19:30 the thing about not looking at the controller is that if you don't make eye contact he can't pull you which is how he does most damage. That said, if you stay in his general area, he will drive you mad and zombify you overtime so there's a time limit. The correct tactic is the one you mentioned, get up close and mag dump a saiga into his head. Though that's easier said than done in some circumstances. Looking at the two of them on a roof in Pripyat.
The two on the roof definitely got me good lol I suppose I felt he still kept doing the pull move even when I was close. But yeah, the saiga with the better rounds helps a ton.
good review just bought the game so i’m watching before i play. you mentioned bullet spongey enemies, so im wondering if there is a mod to negate this or does playing higher difficulties help?
Yes, there is. Grok's Modular Mutants Health. I'd recommend his default settings, feels just right. The others can make it a bit too easy or closer to the spongey vanilla feel. Chimeras should be hard to kill, for example. Dogs shouldn't take more than one or two pistol rounds to put down.
I'm.currently on that dog mission you spoke about. Driving me crazy, I literally haven't played in 2 days because of it. Even though this game frustrates the hell out of me, there's something that keeps drawing me back. There is some charm about it, but i''ll be happy when i'm finished.
I pray they fix the enemy AI aimbot issue. I see it brought up on fb groups and on reddit. It's really my only complaint now. Just hit 100 hours and about 10 hours in my 2nd playthrough
@@onmyojirock9364 Yeah definitely. I had a group of zombies hip firing me from like, 100 yards through a ton of brush, it's like really? There has to be something to limit them to line-of-sight.
@@onmyojirock9364 There's a mod that changes the bullet spread and makes NPC aim worse FYI, it will really help with making it more real until devs fix it.
The weight management and inventory systems are made like this on purpose. You can't just have 15 guns with 99999 bullets on you, nor can you carry 450 cans of meat and 500 medkits. This is a conscious decision by the devs to encourage exploration and planning. The same goes for repair and weapon jamming. There are certain things that need balancing, and they will be, but a lot of these things are done on purpose. You have to make hard decisions, you can't have it both ways ;)
I didnt think I had been carrying an insane amount of each items. Eventually I did end up just hoarding all my stuff in my safe for future use. It's been alot more manageable on my 2nd playthrough as I know which guns I want and what to look for.

Sounds very similar, I just felt the psi dogs was so broken when it appeared to spawn 20+ copies
3:06 ah yeah a rookie mistake. In order to not take damage from this anomaly, you need to walk slowly (press X on keyboard)
There's so much I'm learning on a 2nd playthrough, it's honestly shocking but also very fascinating
You can also crouch
The 1.1 patch made gunplay a lot better!
