Congratulations on your new ride. I got my 350 Lariat 7.3 on January 22. I ordered mine last March when the order forms for the 22's first came out. Production for the model year started in July. I received an email that my order will be produced in September. Then October, then November, and finally December. I was told that my first delay was because they were unable to get the adaptive steering. So in August we ordered a second truck identical to the first but without adaptive steering. I just got the email yesterday that the second truck is scheduled for May 9. I'm glad I got the first one or it would have taken at least 15 months to get my truck. But it was worth the wait anyway. Love it.
Wow! What a journey! You really almost went from beginning to end of the model year before you got your truck. I agree with you, though, the truck was WELL worth the wait! And someone is going to have the opportunity to pick up a sweet F350 when your second order comes in!

Beautiful truck and thanks for sharing. Last September I ordered a 2022 F350 Lariat 7.3L four door long box in Antimatter Blue with the black appearance package, Lariat Ultimate package, FX4 package, towing package, moon roof, factory sprayed bed liner, goose neck kit, fifth wheel and pretty much all of the other available options including the Warn winch. Late January I asked the sales manager if there was anything I should delete and he said the winch, so I did. A few days later I got the email from Ford saying the truck will be built the week of March 7th... finally! My salesman said it takes a couple of weeks to get to Michigan and I can't wait! Watching this video confirmed I ordered the right truck.

Since Black Friday?! That’s originally when I had planned to order mine, but I decided to hold off for another week or so. Who knows, I might still be waiting had I ordered then. It’s very hard to tell, though.
I just placed a custom order for a F250 CC 4x4 yesterday for 2% under invoice. Star White paint, Blackout Package, FX4 and locking rear differential are the only options. Dealer told me to expect a 6-9 month wait until delivery.

@@beardedautomedia2261 Ya, it’s an amazing deal at a tad over $59k for a Lariat model. Ford usually switches to the next model year around July so the refreshed 2023 F250 should be going into production around that time. Rumor is that Ford will offer a hybrid for the first time in the SD lineup.
That’s close to what I paid for my D-Plan, so definitely a great deal for a customer off the street! I’m hearing all kinds of stuff for the 2023, but who knows how much of it they’ll implement with such a constraint on materials. I can see them making some minor changes for 2023, but doing heavy testing and development for the 2024 model. But who knows?!
Yeah, that’s dealer employee pricing which is part of Ford’s AXZD pricing for employees, partners and friends and family. It worked out to about 10% off MSRP for me…which combined with my trade was a steal.
I ordered in early December, fully loaded F-350 Lariat with the 7.3L. Yes I have the moonroof and 5th wheel prep package. At this point I’m betting they will be telling me in October they are building it under the 23 model year because they will have stopped production on the 22. I’m anxious, but patient to wait for what I want, rather than remove options to hopefully quicken the build/delivery date.
Nice build! I bet you’ll know before October. Production will probably cut over to 2023MY in June or July. If yours isn’t built before then, it will likely be that you have to reorder as a 2023. HOPEFULLY you get the truck you want and it’s sooner rather than later. But like I tell everyone I talk to about ordering, it’s just really hard to tell how Ford determines priority.

When was your truck ordered? I am still waiting. Order on Jan. 17. Well dealer was supposed to order mid-December but didn’t until I called on Jan. 17. Then magically the order showed up.
I ordered December 6th. Mid-December order probably would be scheduled by now, but it’s not looking great for unscheduled builds right now. Even scheduled builds could get pushed to a 2023 at this point. It’s hard to tell what Ford’s primary focus is anymore.

Shut downs are definitely forcing the inevitable. It’s hard to find a dealer willing to work with you on price or that will honor AXZD pricing. Sounds like you found one. Sucks that they didn’t order when you asked them to, but unless you can find another dealer who has one on ground and will take you plan pricing..you may be forced to stay the course if you need the truck at a specific price.
It’s well worth the wait. I did get very lucky. I didn’t plan to have the truck before 6 months, so for it to show up in less than 3 was a miracle. My timeline was more typical of pre-Covid spec orders.
I like the Baja as well, but I wear jeans and tend to sweat from time to time, so lighter interior has never been a good choice for me! I wouldn’t mind the Java interior in the King Ranch though.
Ordered one very similar. Just wondering how long did it take to get a build date after you deposited the 500? I’ve just hit 6 weeks and crickets still. After you got a build date please list the other timelines until it showed up thanks

