Batman: Genius, billionaire and master combatant.
Wonder Woman: Amazonian, princess, and daughter of the gods
Green Lantern: Highly skilled pilot, unbelievable willpower and member of an intergalactic police force
Aquaman: Atlantian, power over all ocean life, and King of the seas.
Superman: Farm boy from Kansas, reporter, who does the right thing whenever he can.
And apparently Superman is the unrelateable one.

agree , the main problem with superman is how is represented in the mainstream media, he is either strip away of his decency, and lowered to our level as a gritty , pessimistic, and depresive hero , like all the others, or he is put as a conqueror or dictator, he really needs better adaptations at this point, cause he has great comics.

The fact that both characters have a tragic side to them. Sure Batman might take the easy Road wanting to teach a lesson and maybe that might work sometimes, but Superman takes the longer and harder Road, because the true road to peace is "healing" and he strives for a better future.

While being Superman is so easy. Because being Superman implies being good and helping people from whatever you have or you are, regardless of your powers. You don't need superpowers to be Superman, you just need a noble heart.

I love Superman, he's my favourite hero. He inspires me to be a better person.
For a huge part of my life I was a selfish jerk who didn't really care for others, until one day I realised how bad of a person I truly am and decided to change myself and my approach to people and the world around me, and I chose Superman to be my role model. He showed me how to be more helpful, more understanding, caring and compassionate, and above all he taught me how to never give up hope and keep being a good person no matter the circumstances. His Clark Kent persona is also a bit of a loser, to which I can completely relate-quiet guy with a lot of insecurities and anxieties. That's what makes him so interesting and wonderful to me-that despite his amazing strength, heat vision and other superpowers, Superman still has his weaknesses and flaws, and by that I don't mean being vulnerable to Kryptonite. He also must live with awareness that no matter the effort, he can't save everyone. As much as he would propably want to, he's only one person. Not even Superman can solve all the problems of this world, and I'm certain that's a really devastating thing for him. I can feel it in a way, I know that no matter the efforts I can't help everyone on this planet, but I still choose to keep helping those who need it, because that's what Superman would do, and it just feels right.
So yeah, here's why he's my favourite hero. If he were real I'd like to thank him for being my inspiration and a symbol of hope. Ah, to hell with that...thank Superman. Thank you for inspiring me and showing me the right way. Without you I'd never be able to better myself, or at the very least it'd be much harder for me. And above all, thank you for doing the same for millions of other superhero fans and normal people alike. To me, you'll always be THE superhero, the one and only Man Of Steel with a heart of pure gold.

The fact that he didn’t pulverize Batman in that infamous fight in The Dark Knight Returns is a testament to how much of a better person Clark is compared to Bruce. • @NicholasLatipi

Superman didn't really lose a "planet", as he already grew up on Earth, his adapted planet with loving parents and friends, before he realized his past.
It wasn't really hard for him because he was dispatched to earth as a baby, a completly blank slate so he has no memories to lament about.
Also looking like a prime handsome human with perfect physique also did him well with his adaptation to human society. I mean he can readily fall in love to an attractive female human person.
If you want a real Tragedy of losing a planet, that would be the Martian Manhunter.

He then explains the differences between Batman who tend to abuse his power but for the betterment of the people. Batman likes to teach lessons and bring pain to bend the criminals into law abiding citizens.

Superman was an alien, who benefited the world. Drawing parallels to immigrants bettering the United States.
He could have been our God or our leader, but he chose to be one of us, a humble decision that reveals that he feels equal to us. Seeing value in all life. It's so true what he said about the movies. It's so not about his overwhelming powers that the movies focus on nowadays. That's not the point at all. The point is that he is a moral role model, exemplifying putting others before yourself and empathizing with your fellow man and woman. Something today's society seriously needs. We should all support and care about each other together as a society and as individuals in need. We are all the same despite our differences.
Batman is just a psychological mess. By realistic standards, he would be locked up in a mental institution. He's not effective at all, has little to no moral lesson to learn from, and misappropriates his wealth and resources by beating criminals to a pulp, sticking them in an ineffective asylum, they break out, repeat. He also does what should be considered child abuse to his sidekicks. When he could be bettering society more effectively as Bruce Wayne in all honesty.

