I've heard that Carnival is the Walmart of cruise lines...thanks for a realistic review of the good and bad. A party boat booze cruise is not for me. No offense to anyone who enjoys that experience.

Honorable mention: Frontier Airlines😂
I cruised with carnival and it was actually not bad
Based on the price this trip went exactly as expected.
so are the higher priced cruises more (for lack of a better word "civilized") and how much are they? never been but interested
@@mrffbmanagerguy6322 yes. Norwegian or royal are better in my opinion.

$11 a day with food?!?!?! Better than being homeless.
$11 a day you could just go from one to another and just live on the cruise ship cheaper than being homeless in your car in the new America thanks Joe!

You should record your experience on the cruise and post it on TH-cam!
Even on the cheaper ones you can avoid activities that you don’t want to be apart of . Generally even the more out going people are respectful but keep in mind it’s a ship so only so far you can get

11 dollars a day? That's about 400 to 500 a month. Thats food and all amenities included? Thats cheaper then rent on land

I was on the conquest in 2005, during hurricane katrina. We left New Orleans just a few days before the hurricane hit. I vividly remember my parents watching the storm track and I knew they were getting concerned. On our way back we couldn’t outrun the hurricane and wound up in the roughest water I’ve ever experienced. We weren’t allowed outside, we couldn’t go to certain top deck interior areas, glass breaking left and right. While walking you would literally be thrown as the ship went through the waves. Quite the experience to live through. We were rerouted to Galveston as the city of New Orleans was wiped off the map. Our 7 day cruise turned into 8 days as they allowed us to stay overnight in Galveston to help with getting home. Unbelievable experience that I’ll never forget. But because of this experience, the conquest is my favorite ship of all time.
Wow, what an experience. I’ve been on cruise ships during storms but Katrina was something else. I was in Clearwater Beach, Florida as Katrina was passing through the gulf and it was a bit more gloomy and stormy for a couple of days but nothing out of the ordinary.
Wow that's wild good thing all of you made it out ok , I will be on the conquest in September 😊
you should write a book about your experience! my God...
We were headed for Tampa on a cruise ship, but ended up in Fort Lauderdale. There were puke bags every few feet in the hallways. When we went around the tip of Florida there was a bunch of cruise ships in cluster waiting for Katrina to decide where it wanted to go.
Hey guys 👋🏾
Checking in from New Orleans ⚜️⚜️⚜️ We’re still here 💪🏾 at the bottom of the map 😉
My wife and I, we are an older couple, would go on the Carnival Liberty every year for Thanksgiving /her birthday cruise. It's a cheap cruise and we found it was full of people just wanting to party. A little too rowdy for us. We couldn't even go out and enjoy our balcony with all the people smoking pot. When covid hit, we stopped cruising. When you pay more, I feel like it's more enjoyable for us. Sorry if I sound like a grumpy old man. Enjoy the video.
You don’t sound like a grumpy old man you hit the bull’s-eye dead on. My wife and I hadn’t been on a carnival in five years and don’t plan on going back.
By the way try celebrity.
I hate what the internet has become. You’re allowed your opinion. You had an experience you didn’t enjoy and expressed it respectfully. There’s nothing wrong with you not liking it and you don’t sound like a grumpy old man. Carnival has never done me wrong but that is MY experience. I’m rambling at this point but I just wanted to let you know you have the right to your opinion and you expressed it respectfully. I hope you and your wife continue to cruise and find a better fit for you.
Happy Sailing!
how do people get weed on the ship? Asking for a friend....lol

All the drug use, loose women, drama, and fights seems like a plus to me. Never been on a cruise before, but when I do go, it's going to be a $50 carnival cruise. Thanks for the great review.
If I were still in my 20s, I’d agree with you. Usually cruises are known for old people, but the two cruises I went on in my teens, and again in my 20s, were both filled with drinks and girls. Good times.
I have to say... my recent Galveston to Cozumel Carnival cruise was ratchet all the way across the board. DO NOT RECOMMEND! There is something about the mix of people on this short cruise run that is inherently messy. I did a similar RC cruise and the difference was startling.