Thanks for watching! Loving the long bed so far! Everyone thought I was crazy, but even with the extended wheel base, it gets around great. Full tank range is between 610-650 miles depending on temperature and driving. It’s awesome!
Congrats on your new truck. I’m not sure should I get a 250 gas tremor with the 4.30 axle or a 350 srw diesel tremor because the things I going to tow is a 8500 lb enclosed trailer and a 9900lb utility trailer for light hauling. And a Jon boat.
Thank you! And thanks for watching! If you’re going with the Tremor, from what I’ve heard, there’s not a huge difference between the gas 250 and 350 as far as suspension goes. You may pick up a little payload in the 350, but I can’t imagine it’s much. You might lose some payload going with the diesel option though, as it’s considerably heavier than the 7.3 gas motor. If I’m towing 8500-9900 lbs regularly, I’m going to pick up a Lariat 350 with the 7.3 OR the 6.7 and opting for 4.30s when I can. Ford says they designed the Tremor to be better off-road without compromising towing. So the Tremor will do the work, no problem if that’s the package you want. And for the base price difference between a 250 and 350, unless you’re really worried about the ride, it’s a no-brainer. Hopefully this helps! The forums on www.fordtremor.com are also a great place for info on topics like this, if you don’t mind searching around a bit!
I mentioned in a previous episode that I have on order the almost same truck. Same color with tan color interior. But I to did not get the moon roof. They are having trouble with it. Rattling, sticking in open position and worst of all leaks🤨. On top of that when ever I have had one I rarely used it. Congratulations on getting yours. I’m waiting since first of January.

Wow you lucked out. I ordered mine on sept 1st 2021. Still waiting. Started getting built last week. Got pushed back 3 times. No moonroof either but it is diesel so maybe that is the reason or maybe it’s because it’s platinum? Don’t know but I’m glad I went with the antimatter blue also.
I did get pretty lucky, but I also went with the most popular trim with a gas motor…so that helped. Can’t go wrong with the Antimatter Blue! I would say the combo of diesel and Platinum trim are exactly what’s holding you up. Fortunately since you’re so close, when Ford closes orders on April 1, you might get pushed to the front of the line!
It’s hard to tell, honestly. Depending on when you ordered it, if it was prior to April 1, you might see it by mid-summer. If it was after, your dealer might tell you it’s been put on hold. From what I understand dealers were not taking orders on 2022s after April 1.
@@beardedautomedia2261 yes I placed my order on April 1st. Base model f250. I’ve read on some forums saying that if it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles the turn around time is faster. But it’s my 1st time doing this and the chip shortage isn’t helping obviously. I Just hope I don’t have to wait over 6 months lol
Well, good on you for getting your order in before the cutoff. That’s pretty lucky itself. From what I can tell, chip shortage is only a small part of the issue. Being an XL you definitely won’t have AS many chips, but you will still have most of the components the other trucks do. If there are shortages in materials, parts, or labor, it’ll hold you up. Plus, like I said, Ford doesn’t really have a rhyme or reason to when or how they build trims out. You could get lucky and they’re focusing on base trucks and yours gets built, or you could have to wait because they’re building highline trucks. The best thing you can do it watch forums for people with similar orders and keep in touch with your dealer for updates!
Great choice! It’s beautiful in any light and it gets a lot of compliments wherever I take it. Just be ready for people to ask what color it is….a lot!

My sticker didn’t show up until a week or so before it was scheduled to be built. It was around the same time the truck was invoiced. Truck was built on 2/19 and I was able to pull my window sticker the first full week of February, I believe.
Sure! Payload is 2,700 lbs. It’s just a 250 with 3.55s. It’s about 1,300 lbs better than my Ram. If I had opted for the 4.30, I would think it would be over 3,000 lbs. Pretty good for a Lariat with some options.

