Hi Tommy, I used to live in San Francisco when my husband and I were first married. I like the idea of the Big Bus tour. It looked like a lot of fun. My favorite spot on your video was a close up of the Painted Ladies, they were so elegant looking up close. Thanks again for taking us all along with you on a great tour!😊
Hey Joyce! So you have a good idea about the places I visited, maybe you should be a tour guide there haha! Thanks for sharing! I was there in May and took the BigBus tour as well. I got off across the bridge and walked up to Battery Spencer (amazing views) then walked down the canyon to Kirby Cove beach... then just caught another BigBus back. I highly recommend doing that if you get another chance, there's a grove of eucalyptus trees towards the base of that canyon and the smell when you walk through it is amazing! Next time I go I'm going to walk to Sausalito.
Wow I just looked at battery spencer and my god that’s a great view of the bridge! How long did it take you to do all that? And thanks for the suggestion. I’m eyeballing Sausalito too, the pictures of it look nice
@@tommyinsane9932 It doesn't take long to walk up there, maybe 25 minutes (if that.) The trail going down to Kirby Cove beach starts up there too and took maybe a half hour to walk down. Overall it was a couple hours of enjoying the scenery and exploring before I headed back over to the visitor parking/viewing area. You can even hike up past Battery Spencer to the Marin Headlands for even more spectacular views, I was going to do that but chose the beach instead. :)

Well done Tommy! We live in the East Bay and go to San Francisco occasionally but do get stressed driving a car, what a great idea to take this bus you make it seem effortless and very enjoyable! Thanks! The variety of foods in Chinatown is worth visiting San Francisco. Especially the availability of hot foods when you walk into the grab and go restaurant
I was in San Francisco back in the early 2000s and I went to Muir Woods National Park. It is over the Golden Gate Bridge several miles in. It has some of the tallest redwood trees in America. Please do a video of it one day. Great video.

I've lived in Marin most of my life, and still haven't taken the SF bus tour. It's on my bucket list (I've visited all the stops. Just never rode the bus itself).
The city can be expensive if you plan to do expensive things. Or you can walk places, rent a bike and eat at budget friendly restaurants. The weather is usually morning fog then sunny afternoon. Chilly cold by evening. Checked the weather in San Francisco and it’s cold right now. 6 - 15C. As with all major cities in the US, some areas are dangerous at night while others are safe, so it highly depends on your location in the city.
San Francisco is my playground , I go there all the time from Sac , sometimes I bring my bike or electric scooter to ride around Fishermans Warf , Embarcadero, Crissy Field, etc
Hey Sacramento! All the things you said are what I enjoy doing in San Francisco too. One time we rode electric scooters from Pier 39 to the Golden Gate Bridge and back, that was a special day. Hope to see you around there! ✌️
Hi, great vlog. I’m there 1 day so think that this might be a great option for me. How often do the buses come along if I was to say come off at one stop to explore?
Every 15 min it seemed. I used their Big Bus app to keep track of the buses while I was exploring, helped a lot with managing time. Have fun and thanks!
9:15 Last time I walked this bridge, I saw a boat fishing out a suicide jumper. I was talking to an plain clothes cop (I could tell) and she said they pretty much patrol only the middle third because that's where the people jump. She also said 'sadly, it happens more then people think'.
I bought the ticket on their website (bigbustours.com) to save a few bucks. They emailed me my ticket along with a QR code which they scanned at the bus stop. The cost was $59. Looks like prices are higher on the weekends. Also, you can start your tour at any of their stops. Just have cash or card ready for the driver 👍
Since the bus tour is from 10am-5pm, that’s about 7 stops and sightseeing for 1 hour each or 14 stops and sightseeing for 30 mins each. If you want to see the most of San Francisco, get off at each stop for 30 mins. If you want to “explore” certain stops, 1 hour each. I would suggest choosing the stops that interests you the most and only get off the bus just to see those so you’re not in a rush. For example, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of Fine Arts, Lombard Street, Washington Square (little Italy/Chinatown) were places that I spent an hour at and skipped the rest of the stops.
The bus loops throughout San Francisco’s most popular destinations, or close to them. You can hop off and on whenever you see the bus as long as you show them your receipt. You can also purchase the bus ticket directly from the bus driver using credit card. Yes pay one price of $59. Don’t lose the paper receipt or you’ll have to pay again!
@@tommyinsane9932 thank you so much for kindly responding. That is great information. I am going to do this bus tour soon. I enjoy all your videos. Keep them coming for us!
