    Doing research on how I can get a sound system on my 4 wheeler and this helped me. I think I can Jam all the wiring into a ammo box and waterproof it. To power to 6.5” marine speakers

    I have a 1938 British roadster and it never had a radio. I don’t want to cut my dash so this helped a lot.

    Your video addresses my similar situation. My 69 Lincoln stereo looks great in the dash. Im not going to tear up my dash. So i will do what you do. I do have 4 original speakers, not sure if they will need to be changed (very old). The Corvair is cool. Thanks for your helpful video.

    Great idea. I’ve been weighing over my options for quite a while now when it comes to my ‘81 F-150. Sure I could get a $37 dollar deck online, but I want the interior to remain as 80’ish as possible. Your addition of the toggle switch got me wanting to do the same thing but with an old Walkman as the controls. I’d need to find the right way to attach it the original radio location, but damn, you got me thinking about some pretty crazy MacGyver-type shit! 😂
    Thanks 👍

      I’ve had a Bluetooth speaker bar for ever now and I also had an inverter lol and I tucked the speaker under the seat and screwed the inverter right Behind my beatbox on my 93 f150 and it sounds like a $600 dollar system

    Any fuses or relays??

  • @graysonhaugen9553

    I’ve got speakers and borderline the same PCB coming my way but I’m not an electrician and have some basic questions. It’s going into my 1989 Dodge Colt wagon that never had a stereo in it. There are punch-outs in the trunk for speakers along with a stereo panel that was never removed on the dash. I think I’ll mount the PCB into my
    Glove box but I’m not sure what else I need from there. 1: positive running from fuse box which runs directly to battery?
    2: a ground wire to frame of car?
    3 L/R wires running to both speakers mounted into trunk? That should be all. Not entirely sure about the fuse box situation + the toggle switch. Any tips would be appreciated!

      Hi there,
      1. If there is a spot on your fuse box that is only on with key that would be better than if it was an always hot battery connection. Otherwise the amp would always be on and probably drain your battery when the car is off.
      2. Ground wire to the frame or body of car would work just fine.
      3. Yep, a positive and negative wire going back to each speaker in the trunk.
      All the toggle switch was for was to allow me to have music with the car off. I have since gotten another Corvair and done the same install on it, but I skipped the switch and just have the amp power wire going to a spot on the fuse block labelled "radio" that's only on with the key.

    This is what i want to do for my car but I'm having a hard tike finding one of these bluetooth amplifiers with 4 channels

    Dude, you know the blue tooth Karaoke machines with an amplified sub, speakers, battery and 12 volt direct deal? Their about the size of a sub box from back in the day and even the $50 units sound better than most of the stereos guys sourced from the Crutchfield catalogs back in the day. When I built my camaro ots what I went with and honestlyim not buying head units anymore lol

    Hey could you tell us what the Bluetooth amp combo board is called?

  • @Chad_Sandridge75
    @Chad_Sandridge75 ปีที่แล้ว

    So how does it sound?
    How many watts are going to the speakers?

    • @conradulyssestrybus5762
      @conradulyssestrybus5762  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the sound is good. Maybe not as good as a precise European soundsystem, but with a noisy old car it sounds just fine. In the video I had two speakers, each facing upwards towards the glass and that ended up being a really good way to project the audio. I installed the same amp into another Corvair, but the new Corvair is a convertible, so the I couldn't put one under the rear window. Instead, I put two 4" speakers under the dash facing downwards. The sound is fine, but not as good as my first Corvair. I don't remember the watts.

    If you did not do so, please install an inline fuse to the positive power line to the amplifier board. I wouldn’t want to ever know that someone’s classic car went up in flames due to a short in a $12.00 amp board! A fuse is cheap insurance!

    Why cant some one come up with a wireless
    blue tooth speaker system for cars . So you can listen to your car radio cd or mp3 player with out having to run wires everywhere. Recharging
    the speaker is not a big problem

    • @andrewsmith3760
      @andrewsmith3760 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @locomojo0485 I should have mentioned that I have a camper van and running wires to the back living sleeping areas is problematic. I have actually used blue tooth transmitters with rca plugs and headphone adapters with prtable speakers that are charged either at home or via usb from 12v outlets it is no problem whatsoever. HUH no need to be abusive. Portable recharble bluetooth speakers are used on beaches and numerous locations now. I just think the manafacturers could include a wireless option with units.

    I would have just left the stereo alone because that toggle looks so out of place. Mount the toggle in the glove box

    Do you have info on how you wired the amp and the switch?

    • @conradulyssestrybus5762
      @conradulyssestrybus5762  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I took an "always hot" and an "on with the key" lead from the fuse block and connected each to either side of the 3 position switch. The middle terminal of the switch is wired to the amp. I can draw a diagram if you'd like. These old GM cars make it easy to add accessories to the fuse block because they have a spare spade connection on each fuse.

    After you pair it to your phone for the first time, do you hear the voice every time you turn in the car, or does the music automatically start playing?

      He mentioned an SD card on the board. That's probably where the chim is being played from.

      I have a few of these boards and, yes, she is talking to you every time you power up the board until the Bluetooth on your phone, or source, connects with the board. Some of these board just have different chimes that sound when your need to connect, connect, and disconnect the Bluetooth. I prefer them to the “Chinese Bluetooth Lady” but it’s often very difficult to know what your going to get when your ordering a board.