@@beardedautomedia2261 it’s a 350 srw platinum. No adaptive steering dropped the bed liner and dropped fifth wheel prep. Got scheduled for early February and have been bumped four times since now with a build date the week of 28 March. Hopefully it does not bump again. Congrats on the truck.
Crazy that even cancelling most constraints you’ve been bumped so many times. Maybe they’re just delayed on the Platinum build cycle? I know Toyota is only focusing on its top selling models/trims. Maybe they’re locked into XLTs and Lariats right now because they’re the more plentiful orders. Again…who knows what the rhyme or reason. Thank you! It’s mostly hearsay at this time, but it appears Ford is no longer taking retail orders for ‘22MY trucks. I speculate that anyone who isn’t scheduled would likely be forced to the ‘23MY. BUT, like I’ve said before, that may actually be a good thing!
Interesting. I had not even considered that. I’ll have to think about what that might mean for me. Will it affect my price? etc. I’d gotten a pretty good deal from my dealer which was below msrp. Not sure if they would still honor that if I have to move to a 23MY.
It will likely be a bit more expensive, yes. I would say they may still honor your below MSRP pricing, but if MSRP has gone up, that price may as well. There are rumors swirling that the 2023 will feature the updated interior we’ve already seen in the F150. I had planned to switch to a 2023 if my order hadn’t go so quickly.
I saw your last video showing the price increase on your window sticker from when you placed the order. Did they price lock you at the time of sale or did you have to pay the adjusted price?

@@beardedautomedia2261 I asked because I ordered a 350 in October that is in production right now. My window sticker is $2,200 higher than the price it was when I ordered it. The base MSRP for the 350 is the only thing that increased. My salesman said he would “submit for price protection” I’m hoping that means I will not be paying the new MSRP. It’s already bad enough paying full price.
Long story short, I had luck with my price protection. Keep in mind, the dealer can refuse the price protection. It’s highly unlikely that any decent dealer would, though. So, basically what happens when Ford has a price protection claim is, they will reinvoice the vehicle at the ordered MSRP. That process takes up to 45 days. The dealership can handle it one of three ways. 1.) They can work your deal with a “like invoice”, which will give you the order pricing. Then they will collect the check for the difference from Ford when the new invoice is available. 2.) They charge you the new MSRP, and either a.) send you a check for the difference once reinvoiced or b.) you can resign in 45 days at the protected price. I would opt for the “like invoice” option. They’re not losing anything. If the business office isn’t lazy, they won’t have any issue working your deal as ordered.

I just wasn’t thrilled with his response yesterday when I pointed out the new MSRP on the window sticker. I would have felt better if he had just said “yea man no problem. Like I told you when you ordered the price was locked” rather than his response saying “I can file for price protection” and that’s all he said in his email.

All you can do is be persistent with your dealer and pray Ford is building trucks with your options.
Was told 6-9 months here. I ordered a lariat, tremor, Black appearance package, moonroof. I did not get the bed liner. I just have my buddy do it at his shop. I was told that was a major constraint. Kinda hoping it gets pushed to a '23 model year if its going to take that long.
6-9 months is on the long end, but with plant shutdowns due to chips, it’s not unlikely. Unless Ford decides to make the 2022 production cycle longer than normal…I’d say most people ordering after February will get pushed to a ‘23. That may not be a bad thing, either.

Since I work for the dealership, I did get D-Plan pricing. With the trade-in on my Ram, the price was too good to pass up. There are plenty of dealers who won’t mark up, you just have to do good research. If you have a private offer from Ford, or you have A/Z Plan or X-Plan pricing, that’s something you need to talk to the dealer about off the rip. Make sure they’ll let you use those incentives, because some won’t.
Great choice! If I thought I needed a diesel, I would have definitely gone with the 6.7. It just made more sense for my usage and budget to go with the 7.3. So far it’s proven to be just what I needed!

I’m due time, we will be purchasing a house with a garage. Right now it makes more sense for us to rent. Here are a few of the reasons why I bought the truck: 1.) I didn’t spend $65k on the truck. Why not upgrade if my payment doesn’t change? 2.) The housing market is crazy right now. I’m not paying $50k-$100k over for a house with the same or less square footage than my apartment. 3.) I rely on my vehicles way too much not to have a factory warranty. The STi is the only exception because it’s not a daily.

Congrats on your new truck. I’m not sure should I get a 250 gas tremor with the 4.30 axle or a 350 srw diesel tremor because the things I going to tow is a 8500 lb enclosed trailer and a 9900lb utility trailer for light hauling. And a Jon boat.
Thank you! And thanks for watching! If you’re going with the Tremor, from what I’ve heard, there’s not a huge difference between the gas 250 and 350 as far as suspension goes. You may pick up a little payload in the 350, but I can’t imagine it’s much. You might lose some payload going with the diesel option though, as it’s considerably heavier than the 7.3 gas motor.
If I’m towing 8500-9900 lbs regularly, I’m going to pick up a Lariat 350 with the 7.3 OR the 6.7 and opting for 4.30s when I can. Ford says they designed the Tremor to be better off-road without compromising towing. So the Tremor will do the work, no problem if that’s the package you want. And for the base price difference between a 250 and 350, unless you’re really worried about the ride, it’s a no-brainer.

