The Iron Horse Model Railroad is a TH-cam channel featuring my N Scale Model Train layout the Iron Horse Route. Whether you are currently a model railroader or are considering getting into the hobby I would like to encourage you to subscribe. Those interested in modeling, engineering, automation, electronics, graphic design, art, sculpting, and/or railroad history will enjoy the videos produced here.
All of the models you see on our layout or in our videos are offerred on sale on ETSY at the "Iron Horse Hobbies SMK" are custom designed kits by AJ and Myself. We currently have 18 pre designed kits, (links are below) and can also do custom kits from a picture. We are also able to do kits that need to fit in unusal situations. Have some unsed space. Send me a picture. We can fill it. We can make buildings disolve into walls.

The Denver and Rio Grande Western Iron Horse Route is a N Scale model of the prototype railroad owned and maintained by the D&RGW in the early 1950’s. The trip between Denver’s Union Station and Winter Park, Colorado. The line is still in operation today and is referred to as the “Winter Park Express” or the “Ski Train”. The prototype train typically was an ABB unit with a maximum of 14 cars in length. The trip takes about 2 ½ hours and raises in elevation approximately 4,000 linear feet in 45 miles resulting in a minimum grade of 1.7%. The route passes through the famous Moffat Tunnel directly before exiting into Winter Park. The West portal of the Tunnel is located with ½ Mile of the Iron Horse Resort, resulting in the name of the route.
This channel documents the construction and progression of this layout. Videos will be typically be uploaded on Friday's bi-monthly. Topics will be bench work, track work, electrical, automation, upgrades, unboxing's and review's , live streams, live chats, contests and much more.

I look at the most sprawling layouts in the larger scales and think "Imagine the N-scale layout one could build in that large of area...!" 🤩

Would love to spend 30 minutes on each layout with you! We would have between 9 and 6. When you buy a ticket, it is a pass for the day. I would think 4 or 5 hours we could do thorough layout tours on each layout! The O, G and the big HO layouts could have an hour each spent on them if not more. We will soon have an option for you to take the train from the airport in New Orleans to here. Brian

I understand what you are saying and do not disagree. I meant for this to be more of a glance at everything, but I do wish I would have slowed down and made the video longer. I am hoping that the administrators will allow me to come back and film each layout in more detail. I even plan to ask if they will narrate some and give us some more information on the layouts. So I'm hoping to put out a video by the end of the summer more to the pace you are suggesting. Thank you for watching and commenting though! Brian

I was thinking the same thing. They have a couple local investors who have sunk some serious funds in this place. They have summer camps for kids and everything. The only thing that was missing was a caboose restaurant. They did have dining car for kids to play in though!

Hey JD! It's right here in Gulfport, MS. We are about an hour east of New Orleans. We have fishing, seafood , casinos, aquarium and a train museum. Amtrak is in the process of reopening passenger routes from new orleans to here. Will be perfect to take from there bc plane tickets to new orleans are cheap cheap! Brian

Good Morning Keith! It is located on Pass rd. in Gulfport, MS. We are about an hour east of New Orleans on the coast.
The worlds largest railroad museum is in Hamburg Germany sorry and I’m from UK and they have no British Railways on it!,,,

Constant camera movement made me dizzy...
I meant for this to be more of a glance at everything, but I do wish I would have slowed down and made the video longer. I am hoping that the administrators will allow me to come back and film each layout in more detail. I even plan to ask if they will narrate some and give us some more information on the layouts.
@@IronHorseBrian Understood. The place is gigantic. Some cameras have a stabilization feature that could help. Also a location, up front, would have been helpful, rather than an answer to a comment.