You’re welcome and I’m super excited for you to try the bus! Another tip: when the bus stops and no one moves around you, don’t be afraid to get up and go. That was a mistake I learned as I was too embarrassed to be the only one getting off haha. Can’t wait to hear how it goes and I’ve got lots more ideas to show you guys!
Hey Man!!! thank you for this vid..very informative.... im curious tho.. how's safety there? other vlogs highlighted the safety issue there? mind to give us how do u find the place .. i mean the atmosphere.. thanks
Hey Bien, I’ve seen the videos concerning the safety of San Francisco but I think those areas are concentrated in the area known as the Tenderloin between Japantown and Chinatown. I’ve always felt safe visiting this city, I’m just more careful to not leave valuables in the car as car break-ins are a big problem there. Don’t let social media and news discourage you from visiting places you want to go ✌️
Nope wouldn't go. I live 40 miles south of there and the only time I would is if someone else would drive their car. That way it's their car that gets broken into. I work for a food supply company and our drivers in the city always complain of having to watch where they step to avoid feces and needles. None of them go there for leisure.
I would recommend a car if you have places you want to specifically visit such as a bakery, beach, or store. If your visit is less specific and overall sightseeing, public transportation is best as there’s less stress about driving and parking fees.
Since you can start the bus tour at any of the 16 stops (just have your wallet ready for the driver). I recommend starting/parking in Golden Gate Park, stop 10. Park at the cross streets: Martin Luther King Jr Dr and Music Concourse Drive then walk 1 minute to the front of the California Academy of Sciences building to wait for the bus. Parking there is free which is a bonus. Thank you for the comment and enjoy your adventure in SF!
Yes I bought it online and showed them the QR code from the email receipt which they scanned. They print out a physical ticket from that code which is what you show the bus drivers to get back on the bus at whichever stop. Here’s the big bus tour website: www.bigbustours.com/en/san-francisco/san-francisco-bus-tours
I didn’t use the bart system I think the big bus is great for sightseeing San Francisco’s main tourist areas. Bart is better to go from city to city in the Bay Area Bart is also way cheaper. I think it was around $10 last time versus big bus at ~$50. Thank you comment
So, let me get this correct You pay and then these buses run constantly and you can get off stay as long as you want (within the bus operation times) then get back on and go back to where u first paid? Do they run late or only until like 5 oclock or something? btw your so cute. :)
You can go back to where you first paid, correct. No one is keeping tabs on you, so you gotta make sure you get off at the location you want or else the bus will stop at the location for a few seconds, see that no one is getting up, and decide to drive on. The schedule at the moment is 10am-5pm, that’s the only con I found if I wanna stay out late. Thanks for the compliment haha
You can start the tour at any of the locations you see the bus stop. Tell the driver you’d like to buy a ticket and they’ll pull out a card reader. Likewise you can end your tour wherever you’d like
Awesome video! The Big Bus Tour looks like a great way to see a lot in one day. Unfortunately, there are several TH-cam channels that set out to make SF & other Californian cities look as bad as possible. As for BART they are making trains shorter but running more frequently on the busy lines, & starting to install new fare gates to stop the fare evaders. Hopefully, they will install the new fare gates at the stations in the downtown first.😀
SF is tricky because the touristy parts aren’t effected much like in the video so I’m not sure what the local life is like as an outsider. Good to hear about the BART ramping up security and frequency. Thanks for the info!
You can buy online, here: www.bigbustours.com/en/san-francisco/san-francisco-bus-tours Or you can buy the ticket directly from the bus driver wherever you see the bus stop in the city
Heya you can buy the ticket from the bus driver at any of their stops and hop right on in. Technically the tour starts at their building across from Boudin Bakery on Jefferson and Mason as the buses take off from there
i will be there in San Francisco next week and i will be landing around 11 am and my next flight is 11 pm which is i will be there for 12 hours. Can I book big bus tour after 1 pm coz after 11 am it will take time from airport to big bus stop
Which option was this? The most basic ride? The basic one doesn’t say it crosses the golden gate bridge… yours seems like the bus crossed the golden gate bridge..
I live 40 miles south of Frisco. What a crappy city. A lot of closed stores, streets smell like urine. Thieves broke into our delivery truxls 4 times last year.
