**LYRICS**
Wayfaring warrior soul - still wild
The archer stands
Arrow measured to the goal - sing of
Strong and living man
In his mind there is a vision wandring
Through the forest town
Telling of riches only given if through
The woods the way is found
Crying ah! beautiful dancers ...wake up
From your sleep!
Ahhh gentle romancers...drink of love
So sweet!
Treasure glowing in their eyes - forest
Deepens dark their dream
Keep to the pathway he advise the woods
Are more than they might seem
Heed you now the apparition bending never
Ending sounds
Call you into her mystery - are your eyes
Not sparkling now?
Sighing ahh! take you no warning -
Make no foolish fight
Ahh, think not of morning - lie here
Through the night!
Beauty take us! they call in my arms!
They hear her say
Silken web falls - mist illusion rips away
Helpless! helpless! now they scream
Helpless on the path he stands
And awakens from his dream singing string
Beneath his hand
Gentle archer ages old - release the aim
Free the goal
Roll your arrow to my soul - release the aim
Free the go

We’re heading back out on tour! Check out dates here: www.heart-music.com/
this is far better than the studio version
I was at your concert in Atlanta this past August! Your performances are still as amazing as they were in the 1970s! I feel so privileged to have gotten to see you in concert this year! 💖
I am currently trying to learn to play Dream Of The Archer, on mandolin. I love this live version!!!!
My absolute most favorite song you ever composed. I took me forever but I can play it. Thanks for the tips Nancy. Perhaps it's time Heart makes another mandolin song, but this time Nancy has a lead vocal! Love you all of you forever. Thank you!
thebandheart I hope you have fun!
Possibly THE best Heart song ever written. Amazing...
My all time favorite.
Possibly the BEST SONG EVER WRITTEN.......period
Nah ... I don't think so. Good, but not the best.
agreed. but still a gem!
Yes Ma'am love love this
I am always blown away by Heart's 1970's songs. So sophisticated and unique. Also blown way by Ann's musicianship - top vocalist in the rock world and can also play guitar and flute and god knows what else. And Nancy the greatest female rock guitar player ever...oh I just love them and am grateful that I saw them live in the 70's~

saw them in the 70s ( the tour with this album) and 2014-15(not sure) they were great
Little Queen is a gypsy hidden treasure. Dream of the Archer is when you find it!
Went I went to war in the persian gulf back in the early 90's, I was in the navy, and out there on the worlds oceans there is no radio. I had only my Heart cassettes and a battery powered walkman to keep me sane. I listened to them pretty much every day. Heart has been my all time favorite band. Watching you guys play the strings in this video always amazes me at the level of skill it takes to do what you do.
Thank you for your service Tera!
Tera Tokomi, thank you for your service. Glad you're back and safe.
❤
Tera Tokomi thanks for your service, dog and butterfly ,minstral winds, awesome.
if your your children enjoy music, please let them hear this. This should continue.
Loved this album ! The Acoustic songs are timeless. Ann Wilson what a voice. A legend!
nancy rocks the mandolin! love it!! everything about this song is so strong and magical!
Best mandolin ever!! Oh, how I would love to hear this LIVE again!
I have watched this vid probably 50 times in the last week. I just cannot believe how incredible Ann's voice is! She gives me the escape into total peace that my waking conscious needs. How can any one human be the definition of vocal perfection as she can? I find myself needing to hear her sing on a daily basis to keep my sanity. Dreamboat Annie is one of my favorites, so soothing.
chryslercorners WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? THIS IS JUST BRILLIANT. I LOVE THEIR OLDER VIDEOS ESPECIALLY THE STUFF WITH MIKE FISHER ON GUITAR AND MIKE DEROSSIER ON DRUMS.
+chryslercorners hey, you're not the only one who feels this way about Ann's remarkable vocals. Check out the video and watch and listen...
When this album came out, I was in High School and received it as a gift. This was, and has remained, my favorite song of all time. Not just by Heart, whom I am inspired by and will always feel was under-rated. Love them, love their music. 20 stars!
