train running before VIP train (carrying The President For Life), but I didn't expect it here for this service, though it does make very good sense.
So nice videos
Thanks.
@@RailRelaxation very good
Another great video, cool to see the different track width used in Brazil, thanks for going around the world to show these places 👍🇧🇷
@peeryoutube Glad you enjoyed it! It was my pleasure.

@Evertonmz94 Isso é muito bom. Desinvolvimento das ferrovias é uito importante.

@EntertainmentWorldz Appreciate it.
Great videos and rides. Now what's missing is the USA Cajon Pass, Techahapi Loop and whatever they're called
@hope8612 Thanks f or the suggestion. Who knows, one day....
Please kkkkkkk L.A to Barstow
@philippedesaint-martin4815 Thank you very much for reminding me. I did make an error in the French language, it is part 3 of the whole video.
This entire railway is otherworldly, from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to Desembargador Drummond. 😮 Lush vegetation (I was hoping for more palm trees😊), mysterious mini- mountains reminiscent of Britain, huge areas with no inhabitants! The temperatures at this time of the year ?Governador Valadares at 6:33PM today: 33 Celsius 🔥! The railway workers should be naked😂! I'm disappointed that I can't get more than 1440p60 HD quality on my brand new LG television. Why can't I get 4K?
@Fierbepere Probably it is the internet connection. If you have a big screen TV 4K image requires quite fast and stable connection.
@RailRelaxation I have 300 mbps and the connection is stable. Moreover, I can view in 4K all your previous 4K videos. For instance, Klagenfurt-Leoben and others. So it's not the internet connection.
@Fierbepere Sorry, I don't know what could it be. I hope it will be better.
when you said workers should be naked, I fell off my chair laughing

very nice!
Thank you enjoy it
Nice video
Thanks
@@RailRelaxation your welcome
@montgomeryscott1656 Es ist wahr.
Always interesting! There are no signals along the tracks. How is traffic regulated: by telephone or radio?
Radio, notice the radio towers on every crossover.
ok :) But these towers could only be used to control the switches@@ZvonimirZelenika
ATC cab Signal.