Yo, listen up, let me tell you a tale, 'Bout a city where the left's set to prevail. San Francisco, once a city so bright, Now drowning in chaos, day and night. Far-left politics, they preach it loud, But the streets ain't safe, it's getting wild. Crime's on the rise, homelessness too, In the land of tech giants, what they gonna do? The streets are cluttered, tents everywhere, Politicians talk, but they don't really care. Tech moguls thrive, while the rest suffer, In a city where the dreams just smother. San Francisco, once a beacon so grand, Now sinking fast in this misguided land. So let this rap be a wake-up call, Before the city's demise, we gotta stand tall!
Was there a few months ago. Absolutely loved the place. Thanks for bringing back some lovely memories.

Every 15 min it seemed. I used their Big Bus app to keep track of the buses while I was exploring, helped a lot with managing time. Have fun and thanks!
@@tommyinsane9932 thanks. I guess u love the bakery huh 😂
I do lol
9:15 Last time I walked this bridge, I saw a boat fishing out a suicide jumper. I was talking to an plain clothes cop (I could tell) and she said they pretty much patrol only the middle third because that's where the people jump. She also said 'sadly, it happens more then people think'.
I had no idea it’s a common thing. Thank you sharing
I guess these hop on/off busses r a good deal considering all the coverage you get
Exactly. Not having to worry about driving or parking fees is also a plus
Hey, can you please share the detail of the bus ride, like from where the ticket can be purchased (from any app or website) and the cost? Thank you!
@@tommyinsane9932 thanks for all the info! One more thing, can u suggest to me how much time would be okay to visit golden gate park and the gate?
Since the bus tour is from 10am-5pm, that’s about 7 stops and sightseeing for 1 hour each or 14 stops and sightseeing for 30 mins each.
If you want to see the most of San Francisco, get off at each stop for 30 mins. If you want to “explore” certain stops, 1 hour each.
I would suggest choosing the stops that interests you the most and only get off the bus just to see those so you’re not in a rush.
For example,
Golden Gate Park,
Golden Gate Bridge,
Palace of Fine Arts,
Lombard Street,
Washington Square (little Italy/Chinatown)
were places that I spent an hour at and skipped the rest of the stops.
@@tommyinsane9932 thank you so much! It's gonna be very helpful for my trip.
Good luck and have fun over there! ☀️
I loved your bus ride tour. How does this bus ride work? Is it one long ride and you get off and in as you please? Pay one price?
How far fr your hotel walk to bus stop wait 😊 interesting coz thought summer want to take a trip 😅😊
I parked a minute away from the bus stop location 😅 you can buy a ticket from any of their bus stops and get on
Hey Man!!! thank you for this vid..very informative.... im curious tho.. how's safety there? other vlogs highlighted the safety issue there? mind to give us how do u find the place .. i mean the atmosphere..
Don’t let social media and news discourage you from visiting places you want to go ✌️
@@tommyinsane9932 well said man… thank you so much 😎😊 appreciate ur reply… 😘
Nope wouldn't go. I live 40 miles south of there and the only time I would is if someone else would drive their car. That way it's their car that gets broken into. I work for a food supply company and our drivers in the city always complain of having to watch where they step to avoid feces and needles. None of them go there for leisure.
Traveling to San Francisco Tuesday would you recommend public transport or rent a car ? Thanks great video
I would recommend a car if you have places you want to specifically visit such as a bakery, beach, or store. If your visit is less specific and overall sightseeing, public transportation is best as there’s less stress about driving and parking fees.
Do you have any recommendations to park my car so I can take the big bus instead? BTW the video are Great!
Is there place on Golden Gate Park where you can take a good picture of the view of the bridge?
Not that I know of sorry
Sorry if I missed it, was all this done in one day? I've got a short weekend stay coming up, and this seems like a great use of my one day!
Yes, it was all done in one day :)
I will be in SF in May. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and great video. Did you buy the bus ticket in advance?
Yes I bought it online and showed them the QR code from the email receipt which they scanned. They print out a physical ticket from that code which is what you show the bus drivers to get back on the bus at whichever stop.
Here’s the big bus tour website:
www.bigbustours.com/en/san-francisco/san-francisco-bus-tours
Did u catch the b.a.r.t? Do u think it's better to just use the big bus for transportation? Very great vlog
I didn’t use the bart system
I think the big bus is great for sightseeing San Francisco’s main tourist areas. Bart is better to go from city to city in the Bay Area
Bart is also way cheaper. I think it was around $10 last time versus big bus at ~$50.
Thank you comment
@@tommyinsane9932 thanks so much! I will be visiting next month🙌🏽
I hope you have a blast there! The weather is gonna be AMAZING!