Agreed. I also love Superman's optimism and compassion, as well as just plainly finding him more relatable than Batman.
The only thing that differentiates Clark Kent from humanity is his powers and his homeworld. He still has had a challenging love life, his fair share of struggles as a parent while still managing to attain a loving family; his fair share of unsolvable problems (like Pa Kent dying of a heart attack); feelings of isolation and that one doesn't fit in, but desperately wants to; he's occasionally treated like shit by people, despite doing what he believes is best; he fears going out of control and hurting those he cares about (a la world of cardboard speech, for example). Despite it all, he still manages to remain optimistic. It's his strength of character, that I admire, not his strength of muscle.
To be fair, Batman does go through his fair share of troubles. He's constantly haunted by grief and paranoia, for one.
But, and maybe that's just me, I find it a lot easier to relate to the alien farmboy trying to fit in while keeping his values, than I do with the emotionally tormented and pessimistic billionaire.

I've always believed that *Batman* _cannot exist in a world without _*_Superman._*_ Period._
Bruce, above all else, should be *inspired* by Clark. It reinforces Superman's role as the aspirational hero. I don't like the Bruce that acts like he's better than everyone, who's paranoid and angry at everybody, particularly with Clark. They're not _opposite,_ they're *the Sun and the Moon.* The latter reflects the former, but most importantly, they are both *light,* albeit Batman is the one who _cuts through the darkness._
I despise the grim, gritty, misshapen versions that have popped up in recent years and wish we could get back to the child-like wonder that informed these characters originally.

Superman was made as an anti-nazi and pro immigrant symbol. Created by two Jewish guys - A man not from here who does everything he can to help and to spread kindness. There's one old strip where he says to some kids that no matter what colour, no matter where they're from, no matter who they are, everyone is equal and should be treated kindly. It actually breaks my heart seeing people hate him because he represents what people should aspire to be, and not the superpowered god side. And to people who say he's not deep, he totally is, just watch the world of cardboard speech. Every action he takes, he always thinks about the people, and against any enemy he faces he must always hold his punches, because he could easily destroy so much. You don't have to be disturbed or depressed to have depth.

Everybody thinks Batman can beat superman. He wouldn't even have a chance if he didn't use kryptonite because in Smallville he is very weak from kryptonite and sometimes can't even stand up. So the only way Batman even has a chance is to use kryptonite and technology.

Superman knows what evil people fears most .. that good people can have power and not being corrupt by it .. because it’s shows them that they are wrong which is the biggest fear most people have and they most change too the better..or something like that

2 of my favorite Superman moments (among many more) I think come from the same storyline but I’m probably wrong. One is where Lex Luthor is given the choice of being known as the greatest superhero the universe has ever known. He would go down as the person who brought peace to the whole universe. He’d be a better hero than the Man of Steel. Like ppl would brush Superman away and go after Lex Luthor. Kal-El is there and even he’s like Lex do it. Take the offer, you would be known as the greatest person to ever live. You’ll achieve my goal and be better than me. Luthor says no because it would mean Superman would still be around and he wouldn’t be known as the man who defeated Superman. Second example is when Luthor gets Superman’s powers and he finally gets it as he loses them. He says I finally get it, it all makes sense. I see why he does what he does. He knows, everything is connected. He gets to see how it really feels to be Superman and has mastery over all the powers. It’s telling that Superman’s aura was able to convince Lex Luthor that he’s truly a force for good

I've always thought that what really makes Superman "Super" isn't that he has great power, what makes him super is that he has great power and uses it selflessly to help others - something almost no human would do.
Some people say that it's hard to write good Superman stories. They're wrong. It isn't, as long as you understand Superman as a character.
I've got that issue oa American Alien, and seeing Superman kick Lobo's ass was deeply satisfying.

