Great update. I have a green cover for mine but, it’s not as smart yours! I don’t know what roller tip rockers do for the engine performance but, if it is the blue ones you did show on the video, they look smart too.
If possible, once your engine is back and running see if you can get AC Dodd to tune it for you. I’ve seen a lot of his videos and what he doesn’t know about A series engines isn’t worth knowing. Some of the cars he’s tuned have been on a rolling road but they still need refining as a lot of tuners don’t understand carb and dizzy set ups. All the best Keith. Top work.
You'll be passing my house on the way there or back, pop in for a pint Keith, pint of Tea obviously 🤣 Hope your better half Mrs CMW doesn't watch these videos, ladies always want stuff doing to the house 🤔 Some nice goodies and upgrades done there, look fab when its installed.
Static drive tuning does not put the engine under load, it doesn't give power figures either, it's ok to get the fuel mixture correct on idle, but that's about it.
@@pauljeffries the problem is that most rolling road operators is that they have no idea to tune classic car carburators, just get the most power from it at full throttle. But when you drive it daily the car is running sh@t and not driveble.
You say the engine had lost its twin carbs. I have a price list from John Cooper Garages which lists a single carb conversion. Could your car have had 5his fitted?
Hi Keith great looking mini cover the engine build sounds awesome great video as always

Very interesting , your knowledge is unbelievable , looking forward for the engine video, take care .
Thanks 👍 It's a lifetime of being a Mini nerd
@@classicminiworkshop I definitely can see the attraction, certainly has captured my interest.

Looking forward to seeing you show us the engine when you’ve picked it up from Paul.
Hiya Keith-can't wait to see RG on the road! Keep well.

It’s a great cover that. They don’t make a better one in my opinion 💯
What’s the reason for going plus 60? Was the bore really damaged Keith?
Nice update! Let it tune bij AC Dodd to get the most power out it.

@@pauljeffries he also can adjust the car on the rolling road
@@StefanMiniCooper what is the point of having a static tune and spending £180.....then spending the same again on a rolling road?

@@pauljeffries plus AC Dodd can tune your car AT the rolling road.
Great vid thanks. What’s the plan for the RG when finished?
I plan to keep the RG unless I get very hard up for money.

I checked the original receipt from JCG and it lists a carb kit with 2 x K&N filters. Judging by the price, it was definitely twin carbs originally.
Hi, the cooper conversion had twin HS2 carbs 👍