@Tommy Insane yayyyy!!!thank you ✨️✨️✨️
Omg don't use BART!
Thanks for the compliment haha
do you have to start the tour at Fisherman's wharf or can you hop on your first bus at one of the other locations?
You can start the tour at any of the locations you see the bus stop. Tell the driver you’d like to buy a ticket and they’ll pull out a card reader. Likewise you can end your tour wherever you’d like
OMG this bus is fun, I might try it. What is the app you used for bus stops?
Highly recommend! I used their official app, Big Bus Tours
@@tommyinsane9932 Thanks so much, I will try this next month when I visit the Bay Area
@leftovers2go198 hope you have a great trip!
@leftovers2go198 hope you have a blast
May I ask which month were u there?
This was in June
I heard that many shops are closed due to safety issues. Did you feel unsafe?
I didn’t visit any shops while on the bus tour and when did get off the bus to walk around I felt 100% safe.
Can I buy this ticket online? And which website. Thanks
www.bigbustours.com/en/san-francisco/san-francisco-bus-tours
Click Buy Tickets. I chose the Essential Ticket/Day 1 for $65.70
How much the ticket?
I think $65 per person last time I went
♥️😁😀♥️♥️♥️♥️
😄
How to buy ticket in big bus tour?
You can buy online, here:
www.bigbustours.com/en/san-francisco/san-francisco-bus-tours
Or you can buy the ticket directly from the bus driver wherever you see the bus stop in the city
@@tommyinsane9932 im here now in mason st. Hostel..buy ticket online or in redemtion center near hilton.
Oh wow! Check out a bakery in Chinatown (red bean, egg custard, pork bun, etc) you might like it and I also hope you have a BLAST of a day there!!
Is it safe to walk in that st before going Little Italy?
I felt safe the whole time. Didn’t see any homeless or dangerous people where I went
👍💯
👌🤓
Tommy, Chinatown...North Beach = best food
I had some fried pork belly from Chinatown and it was very good!
How many hours did this day encompass?
Around 8 hours
Where was your first stop? :)
I mean is there a designated stop/station where the tour starts? Thanks :)
Heya you can buy the ticket from the bus driver at any of their stops and hop right on in. Technically the tour starts at their building across from Boudin Bakery on Jefferson and Mason as the buses take off from there
I will visit SF 2025
I hope you have a blast!
Can I pay the tickets there? How much?
Yes or online. I don’t remember what I payed exactly but expect around $65
Thank u so much
i will be there in San Francisco next week and i will be landing around 11 am and my next flight is 11 pm which is i will be there for 12 hours. Can I book big bus tour after 1 pm coz after 11 am it will take time from airport to big bus stop
Yes you can book at any time, in person at any of their stop locations (card only) or online.
@@tommyinsane9932 thanks for the response! Can u help me how to get big bus tours to that place via bus route
Which option was this? The most basic ride? The basic one doesn’t say it crosses the golden gate bridge… yours seems like the bus crossed the golden gate bridge..
This was the basic ride or cheapest one that crosses the Golden Gate Bridge because they have a stop (11) on the other side
The other bridge would be the ''Bay Bridge''
Thanks. I should’ve looked that up and added it in for others to know as well
Motorroller in Germany 😊
The bay is still beautiful despite the news
Agreed!
Actually the view on that other side of the Golden Gate Bridge is much better if you walk up the road.
bro it's called North Beach. not Little Italy. Yes it's historically italian but it's also a lot other things.
Thanks for the clarification
that cinnamon bun...get your money back...
Too late lol
I live 40 miles south of Frisco. What a crappy city. A lot of closed stores, streets smell like urine. Thieves broke into our delivery truxls 4 times last year.
Thanks for a different perspective
how much is the bus tour?
$65.70
Yo, listen up, let me tell you a tale,
'Bout a city where the left's set to prevail.
San Francisco, once a city so bright,
Now drowning in chaos, day and night.
Far-left politics, they preach it loud,
But the streets ain't safe, it's getting wild.
Crime's on the rise, homelessness too,
In the land of tech giants, what they gonna do?
The streets are cluttered, tents everywhere,
Politicians talk, but they don't really care.
Tech moguls thrive, while the rest suffer,
In a city where the dreams just smother.
San Francisco, once a beacon so grand,
Now sinking fast in this misguided land.
So let this rap be a wake-up call,
Before the city's demise, we gotta stand tall!
