Well done that man. I have kept the revs up to 3000 & the max speed to 50! And, in my mind kept it at that for 400 miles thinking, I have another 100 before it is run in from the overhaul. 😮😮😮
The unit is running amazing Keith. So smooth, the best operator ever. Cannot wait to get my old unit back on the road, need to continue fighting those brakes today
Must be great getting back out in it, still not started my restoration really despite meaning to for years. But your videos always good for a bit of inspiration to get going ahahahhahaha. Can feel the pain when you hit the branches, I hate when that happens
Cracking series on the Racing Green. Great to see it pass the MOT, never in doubt. Worth all those hours spent to make another one saved and doesn’t it look, sound and perform so well… I can’t wait to see your breakdown of costs in a future episode.
Congratulations Keith.. Great job done and a well deserved MOT pass without advisories. Brilliant series on this lovely car and look forward to seeing more footage of it at the Bingly Hall venture.
Great to get it out and drive about, I find my cooper converted thirty drives in third almost like an automatic, just pulls at low speed, doesn’t need changing down 👍
Once you get some miles on the new engine, and maybe a set up on a rolling road, it would be interesting to revisit a pull against you 1275 engined car.
The bigger wheels surely make a difference on the road. With my 10 inch wheels I go about 80kmh before it sounds like the car is screaming at me. Luckily I do not have to go much faster than that on back roads and have yet to take it on the highway
Hi Keith. If I could be a bother, I have a question. If on the split system we have bled the brakes, I have now taken the drums off and inspected the front slaves somewhat push the shoes out, however there is no movement at the rear on either side, does this mean that the pressure valve switch went out?
Are you checking the rear brakes with the front drums on? Most of the braking pressure goes to the front, so you probably wont see the rears move if you have the front drums off at the same time.
@@classicminiworkshop We did try it without the drums on the front yes sir. Will have a peek at it agajn with the drums on the front. If that doesn't work I guess it's on to the next?
@@gsxrpat6147 Next you would need to check the brake compensators and ensure the brake lines are not blocked. Also, I assume you have checked the rear wheel cylinder are not seized. I suspect it would have just been where you were checking with the front drums off, the braking pressure is split approximately 80% front and 20% rear so with the front drums off, the rears will not move at the same rate as the front cylinders
038 battery? Noooo, its way to small, you want a 202 AGM, wedge it in at 45 degrees both ways, all good but don't forget to code it in!!! 🤣& is that really your nearest MOT Station 😁
I was thinking about going for 2x 096 in parallel. No way will that drain flat, or maybe I go in series and 24v the car, what do you think? I've still got some truck bulbs from my AA days LOL
@@classicminiworkshop 🤣Don't think i carry any 24v stuff on my van. Carry a 800v electric battery for out of charge roadside battery replacements 🤣 Lets put 4 202AGM's a cross the boot floor, wire for 24v and just use the starter motor to get it to the beach 🤣
what a lovely steering wheel on that one!! and ooosh cheap insurance! nice mine shot up on mini last year no idea why.
Fantastic Keith. Sounds mint 👌🏼
Looks and sounds great Keith. Thanks for a great series.

Keith gave them a back hander, Bacon & Egg sandwiches all round and a box of Quality Street as a sweetener 🤣
@ I find a £20 note often helps too.
@@recreativesigns4571 Where i live it needs to be at least a couple of freshly printed £50's 🤣🤣
@@paulrobinson3528 you need to come down South.
Brilliant that’s great news. See you at Bingley Hall
Great tips on the battery!

Where are you getting your insurance, Keith?!
Sterling Insurance for both my Minis, although I always check using Compare the Market
@@classicminiworkshop thanks for the info Keith, I'll definitely give them a try them next time mine renews!

Absolutely fantastic work mate and she sounds lovely! What FD ratio did you go with in the end? 70mph looks very comfortable
Its a 3.1 diff. I think they changed to 3.44 a little later
