The MED rocker cover looks great! I had the same issue where the rockers were hitting the cover. I used a dremel and carefully took out some of the inside material to clear each rocker. It worked OK 👍 May work on the original rocker cover you have.
Expensive parts Keith. My MG Metro alloy cover fits perfectly. I only had to notch it for the 11 stud head. I polished mine with a metal polishing kit and then brush coated Alocrom 1200 for protection. Keep it looking good. Ps my 1.3 roller rockers are quiet and one of the pluses of fitting them. I used facing washers to line them up centrally on the valve stems. I would leave the splash cover off, especially as you will be mostly running it in the 'summer ' 😊
Fascinating your passion with attention to details truly is a level not seen very often , I suppose having a transparent splash guard would give you the best outcome if indeed they actually make such an item , you would probably want one that had led lighting also , brilliant video as always, the engine bay is just unbelievable. Thank you , take care .
I have two Minis with that style of brake servo. Both emit a loud hiss when breaking the seal on the master cylinder (even when the engine hasn't run for a few days) so it is fairly obvious that the vacuum is being maintained. Both have single O-ring seals. Those MED roller rockers seem to generate a lot of issues so I'm not sure I can be bothered with that particular upgrade.
200th on the like button lol. Must admit, that's a nice looking engine bay. Wonder why Rover didn't use a flat style rubber gasket? So who you getting to do a rolling road tune?
Very nice Keith. As to expecting MED to listen to you and make changes I have zero faith, based on my poor experience with poor quality parts supplied by them that I had to return to them, certainly not the company they used to be.
Have you thought about machining the original Metro style rocker cover to fit those horrible MED roller rockers? I would have fitted the 1:3 rockers. You can get them to line up with the valves by using shims that Mini Spares supply.
Not correct, I dontunentein carbs, plenty of videos showing these, however they have to be freshly rebuilt (fully) or new, and I need a wide band gauge installed in t h vehicle so that it can be driven and monitored under load.
Why is life never straight forward 🤦♂️. I bet you wish you checked for the leak location before you ordered the servo. It looks great with or without the splash guard (carbs are more obvious with the guard on). Can I ask re re-torque the head, do YOU release one nut 90degrees and then re-torque or just re-torque? And do you start at the center and work your way out? Thanks 👍
Great video and thank you Keith, your channel is the gold standard for entertainment, guidance and knowledge!
Thanks for watching

It was a good 4 or 5mm out, so too much to Dremel unfortunately

Engine bay looks outstanding Keith. First class.
I wasn’t too sure about this car at first Keith, but now it’s done I really do like it, a lot!

I probably wouldn't have bought the MED ones if I knew the problems I would have
Hiya Keith-it looks superb. Sounds brilliant too! Keep well.
Sounds really good Keith great video
Looks very nice indeed 👍

Pozdrawiam super!!!
Looks lovely what is the next project

Yes, I could get the Metro style machined possibly.
The MED roller rockers on that engine are 1.3 ratio....not 1.5 👍
@@pauljeffries Who said they were 1.5?
@@surfblue63 look at your original comment
@@pauljeffriesAgain, who said they were 1.5?
I watched a video on these, the rollers may not line up with the rockers, something to watch out for
Have you considered doing a video with AC Dodd.....maybe get those twin SUs finessed?
AC only tunes single carb set ups as a rule, that car will be going on the rolling road anyway to be set up 👍

I just re-torqued starting at the centre and working my way out.
@ thanks 👍
That does look nice, is it still a 998 or closer to 1100 now?
I think it makes it 1041cc now
The servo twists apart.
Thanks you, I might try to strip one in the future, I've never done it before.
An unboxing I spy.
