    I love love LOVE how they'll mouth at each other and psyche each other up at the beginning of the run. :D Like a football team slapping each others' helmets before a game.

    They were gagging to go 😂 I hope you make more vids cuz I see this ones real old. We are just starting out bike joring so we can never see enough videos showing us how it's done! Subscribed!

      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are newer videos but some family problems this winter meant we didn't get out as much. We'll be back soon when it's cooler 😁

    • @Just2Huskies
      @Just2Huskies 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Lilley well hope everything's better now!
      I think we'll have to stop for now too as we've done lots of reading and it seems she's not old enough to pull anddd we need to invest in a good fitted harness! Watching your videos is great tho! It's amazing to see them doing what they're bred for, just beautiful to watch. One question tho! Which is left and right? Gee or haw!? 🙈 ive seen people use them different ways?

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lady The Husky Gee is left and Haw is right. They were originally Scottish words used for draft horses but taken by sled dog mushers. Proud to be Scottish! Yes, get a good harness. We use Canadog cross backs. I've a young bitch who'll be 18 months when it's time so she'll be ready - 4 dog runs 😁

    Amazing! i have seen way too many sled dogs in urban areas that are just obese and dying of boredom from the slow walks they take. So sad that people bred them and raise them as aesthetic toy dogs.

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thanks for the feedback - yes, that's a pet hate of ours, seeing any obese dogs. especially sled dogs.
      We're out in the country but just have the road in front of us which is fun!!

    • @Nocturne33
      @Nocturne33 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buibuiopolis Mayor well there are people who just want a their dog to act like a normal dog.

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Prepare your anus no such thing as a 'normal dog'. Each one is different and have different needs. Sled dogs instinct is to pull therefore is completely normal to them.

    Itd be cool if you had like a phone charger powered by the wheels turning. Litteral husky powered phone.
    So they ever just stop randomly to smell something like some other dogs poop?

      TheReal ra I never said they could. And you're right! This was what huskies were and are bred for - think that's a widely known fact 😂😂😂😂

    • @thedarkmajesty1773
      @thedarkmajesty1773 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Lilley They were mainly bred to pull loads of stuff in them and run long distances with the loads. Running is an adaptation, while huskies sole purpose was to travel higher distances with heavy stuff.

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol cheers -fak but you can still do this. There are special urban mushing groups. Chris Woody runs one and he'll have more advice on mushing in an urban environment.
      I've even done it sitting on a skateboard 😁 great fun!!
      And good luck with the pup. Hell not be pulling for at least a year but can run with you. Loads of advice on here from really good people.

      Antihistamines? :-)

    • @oneandonlyminecrafte
      @oneandonlyminecrafte 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Lilley well is it strong? Because I'm already using normal allergy medicine and yet I can't even rest my face on a dog or a cat. last time I did, I got red ashes all over and my nose started to get all trashy

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'd go along to your doctor & explain the issue. There may be something he could give that would relieve the symptoms to let you go out to see a Husky. I'd also get to see if there are any Huskies locally to you and see how you react to them. My wife has bad allergies but Huskies do not seem to bother her skin/breathing at all, whereas a cat would. Hope you get that mush!

    • @oneandonlyminecrafte
      @oneandonlyminecrafte 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Lilley Alright, thanks for the answer! I can't do it in the near future though since it would have to be alone for too long.

  • @mrfitness7658
    @mrfitness7658 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    this is so cool man did u train your dogs to do this ? and are u not scared of them running on the wrong side of the road just wondering :D

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +KacperMuscle its a combination of having a good team and keeping them right. Traffic isn't a real problem here as there are so many racehorse stables, traffic is always usually slow. It is a good adrenaline rush though when they run out following a car after we've waited till its passed.

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the comment, appreciated. As I've said to others, just get him used to your commands e.g. 'Gee and Haw'. When you're out walking, use these commands to change direction etc. so he gets used to them & knows what to do. As its a sled dog, you'll find a lot is instinctive. Its us owners who need the training :-) Give me a shout of you've any questions; happy to help.

    could you think a husky could also be happy by just running next to his owner for like half an hour a day ?

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question - of course he would! As long as he's with you and out enjoying himself, he'll be happy as Larry. If it's a husky I would look at cana-cross setup so he's secure & there are no 'recall' mishaps :-)
      Huskies have it in their blood to pull & love it - they'll get just as excited at the prospect of going out for a run! Hope that helps

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can trek for hours, but depends on the dog & training. Its in their instinct to pull, so would be an ideal companion & am sure you'll be struggling to keep up with him! Just read up on the breed and make sure you wear a belt & harness - this is not a breed you should let off the lead.

      Heavy Metal Huskies hi - were in upper Lambourn, near Hungerford in west Berkshire. We live by all race horse gallops so have some great runs.
      It's a pawtrekker scooter so has a pretty solid attachment for them. Just got a new bitch so looking forward to a rig and four dog team.

    how did you teach them when to go left nd right, stop and go faster

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Rhys Horgan we just start using the commands while out walking or hiking with them. They shouldn't be pulling any weight until a minimum of 1 year old (I wait a bit longer), so gives you plenty of time. It just comes down to time and patience with them. Remember always to reward using your voice when they do it right, but don't tell them off if they do anything wring. Repeat the action with them to do it right and then reward. You'll get there :-)

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, Huskies get a special high protein, grain free diet with a fresh roast chicken. They do get plenty of raw fresh bones too.

      Hevi Ibrahim hi, as we are on scooters the dogs are pulling. If you watch the video it's fairly obvious they are pulling under command.

  • @Nocturne33
    @Nocturne33 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    how did you make them do that?

    • @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar
      @ChrisLilleymaccsiccar  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Training, making it fun and a big heap of their instinct to just pull! If you spend time with them getting them used to the commands, and work up to them pulling, you'll end up with a pack ready to go! The other thing is to always keep it safe, and foremost their health. You'll have lots of fun with them if you do :-)
