      @@anthonyboerio4955: You mention Nancy Wilson in the same breath as Clapton, Van Halen and Berry yet she was the 3rd best guitarist in her band. 1. Roger Fisher 2. Howard Leese 3. Nancy Wilson. Who do you think played all those rocking solos in their early songs? Sure wasn’t Nancy, why, because she couldn’t. Nancy is okay on acoustic, but she wouldn’t come close to the top 50 guitarists in the world. As long as Roger and Howard were in the band, Nancy was regulated to rhythm guitar or a few acoustic riffs. Roger and Howard wrote and played the heavier stuff. And I’m willing to bet if you ask Nancy, she would admit she is no Clapton or Van Halen. I see where you are coming from. Nancy is a good looking woman and blonde! But Lita Ford would roast Nancy on electric guitar.

Now, it's all about appearance and presentation first, with talent ranking pretty much at the end of the list, since they can just "fix" it.I absolutely despise listening to an artist sing while having no idea whether or not they can actually sing. The worst part is that the public is so conditioned for perfection that the industry auto tunes absolutely everything, whether it needs it or not.

    • @russk1971
      @russk1971 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @mwfmtnman that is not what I said. I am stating that today's music is less about knowing how to play a musical instrument and sing on pitch. The music of today is more about the "glitz and glitter." The riff is a computer generated loop of mimicked sounds. The "beat" is an electronic click of vering frequencies. Live performers sing into a microphone, and the pitch is corrected before it is heard by the audience. I am calling out the so-called artists who use other people's work and either splice or "remix" it with different lyrics and call it new. Poetry is poetry. Being a wordsmith takes talent. The skills to use a computer to "cut and paste" and edit audio files are above my ability. The ability to actually use a musical instrument to create a pleasing sound scape is a much different level of skill. The ability to reproduce what you created with a musical instrument in front of a crowd of people on a regular basis takes a much higher skill level. Today's artists due to whatever? Do not reproduce what they did in the studio without computer generated assistance.
