  • Finally the weather picks up and I get a chance to fly . This is my latest model an Fms Fox 3000. It has a three meter wingspan and is extremely tricky to launch by hand . Using the dolly makes it easy. I have discovered the electrical connection feeding the wing servos is not very good. I will replace these connections with decent plugs and sockets. It took me a couple of hours to repair the crack in the fuselage and she is ready to fly again. Thank you for watching..

    Nice. Thks.
    I see...
I fly with FMS ASW-17 since a year.
I will check my servo connectors.
Thks for having sharing your experience.

I had some RC trouble caused by HF problems around, and my FOX crashed nearly the same way. But only some litttle scratches and small repairings where nessessary to bring that rought Bird back to the sky. FMS made a good Job with theire Planes !!! Now I use 2 Frequenzy RC (2.4GHz and 900MHz simultanously) and never had any more Problems with that Beauty

I'm thinking the left wing was not snapped in all the way & moved out breaking the connection. From what I have seen it's a common problem.

.. these crappy multiplex connectors that are firmly embedded in the fuselage and wing roots!! I really can't understand why a manufacturer would create such unreliable crap. Had exactly the same problem with my FunRay...

    Hello. What was wrong?
On the ground evthg was allright with rudder flaps and ailerons...
What is the root cause of this crash ?
Pbm with your TX? Signal Lost?😢

No signal lost at all. The root of the problem was the stupid man who put it together (Me) I should never have trusted the multiplex connections built in to the root of the wing. There was and still is a slight bit of play at the wing seat this was enough to break the connection to the servo on one wing. I have now done away with this and use normal servo connection on the underside of the wing. It doesn't look as pretty but allows a small amount of play with breaking the connection. Thank you for your comment happy landings. FDO

Sorry to see your mishap. I have the Fox 3m,had around 12 flights so far, no problems so far.
Can I ask, what camera are you using?

Hi flyeruk1686 . I was a bit miffed I must say. I have since reworked the aileron connections using standard servo plugs and sockets in such a way that the wing can move a little without putting any pressure on the electrical connections and repaired the crack in the fuselage adding a coupe of carbon spars to strengthen things up a bit. . I really should have done this before I flew it having had similar problems with the Cularis . I use a go-pro 7 silver on a head strap. It does ok but of course doesn't have a zoom. I can zoom in a bit in post but of course the resolution suffers. Best wishes FDO

It was a pain but she's all fixed now and has flown again. I will get another video of her once we get some flying weather..