I mentioned in a previous episode that I have on order the almost same truck. Same color with tan color interior. But I to did not get the moon roof. They are having trouble with it. Rattling, sticking in open position and worst of all leaks🤨. On top of that when ever I have had one I rarely used it.

Wow you lucked out. I ordered mine on sept 1st 2021. Still waiting. Started getting built last week. Got pushed back 3 times. No moonroof either but it is diesel so maybe that is the reason or maybe it’s because it’s platinum? Don’t know but I’m glad I went with the antimatter blue also.
I did get pretty lucky, but I also went with the most popular trim with a gas motor…so that helped. Can’t go wrong with the Antimatter Blue! I would say the combo of diesel and Platinum trim are exactly what’s holding you up. Fortunately since you’re so close, when Ford closes orders on April 1, you might get pushed to the front of the line!
Nick have you taken delivery yet? I ordered a platinum diesel Sept 3rd (Canada) but haven't heard a thing about it

It’s hard to tell, honestly. Depending on when you ordered it, if it was prior to April 1, you might see it by mid-summer. If it was after, your dealer might tell you it’s been put on hold. From what I understand dealers were not taking orders on 2022s after April 1.
@@beardedautomedia2261 yes I placed my order on April 1st. Base model f250. I’ve read on some forums saying that if it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles the turn around time is faster. But it’s my 1st time doing this and the chip shortage isn’t helping obviously. I Just hope I don’t have to wait over 6 months lol
Well, good on you for getting your order in before the cutoff. That’s pretty lucky itself. From what I can tell, chip shortage is only a small part of the issue. Being an XL you definitely won’t have AS many chips, but you will still have most of the components the other trucks do. If there are shortages in materials, parts, or labor, it’ll hold you up. Plus, like I said, Ford doesn’t really have a rhyme or reason to when or how they build trims out. You could get lucky and they’re focusing on base trucks and yours gets built, or you could have to wait because they’re building highline trucks. The best thing you can do it watch forums for people with similar orders and keep in touch with your dealer for updates!

Great choice! It’s beautiful in any light and it gets a lot of compliments wherever I take it. Just be ready for people to ask what color it is….a lot!

How long before build did you get your window sticker? My build date is 3/31 but no sticker on the tracker yet.
My sticker didn’t show up until a week or so before it was scheduled to be built. It was around the same time the truck was invoiced. Truck was built on 2/19 and I was able to pull my window sticker the first full week of February, I believe.

Sure! Payload is 2,700 lbs. It’s just a 250 with 3.55s. It’s about 1,300 lbs better than my Ram. If I had opted for the 4.30, I would think it would be over 3,000 lbs. Pretty good for a Lariat with some options.

First and foremost, congratulations on the beautiful truck. What was the timeline from when the truck went into production, to when it was scheduled for delivery?
Total build time to delivery was a little under 3 months. It was a wait, but definitely not the 6-8 months or longer I’ve seen.
That’s pretty quick. We have been waiting since Oct 2021.

@@beardedautomedia2261 it’s a 350 srw platinum. No adaptive steering dropped the bed liner and dropped fifth wheel prep. Got scheduled for early February and have been bumped four times since now with a build date the week of 28 March. Hopefully it does not bump again. Congrats on the truck.
Crazy that even cancelling most constraints you’ve been bumped so many times. Maybe they’re just delayed on the Platinum build cycle? I know Toyota is only focusing on its top selling models/trims. Maybe they’re locked into XLTs and Lariats right now because they’re the more plentiful orders. Again…who knows what the rhyme or reason. Plant shutdowns are really stretching out wait times right now. I’m honestly surprised Ford hasn’t come out and said they are no longer taking 2022 orders.
@@beardedautomedia2261 the dealers in my area are saying this is the last week to order a 2022. Anything next week is going to be a 2023.
That's kind of what I felt like it was coming to when Ford just kind of stopped scheduling orders and started idling the truck plant.