The sound of Anne's voice is so beutiull it movs me to tears
This is one of my favorite Heart songs, and I love this arrangement. It doesn't depart far from the original and it sounds current, too. Very cool to see Howard back with Ann and Nancy. That mandolin part makes the song.
Wished that had kept doing this type of music in the 80s. They were at the best during the 70s and this song proves it. Beautiful vocals by Ann and mandolin work by Nancy and Howard.
As much as I like 70s Heart, I also appreciate sellout 80s Heart. It shows they aren't pretentious nor take themselves too seriously considering how legendary and talented they actually are.
@@igloozoo3771everything they've done,I love❤
When I was a young lass of 11, this song came out and I was hooked. This lady and this band has been my inspiration, displaced only by none other than John and Paul of the Beatles. You ladies rock. Ann, you taught me how to sing. Thank you.
These Girls need to be in The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame!
one of my all-time favorite songs from Heart,,, saw them perform last night..still a timeless experience....am now a 44 year old Mom and could bring my 16 year old daughter to experience for herself!! A new generation is on board! Love these ladies...
Two band's music make me inherently happy, The Beatles, and Heart.
born in Seattle in '61... grew up in the Bay Area.. sang, played guitar.. I wanted to be just like them.. have all their music books, albums....
did nothing with it..
but this is one of my favorites.. . now I am 48 ... who knows what tomorrow will bring rifght... I haven't played in years.. but now have collected five guitars...
I hope I climb out of my pit soon..
Sylvan Song / Dream of the Archer... used to listen to those songs over and over and over. Had the Little Queen album on cassette tape at the time and used to rewind them over and over and over. Couldn't get enough of those songs!
My favourite song pretty much :) that's a really tough call to make but I'd say this sits at #1 just because it was everything I ever dreamed of as a kid, escaping into enchanted forests, and because Ann Wilson's voice was just haunting.
This band, these women have given us some of the very best music of the 70's and 80's they grew and most of us grew with them. Only the artist themselves know their motivation for a shift in styes. I love good music but this band has given us nothing but great music. If it happened to be commercially appealing good for them and their expanded audience. Thank you for the great sounds and the memories I associate with them. Getting older sucks but thanks to your music I can remember my yesterdays.
Saw them in 1976, they opened with Dream of the Archer- lots of fog blowing off the stage into our faces.. That's it... I was dumbfounded and awestruck, not just because the Wilson sisters were incredibly beautiful , but I was slain by the wonderfully fantastic music that they produced. they ended the night with Harry Nilsson's can't live and Ann's voice was Bringing Down the House!!! I just couldn't believe the tremendous power of those pipes. What a phenomenal and (IMHO) terribly underrated band.
I really love the Brigade tour from 5 yrs. earlier. I had commented that Ann was at the top of her game when she was 40. Well here at 45 she never came down! This performance is amazing! Her voice is so eerily shivering, hauntingly beautiful, so powerful. Her voice is a love song in itself, a true gift from the heavens above.
Ann is hands down the greatest singer I've ever heard, male or female.
Was God just showing off by cramming so much talent into these two wonderful ladies? And God bless them both for all of their hard work and for for not sqandering their gifts. Peace to all!!
this song is very much one of my favorites from rocks leading ladies! nobody writes music and plays music like this anymore. such a shame.
One of the few groups who can make their live stuff sound BETTER than studio version. OMG this stuff is pure.
If there is a heaven, Ann and Nancy Wilson will be there for me when I arrive.
these are my girls.. they have been embedded in my soul since junior high..
So beautiful, it still makes me cry after all these years. Tied for my favorite balad with Dog and Butterfly. It's how the Forrest makes me feel.
So integrated and harmonic excellence. Can't be created anymore by the new, these days
I dare say not many could pull this song off. Masterpiece.
My very favourite Heart tune. Absolute magic. This song lifts me over the clouds.
One of my favorite songs by Heart. This just very musical :)
I have SO many fav heart tunes but this is my FAVORITE!
Kids, I made you some stage clothes so many years ago ... in West TX I have always loved your music and Ann, you are such a bright spark please don't let the world tell you otherwise
This is a story of hat in hand. One of the many, unfortunately. The fortunate. Shine on you Crazy Diamond.
