I actually have seen the tenth and 25th anniversary and whilst I would love it to be the whole production on CD or CD Rom. I think if everyone tried to look at the actual physical. emotional, vocal,thinking and spiritual input as a whole I do think. that this incredible production would touch our hearts in the most awesome way. I love Michael Ball...I actually adore him ( and then some!) it took a while for me to adjust to the new cast. there is no doubt it is as far as I and so many millions are concerned the most spectacular musical ever put on anywhere is this. I am a believer of Jesus Christ..I think that this is not an in your face thing. However it shows a man's journey and those he meets. my favourite character is Eponine. the latest. but I listen and watch daily because of how it reminds me of where I have come from.
Alfie at 0:26! Clear, strong, perfectly on pitch, hands on his hips, head scratch -- easy as pie If this is what he sounded like in rehearsal, no wonder he blew everyone away at the shows. Best Valjean I've ever heard.
I dont tbh, he knows what he is getting into. If he doesnt his voice covered then he should deal with it. These are singers that have been singing mostly longer than he has been alive.

I had seen Lea in Chess many years ago. I've been a Les Mis fan since it came out (theatre geek and I graduated HS in '85, so it shaped all the audition pieces for my college days) Finding Alfie was a pleasure, and Ramin, too!
Love the fact that after Alfie's power note, Lea fist bumps the aie and Matt Lucas is just bowing down to Alfie. Also, anyone notice that Alfie Boe is the only person NOT wearing an orange identification bracelet? He's just so awesome that everyone knows who he is. OMG, Alfie Boe. :DD I love the complete disconnect between the voice and the appearance. He seems so serious and epic on the stage... it's just so funny seeing him in a t-shirt and jeans, all casual and relaxed.... and still singing just as amazingly. He looks like when he gets to that last note he's just like "okay I'm done, now I'll just relax and hold this for a while".
Hearing Ramin Karimloo singing and being such a powerhouse and at the same time hearing Nick Jonas shows how much of a difference there is between their musical genres.

This was the show Ramin said he cannot do Valjean because of Alfie Boe but he was still able to do Valjean perfectly afterwards. I love Ramin's humility and dedication.
There is so much I love about this. Firstly, Killian in a superman top :) talking to Sam and Nick at the start, Alfie's little scratch of his head while belting out BEGINNN, Matt Lucas praising him, Lea laughing at Cameron Blakely and then his weird "suffer", Killian screwing up his timing in ABC cafe, Katie Hall's brown hair, Ramin's little "move out of the way Enjys coming through" with his arms in one day more!! Love love love

I was lucky enough to see this particular cast live when they were at the O2 arena and I was lost for words when it was finished. The show as a whole is incredible!!!! And I have to say Matt Lucas's voice is better than what I thought it was going to be, he has a nice voice!!!

I saw this in the movie theater release, and the entire cast was phenomenal, aside from poor Camp Rock Jonas. He has grown immensely, but he’s just not cut out for THIS show with THESE talented performers. Did anyone see this? At the end, the original Broadway cast joined them to sing One Day More and Michael Ball emerged and saved the role, as expected. And Frances Ruffelle was KICKIN in her little dress and heels! Poor Nick. I am a fan, don’t get me wrong, he’s just not a Broadway boy :)
Returning conductor David Charles Abell... I love that man so much. Can't come CLOSE. Also, Lea and Jenny are such vetrans to this Les Mis concert thing!

Nick did a fine job for, say, a high school or college production - in my opinion. His voice just didn't match ANYONE else in this concert. All of those trained singers. The comic roles, of course, don't need fine-tuned voices, but the main roles do if you have that caliber of lead singers. He's got a nice voice, but not a great voice, and it showed.

It's hard to give Nick Jonas some slack when this was a 25th anniversary production. It was ambitious and important. It required someone with better preparation and technique. Nick Jonas is a good kid but he wasn't at the level of performing a musical of this size. Many singers train years and years just to get to state productions, so this is what I can't just let it slide. No offense to all his fans, but let's all be honest: It wasn't good

1:03, the first when I saw this video I was like hey she is really talented who is she and God her voice is so chilling. And then when I saw the same lady singing "A Whole New World" and "Reflection" from Disney's Aladdin and Mulan respectively, (the songs that enlightened my childhood) I was like what is she, is she a Goddess? No, she is my fairy God Mother.
I hear Ramin is considering playing Jean Valjean. He should do it!! When he walked out there and sang "One more day before the storm ..." in this real 25th anniversary performance, there was a huge roar from the crowd, who were so happy to see The Phantom out there again. Also, at the end of this performance, he got one of the biggest cheers from the crowd! There is a TH-cam video of him singing "Let Him Live" and he is out of this world when he sings it.
I applaud Nick Jones for taking on this role. Many opera and musical theatre singers use nasal tones to cut through an orchestra. Yes, he would have benefited from more training and preparation but he shined where it counted. His emoting was spot on and his focus was impeccable. I imagine he learned a lot from his cast mates.

I saw Cameron Blakely (the guy playing Bamatabois at 1:38) playing Thernardier in London and he was AMAZING. definitely my favourite Thernardier of all time. this guy is fantastic! And He's obviously got a winning personality which helps in this business :)
+Michelle Artrup He was outmatched in every category - acting, singing, stage presence. He is an amateur surrounded by professionals at the top of their game and, unfortunately for him, it is terribly, painfully obvious. He should have realized that they had offered him the role only for the publicity and not any talent on his part, and had the dignity and integrity to turn it down for someone who actually deserved to stand on that stage.

He was in multiple Broadway shows as a kid. I just think when the Jonas brothers started he lost his musical theater technique

I saw Cameron Blakely (the guy playing Bamatabois at 1:38) playing Thernardier in London and he was AMAZING. definitely my favourite Thernardier of all time. this guy is fantastic! And He's obviously got a winning personality which helps in this business :)

+Michelle Artrup He was outmatched in every category - acting, singing, stage presence. He is an amateur surrounded by professionals at the top of their game and, unfortunately for him, it is terribly, painfully obvious. He should have realized that they had offered him the role only for the publicity and not any talent on his part, and had the dignity and integrity to turn it down for someone who actually deserved to stand on that stage.