The one thing that would totally keep me off a Carnival Cruise is the every 30 minute announcements. I would not be able to tolerat that at all. I am glad I watched this video because no matter how cheap the price is, when I don't want to be in the action, I value my peace and quiet. Thank you!
Quiet is my favorite

It was a $200 cruise.
It was a $150 cruise.
@@b_ks So the title 50$ cruise is a lie?
It started at 50 bucks but with taxes and fees goes up to 150, just the nature of cruising. I went on an MSC cruise and it had a 600 buck gratity fee on top of the $1,500 we already spent. @@jamiejones6994

For the price, this actually sounds pretty nice for low income individuals, definitely not families though. My parents go on luxury cruises and I assure you that those cruises have their issues as well. My advice though is never engage troublesome passengers, discreetly inform security because you don't want a problem with anyone on board if you can help it.
when there are enough troublesome people around, you don't have to look for trouble. trouble will find you easy enough. i'm just surprised that homo sapiens have survived as long as we have, with all the idiots/troublemakers out there.
Luxury cruises have their issue, but not like the cheap cruises 🙄
It’s because the idiots in the past were sent to prison and tortured.

Absolutely!
This video was extremely well done. Good job😎👍
My only issue with Carnival is unless you were at the Casino or drinking yourself silly there wasn’t much to do during mornings or midday. At night they had performances on stage which were actually very entertaining and comedy shows alternating times in the evening. The ping pong balls and basketballs were missing the whole time and there was a gym but it felt like it was closed for half the cruise. Unless your idea of fun is trivia or board games you would’ve been pretty bored until 6 pm at sea
Not twerking and throwing it back 😂😂😂 I need to book asap!
My exact thoughts when he said that😅

I sailed on the Conquest for a week in June 2019. Best week of my life. On deck 10, directly above the bridge, is known as the secret deck. I was there every night. No lights, no people, and serene views and blissful breeze.
Man even for something built in 2002 I'm still amazed at how insanely large and complicated these ships are. I've got an amateur interest in early-mid 20th century cruise liners and warships, and man...for the cheapest cruise available this is ultra-mega super-luxe first class for $200 by those standards... great video!

Finally a cruise for the Spirit Airlines species.
The classic Carnival ships, including Carnival Conquest, were designed by architect Joe Farcus. They are so underrated. He was there from the beginning and deserves some credit for helping the cruise industry shake its stodgy image. He has a book with a lot of photos from the ships he designed.
I thought the Conquest was beautiful!
Launched in 2002
I hollered at "hint of sewage" 😮
We had the same exact experience on Carnival Radiance, the LA version of the “section 8 cruise” 😂 particularly with the comedians. First was absolutely hilarious. Second was so bad we left after about 10 mins.
We took Carnival Conquest for a 2 week repositioning from San Diego to Miami. So it was definitely a much different vibe than the 4 day.
Yeah. Carnival can be GA-ZET-TOE. No surprises here. We have done the other smaller Carnival ships. Yes - ghetto. We have also done BTW - Mardi Gras and Celebration (their largest ships.) They were civilized. However, I have to give a shout out to cruise director David Rose (Magic) - he was great and could really work the crowd. The child took us back! Great review Jay!
I went on the 8 day, 7 night carnival cruise to the Bahamas out of NY/NJ and they rarely ever were on the loudspeaker, the app was HEAVILY pushed so people could do stuff at their leisure, they quietly left notes of what excursions you could book while you were out at dinner (their dining hall was AMAZING with the best staff) AND no matter what they remembered who you were, your favorite drinks, your favorite foods and suggested amazing things bc they got to know you as people. AMAZING cruise line.
How was the feeling of the cruise, was it a hard core party crowd or just the usual have a good time.
@@Lovetheworldbeone It was a good mix! There were nightly club activities and over 21 activities if you wanted to party that happened later at night, tons of comedy shows for the chill late night crowd. There was always a mix of stuff to do during the day too. Absolutely best vacay I've ever taken
@@AmberlynTucker Do you remember which ship?

That is the difference between a 4 day cruise and 7 day cruise... more ratchet people can afford the 4 day cruise
Very good review. I have never been on a cruise yet. This certainly gives very good insight into the pros and cons of the bargain cruise. Never thought a cruise event existed for under 200$ with taxes and fees. It costs 80$ for a return ferry ticket to Catalina Island, and that's only one hour each way with no cabin!

