A very enjoyable ride! And thanks for taking us along! Yeah, it's too bad NJT doesn't do a better job of keeping the windows clean, dirty window making the sun glare worse sure didn't make your filming easier. It looked like a fun trip just the same!
Love seeing my state’s mass transit system represented! The only comment I have is to maybe not have what you’re saying be also written on screen. It’s a bit distracting having essentially subtitles that can’t be switched off. That being said, love the video, and can’t wait for more 👍
Though I can't explain why it's a deadhead going back, I might have a reason why it's stopping at New Bridge Landing. My dad has told me that New Bridge Landing is the last station with a siding before the New York stations. So, New Bridge to Pearl River has no sidings whatsoever.
Teterboro is the station closest to me and on AM rush hour service some trains skip it so if I can I usually take the longer trip to Essex Street. Anderson Street had a beautiful old Erie wood station house that burned to the ground a few years back. Cranbury Junction has great ice cream and Lido pizza is not far away. I never knew about this deadhead service midday to New Bridge Landing (formerly North Hackensack) .
Infact my Dad grew up in Hackensack Nj in 1980 on Hobart street and when he was in Hackensack High school he might saw the NJ transit GP40Ps and GP40FH-2 and F40PHs
What day was this filmed? #99 replaces train #49 (Hoboken, NJ > Middletown, NY) as it serves two extra stops, otisville and port Jervis. Only runs a couple days a year, although it is basically the same as 49.
Clear announcements but not so clear windows! One a day seems pretty infrequent for a built up area like that but it looks like, from the map, that plenty of other trains cover the route but maybe you have to change?
Review your phraseology, it’s very awkward and the meaning is difficult to comprehend at times. Diminishes what is otherwise very informative and enjoyable.
Tied with the once a day weekday Raritan Valley Line Raritan to Hoboken (with no return in the evening).
Train #99 with 3 cars. Oh how sad it is. It used to have 6 to 7 cars and was always packed...