Superman is more fun because Superman is geared toward astrophysics, like kryptonite radiation, traveling faster than light (how he got to Earth from Krypton), solar powered, defies gravity when flying, heat vision and freeze breath, X-ray vision and so on. Basically, Superman is for geeks and nerds, whereas Batman is basically a rich guy on steroids with some background in martial arts and wields cool toys. So naturally, Superman's villains are a lot more interesting than Batman's villains, because they have to be in order to match Superman's powers. Brainiac vs the Joker, I rest my case.

His superhuman biology super charges every part of him even his brain. He's smarter and can think and solve complex problems in Milliseconds. He can think faster then Batman could even react. Combined with his other powers, he's basically invincible. He simply allows Batman and his enemies to win or holds back due to morals and freedom of will. He isn't physically fighting because he's already won that fight before it happens as he can just out think you then apply his powers. He's trying to morally win and beat you with his Ideology.

I mean, if you actually watched some of supermans movies from the 1980's, you will see that he is way underestimated in some of today's movies.WHY?Because in one movie from 1978, you would see that Superman turned the whole entire world around by flying around it at a lightyear speed to turn time back around after his girlfriend died to save her. That means that he is way-way WAY faster than the "Flash".And don't even try to compare him to a mortal, at that speed and strength, he would kill any mortal with a flick of a finger, and talking about mortals, here comes Batman who is nothing without his suit and money. Try having a 1 on 1 with batman and superman, no gadgets, no guns, no vehicles, just the fists. Tell me, who would win? Don't be bias and answer it.
    A).Superman
    B).Batman
    C).IDK
Answer below and give me your reason.
And in the movie Superman v Batman, Batman would be completely DESTROYED without kryptonite if you just thought about it. It's also sad how they underestimate him sooo much, it's sad, and it looks like they totally forgot the power he was given during the 1980's movies. He is so powerful he even competed against the entire justice league and didn't receive a scratch. Here is the video where Superman goes on a walk at the park. Just click here and be sure to COME BACK when your done to give me your opinion:th-cam.com/video/hr-TY2y_-pw/w-d-xo.html
Poor Batman forgot his big gun and nearly got killed by basically......................a GOD. Not including the word itself "SUPER" has so much powerful meaning. In other words, Infinite, undefeatable, SUPER! I could type on and on about reasons but I know how to show mercy to superman haters.
if you agree please leave a like ;P
If you disagree then PLEASE feel free to try and beat my reasoning.

Havel Gomes I respectfully disagree. 1.Yes Superman lost his planet. But look at it this way. How old was he when lost it? He was born not too long before the planet exploded, therefore he did not even get to know and connect with his people and so the tragedy is not exactly as big and as scaring as you think it is since he does not even remember his planet (to put it into perspective Martian Manhunter backstory is far more tragic than Superman's, since he lost his people AND HIS FAMILY when he was grown up in a war if I remember). Plus, Clark got two AMAZING parents on earth, he grew up on a nice farm and had some trustworthy childhood friends like Lana Lang. So I would say he had a pretty damn awesome childhood.
      2. On the other hand Bruce's parents died when he was 8 (or 10, depends on the iteration) in front of him, and while this never happened to me, I imagine it is a pretty damn traumatizing moment.
It does not matter if he was a priviliged boy (you say it , or type it, like it's a bad thing) since he used his wealth to travel around to world and gain knowledge and master all kinds of tehniques and skills. So it is not like he stayed in his gigantic manor and did nothing. And later he donates at all kinds of charities, and uses his vast wealth to help and improve (as seen in the begining of the new52).
Also you said:"PRIVILIGED WHITE BOY"........really? You got a problem that he is white?......awkward.
      3. Now, you might say that because Superman lost his world he might feel lonely...but that's just not the case anymore since he's got a cousin, a clone (who is 50% like him), a son (also 50% like him however he will grow up to be just as strong if not stronger than his dad), and even a kryptonian dog. Not to mention he has as coworkers god like beings just like him but with different powers (Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, etc).
      4. With all these being said, at the end of the day it does not matter whose tragedy is bigger or worse.
They are both great characters that deal with their past and problems in their own different ways but at hte same time standing side by side as best friends, both of them learning something from each other.

