Plenty of four letter words end in 'x.' Such as Jinx, Flex, Faux, Onyx, Lynx, and Hoax to name a few of the more common ones.
If you ask me, the idea that there aren't any 4 letter words that end in X sounds like a hoax 😋

Ilex (as in the forest), apex, crux, jinx (!)... A couple, yes.
Onyx, Lynx, Flux, and Flax are the only four letter English words ending with X that come to mind. There are probably a lot more.

Would Onyx count? I think that's a word in the english language with four letters than ends in an X. I think it's some kind of gemstone or something, I don't know. I mean, it IS a word that it seems the Pokemon Onix is named after, so, it must be something.

Golem may be cool, but it still has one of the least creative Pokémon names. It's literally just "Golem". At least the did a better job in gen 5 with Golurk.