Saw them first time in '77 Little Queen tour..Opened the show with this song in a cloud of dry ice everywhere..Amazing night
Ann Wilson's voice is always perfect. Nance Wilson's guitar play is always perfect.
Yes. My niece Morgan (born in 1992) who has learned to play a pink guitar and write music, considers you two ladies to be one of her biggest influences. Keep up the good work.
Nancy, your guitar playing is flawless and Ann, your voice magnificent. Better each year. Thanks.
1978??...Cal Expo Calif...GREAT CONCERT !! I was in love with you then and I still love you now!! WOO HOO...
Ann Wilson's voice is just so beautiful....no instrument can sound as beautiful as her voice....!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man I love this song, that mandolin sound with Anne's voice is classic!
One of THE BEST Heart songs ever!! Heart was the highlite of my senior year of high school 1987-1988...Saw them 4 times in concert!!!!!! Ann has the best women's vocals ever....God bless her! (Wish she could do a duet with Ken Tamplin
Queens of Rock forever! The album/ Barracuda was my very 1st ALBUM at age 7!!! In 1977! U guys r awesome now an always!🎵
No one sings it like Ann. I do about everything out there on Karaoke, and I am not anywhere as good as the master. Rock on Ann.
Nancy rehearsing for a place in "Blackmore's Night"!!!!!, Annie's vocals outstanding and totally powerful beyond comprehension what a voice.
saw them in portland oregon i think it was 1982, been a fan ever since. somthing about thier voices combined with that wonderful music touches my soul. saw a lot of concerts in my youth, watching the sisters wilson was an experience i will never forget. anne has such a powerful voice and i think they have only gotten better with age like a fine wine....
IT'S JONESY! Or however you spell it. Great stuff. I'm young enough to have to call Ann and Nancy Ma'mm, and I love this stuff. I was fourtanate enough to be at their Wild Horse Saloon show in 2008 and it was the best night of my life.
Ann Ann Ann Ann - that voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Heart! Saw them at Hard Rock a few years ago...wish it would have gone on and on and on and on.. Way too short...
Thanks girls (and band) for the decades of great music. We were there listening to you live, in the mid seventies. Beautiful mandolin(s) Nancy! Take care of theat sensational voice Ann!
One of the finest dual instrument pieces ever written.
On the album, with headphones, it is sublime.
By far the best Heart performance, and song, ever!
One of my favorite story tellers. Heart puts magic and mystery in it all! Thank you!
This song shows howc strong these sisters when they perform together. Wish they would get back together.
These two!!! ❤️❤️ They are so good! ❤❤
I love the stage setting...like a living room! :) Saw the ladies in Vegas this weekend. Fantastic show, and I loved the selections of The Ocean and Rain on Me for the encores. The Ocean especially was incredible. The only song I really missed was Mistral Wind.
Incredible and beautiful song.from my favorite heart album. Little queen.
Her voice is so very enchanting ;D... Simply listening to it at the end of a shitty day is quite the pick-me-up ;).
This has always been a favorite song of mine. It really takes you back in time. I feel like I am a gypsy back in the renaissance when I listen to this music. What a classic.
Forty plus years later since you opened for the Outlaws in Bangor Maine stands as the most profound moment in my life at a concert. Since then I have seen all ,a long list. When you came to town ,I really did not know anything about your inspiration from LZ or your gift for all to share. I remember saying I dont want to see some "Chick Band I came to see the Outlaws" Then when you opened with this song with the Fire red cauldron on the stage. Myself and the entire crowd were a little taken back. Then when you went into Love Alive and when it broke into the second portion, lights full up ,,You bellowing the most awesome voice Anybody has ever heard before.. I looked around the auditorium and saw Everybody having the same reaction as me.. It still gives me Goosebumps to this day, The Entire place was in shock, All I could think of I will never utter the words Chick Band again in my life
+Brian Penick So fun to have that in your brain now. What a great memory. Bless you child, me child too. Thanks for the share! PEACE!
Bangor represent
They just keep getting better, and better!
My favorite Medieval/Renaissance Heart song.