TheAnanaki Look at it from an immigrant's perspective: in this new world, Superman's constantly reminded he doesn't belong. He's always called an alien by both the public and superhero allies; many people make it clear that they want him gone. He didn't even ask for this. So, as many would, Superman would turn to his homeworld's culture to find a sense of belonging and pride. Except that's not an option; it's gone. He's even more alone than he realized. But instead of falling into anger and sadness, he chooses to accept the light and be inspired by his adoptive family and the world around him. Use all he was given to help others. I honestly consider Superman and Batman to the be two sides on the same coin. To dismiss one kind of dismisses the other.

When you realise Writing an honest Superman script is more harder than writing an honest Batman script. It's always easier to write a cynical, dark and cool than a down to Earth, humble and responsible storyline.

I think batmans more of a pessimist whereas superman is optimistic he had a loving caring family that instilled in him good values whereas bruce had no one and he had nothing but rage over the murder of his parents I think both are great heroes but i agree with you about superman I think he is the greatest superhero bar none because of his values and morality hes always optimistic always looking to help people superman is what humanity should aspire to be I still think superman tas is the best version of superman hes not overpowered and can get killed by villains with equal his power

Superman comic readers knows Supes is a guy who just wants to be a friend over the world, the movies never show that, they try to push that he is God.

I share the sentiment a lot of the people in the comments are sharing. I was a big Batman fan when I was younger because he always was that dark brooding cool tough guy, but as I’ve gotten older seeing the optimism and strength through hope-Superman brings I can’t help but like him more. I also love seeing him more as a representation of America.

People always talk about Superman’s powers, but never talk about his morals that make him the best superhero. He has all the power in the world, and is not even from earth, but wants to help people, and make the world a better place, and never hurt anyone.

    • @NicholasLatipi
      @NicholasLatipi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

his "morals" are primarily American-base non-sense.
Filled with misguided idealism and completely lacking in pragmatism.
His actions are very typical, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions' catastrophe.
I mean imagine all the lives he could have potentially save if he actually stop the villains outright so they don't have to appear in the next issues doing more harm to public.

If only DC movies took a quick look at Captain America in the mcu and realised that they don't need to be afraid of making film with a character who is good just for the sake of it and always stands up for what's right no matter what

It really IS annoying that people are so obsessed with making Superman the villain when Bruce Wayne is the one playing footsies with the worst society has to offer.
Batman is just a villain with delusions of being a hero but the writers don't have the balls to commit to taking the ONLY sensible path that CAN BE taken with a delusional rich guy who (by his OWN CLAIM) would start murdering people indiscriminately if he were ever put in a position where he had to drop the hammer on any of the murderous semen stains that abuses his 'justice' to kill again
Bit if a rant but I'm sick of people acting like Bruce is the BESTESTEST HERO EVAR! when all he does is prolong the suffering of the innocent people of his own city

The problem with Superman isn't his character. It's too many of his writers, the most irritating example being John Byrne. He couldn't understand why Clark Kent would have to pretend to be a normal man, so he rewrote it that Clark Kent beat Lois to the scoop and won multiple Pulitzers--ultimately making Clark Kent not only the best reporter at the Daily Planet, but also a good-looking guy whose only hindrance is glasses. Secondly, he depowered him so that he didn't have to worry about distancing himself from others.
What made Superman both inspirational and relatable was the fact that with his powers he could forge whatever relationships he wanted but he chose to distance himself from us instead because it's what's best for us. Everyone can relate to social barriers at some point in their life. With the Post-Crisis retooling, he was reinvented as the smartest guy in the class, who's good-looking, powerful and has a great job. By depowering him, John Byrne made him less relatable not more. He even rewrote it so that Kent didn't have superpowers when he was young, so there would be no ethical questions determining whether or not a human being could carry his spawn.
Every writer should take note of this. It isn't how powerful a character is that determines their relatability. It's the obstacles they face and how they choose to meet them.