Thank you! It’s mostly hearsay at this time, but it appears Ford is no longer taking retail orders for ‘22MY trucks. I speculate that anyone who isn’t scheduled would likely be forced to the ‘23MY. BUT, like I’ve said before, that may actually be a good thing!
Interesting. I had not even considered that. I’ll have to think about what that might mean for me. Will it affect my price? etc. I’d gotten a pretty good deal from my dealer which was below msrp. Not sure if they would still honor that if I have to move to a 23MY.
It will likely be a bit more expensive, yes. I would say they may still honor your below MSRP pricing, but if MSRP has gone up, that price may as well. There are rumors swirling that the 2023 will feature the updated interior we’ve already seen in the F150. I had planned to switch to a 2023 if my order hadn’t go so quickly.
I saw your last video showing the price increase on your window sticker from when you placed the order. Did they price lock you at the time of sale or did you have to pay the adjusted price?

@@beardedautomedia2261 I asked because I ordered a 350 in October that is in production right now. My window sticker is $2,200 higher than the price it was when I ordered it. The base MSRP for the 350 is the only thing that increased. My salesman said he would “submit for price protection” I’m hoping that means I will not be paying the new MSRP. It’s already bad enough paying full price.
Long story short, I had luck with my price protection. Keep in mind, the dealer can refuse the price protection. It’s highly unlikely that any decent dealer would, though.
So, basically what happens when Ford has a price protection claim is, they will reinvoice the vehicle at the ordered MSRP. That process takes up to 45 days. The dealership can handle it one of three ways. 1.) They can work your deal with a “like invoice”, which will give you the order pricing. Then they will collect the check for the difference from Ford when the new invoice is available. 2.) They charge you the new MSRP, and either a.) send you a check for the difference once reinvoiced or b.) you can resign in 45 days at the protected price. I would opt for the “like invoice” option. They’re not losing anything. If the business office isn’t lazy, they won’t have any issue working your deal as ordered.
@@beardedautomedia2261 yea I hope so. They’ve been ok so far. I know he told me when we placed the order in October that we had price protection. I just wasn’t thrilled with his response yesterday when I pointed out the new MSRP on the window sticker. I would have felt better if he had just said “yea man no problem. Like I told you when you ordered the price was locked” rather than his response saying “I can file for price protection” and that’s all he said in his email.

Looking at some of the comments and being active on forums…there are a lot of people in the 6-8+ month range. All you can do is be persistent with your dealer and pray Ford is building trucks with your options.
Was told 6-9 months here. I ordered a lariat, tremor, Black appearance package, moonroof. I did not get the bed liner. I just have my buddy do it at his shop. I was told that was a major constraint. Kinda hoping it gets pushed to a '23 model year if its going to take that long.
6-9 months is on the long end, but with plant shutdowns due to chips, it’s not unlikely. Unless Ford decides to make the 2022 production cycle longer than normal…I’d say most people ordering after February will get pushed to a ‘23. That may not be a bad thing, either.

Congratulations man. Truck looks great! I just pulled the 5th wheel prep off my build yesterday. Hoping that will at least get me a build date lol. Dealer told me the BAP would get built at all. 🤷♂️ first thing for me will be tires. Those massive gaps in the wheel wells bug me so much. Can’t wait to see this progress!

Did the dealer mark it up or did you get it for window sticker?
Since I work for the dealership, I did get D-Plan pricing. With the trade-in on my Ram, the price was too good to pass up. There are plenty of dealers who won’t mark up, you just have to do good research. If you have a private offer from Ford, or you have A/Z Plan or X-Plan pricing, that’s something you need to talk to the dealer about off the rip. Make sure they’ll let you use those incentives, because some won’t.

Great choice! If I thought I needed a diesel, I would have definitely gone with the 6.7. It just made more sense for my usage and budget to go with the 7.3. So far it’s proven to be just what I needed!

Why the hell would anyone jack a car up to put air in a tire?! SMH
Why would you spend so much on a new vehicle when you are living in an apartment? That $65K could go towards a garage for your nice cars.
I’m due time, we will be purchasing a house with a garage. Right now it makes more sense for us to rent. Here are a few of the reasons why I bought the truck:
1.) I didn’t spend $65k on the truck. Why not upgrade if my payment doesn’t change?
2.) The housing market is crazy right now. I’m not paying $50k-$100k over for a house with the same or less square footage than my apartment.
3.) I rely on my vehicles way too much not to have a factory warranty. The STi is the only exception because it’s not a daily.