I love these two songs. Or really the long intro and the song. The dual mandolin lines are marvelous. And Ann, as always, sings so beautifully. =) Probably my all time favorite Heart song, which is a tough pick, because Heart has done so many awesome tunes!
Poignantly beautiful, your music always transports me.....
One of my favorite all time Heart tunes. I miss those days.
I wore this tape out when I was a kid. Thanx to you all!
That mandolin! Love this song! ❤️
Outstanding, Ageless quality. Real talent at its very best.
Should be in music Hall of fame..Way under recognized artists
I would give anything to be able to play mandolin like they are doing....Awesome!!!
favorite song thanks for posting
man, I love the girls of the heart really always super skillful
This is one of my favorites. I am quite partial to Mistral Wind. Ann's incredible vocal range truly shines in it. No ones voice compares to Ann's. Nancy's guitar riffs and her voice as well are fantastic. Such amazing artists. Love you Ann and Nancy Wilson.💕&✌
Could not agree more Vickie....loving them four decades plus.
Pure magic from the Wilson sisters. This song transports me just like "Mistrel Wind."
Heart is so well rounded. They can sing beautiful ballads, paly rock pop songs like "Where do you run to," and they kick it into heavy gear with "The Wolf."
They are truly a capstone in the music world.
we didn't sell out -we reinvented our sound and went forwards
Thank you for sharing your talents
I've seen Heart 7 times in my life and these ladies are the Queens of Rock
@ptkenn So well spoken--I could not possibly add to nor speak more to this than you already have. I too am so lifelong inspired by these artists. Their music--simply stated--takes me to a very happy private place of true and barely able to begin to describe beauty. Thank you for your words--from a fellow fan and afficionado. G
Thank you Ann and Nancy for many wonderful years of great music!
Whats weird is this has always been my fav heart song.I used to do art as well, and I always ended up putting an Archer inthere somewhere. Then when I was 35 I was very blessed with a Sag.son, the archer.I guess somehow I knew...
I am stunned to discover that the two women who gave us the classics Crazy On You and Barracuda can also do this celtic acoustic number. They are a worthy USA riposte to Led Zeppelin.
I was oh so wanting to hear her sustain at the end. I think she got nervous. She is so powerful and with Nancy's beautiful harmonies is just ageless.
I remember when this came out... I was a bit younger. I used to sit in my room and just listen and sing along for hours.
I loved this concert. There was so much life and passion in it. I had the great opportunity to see them in Casino Rama a few years ago in Canada - It is something I will never forget. You girls will never loose that fire! :D
OMG...I still listen to this on my big stereo in the house..LOUD....man what a rush!!
An amazing journey through another persons mind.......
My new favorite Heart song
Love this song and performance so much! I now own this DVD ❤
"Keep to the pathway, he advised, for the woods are more than they might seem"...Genius imo
So soooooo Good!
Definitely one of the best they ever done !!!!
How superbly well has this been done live?! Anne voice is still there impecable as ever! Yep both goddesses I agree! Keep going girls and please dont retire from performing for us as I grew up in 1978 as a 13 year old just in absolute awe of you!
one of the many best Heart songs. was my favorite in the '80s. 30years later, still is.
Going to see these amazing women tomorrow night (7-31-20100. Can't wait
we still put out albums. There is a new one due out this year. We have always been recording and touring.
Love this song. Love this band. Love these girls.
oh my god... that sounded so good... gooooo Seattle..
Two of the most beautiful and talented girls in music. Ann and Nancy have been such a huge influence to me when I play and write. Though, I'm not worthy even to suggest such a thing. incredible talent. Thanks for sharing.
well damn man..you'd be HEARTLESS not to Love this one.
Ann Wilson .. the best female rock vocalist of all time.
That is my favourite Heart song - and for me equals such acoustic masterworks as Zeps 'Battle of Evermore' or Al Stewarts 'Roads To Moscow'...The harmonies are Spellbindingly Beautiful.
«Little Queen» is one of the greatest albums ever made!
When i think of heart...i think of the voice..the beauty in acoustic melody...and of course ovation guitars...nice to see Ann break one out...as nancy now uses martins. and an ovation mandolin