Carnival cruise sounds perfect for young adults 18 to 28 starter cruise.
A few years ago, my girlfriend and I set sail from New York City on a cruise. For the full experience, we opted to stay in a suite located on a high floor. The New Yorkers who were also on the cruise exhibited very questionable character traits. The same group of them was seen by us stealing watches from the watch booth, fighting, and smoking weed in their rooms. Their attire for breakfast and dinner was wearing thong bathing suits. At every event that my friend and I went to, they were always there, and they never failed to engage in some kind of brawl or to behave in a manner that was both loud and annoying.
Ugh, dang white people…
😂😂
“New Yorkers”
I love the tackiness of the older Carnival ships!
Your romm looked fairly good. I am glad it was not a nightmare for you-Great video-Thank you. I am not a cruise guy.
What a great video!! Loved it.
I love the Conquest, we cruised on it in 2008 and 2009. I feel like the cheaper a cruise is, the more likely that you will get people who dont get to do stuff like that often and dont know the appropriate behaviours and attitudes on ship, which is so different from being on land. And the cheaper a cruise, the more likely to get more people who should know better but will spend more to drink more and then act like fools.
Some people don't have the appropriate behavior & attitude to be in public anywhere lol
Yup!! Totally agree! Makes is soooo awkward when they come up to you, beaming w/ excitement and in COMPLETE disbelief about some standard cruise 🚢 feature 😅

I love the commentary. The experience couldn't have been explained any better. Well done!
This was an objective review that covered every base, so to speak. I wouldn't be so diplomatic next time, though. There are enough types of cruises out there for one to feel justified in speaking his mind on a specific cruise or cruise line. Regardless, you did a great job, and I watched the whole thing. Thanks for your brevity, too! Much appreciated! ❤
Absolutely love this review. I found it very entertaining.
My family took our first cruise on the Conquest in 2007. Haven't been on the ship since but we have very fond memories of this ship.
The Conquest for my first ever cruise and that ship will always hold a special place in my heart. The one thing I do not like about Carnival is the announcements. No so much the amount of them, but the fact that you cannot hear them in your room. You hear the tones and you have to jump up off your bed/couch/balcony and sprint to the door and open it so you can hear the announcement in the hallways. I know some people do not want announcements coming int their room, but I would actually prefer it.
Should have a button for a speaker in room
Ours was in our room on the Mardi Gras
i just tune them out, no problem
Just got back from Carnivals Miami to Jamaica run. Always felt like the most melanin deficient family in the lounges and clubs just glowing in the dark but it was the funnest cruise weve ever been on out of 8. People got drunk, OtHeR, and crazy but always looked out for each other and were there to have fun not be rude to each other.
I like the frequent announcement. Communication is key, even though theres an app. I like knowing and getting reminded what events are going on that day.
Sounds like the soul plane of the seas. Great commentary

I've sailed Conquest three times and going a 4th time in October. I've always had a good time on Conquest, and every Carnival Cruise I've taken. One of the previous conquest cruises there definitely was some "shenanigans" going on, but nothing that I was directly involved in and that even came close to impacting my cruise negatively. Always enjoy the live music, comedy, and guy's burgers among other things.

Those immoral people on that cruise shall be punished
It's totally obvious that you are a performer. Every performing artist I've ever met in NYC has this ability to be gregarious while at the same time being incredibly neutral and having a demeanor that makes it impossible to determine where they are from and what their background is.

Unfortunately, no I guess fortunately I'm starting to realize that Carnival Cruise Line is going down hill and down hill fast.
Been loyal with Carnival for several years (Plantium) and recently tried Royal Caribbean for the second time. Passengers on Royal were all very well behave and respectful.
May even become Loyal to Royal in the near future.
It's really ashame that Carnival is allowing such behaviors as you described to continue on. ( And we have also experienced).
Also I appreciate your views and hope some day get to me you on a cruise! Take Care & Happy Cruising!

My husband and I were on this cruise. It was such a pleasure meeting you during the embarkation process. Thanks for the chat. Love your channel ❤️.
We lived on Guy’s burgers and pizza bc the buffet and dining room food was awful. There was a nasty smell of death on the lido deck. Just nauseating. Someone thought it would be a great idea to bring a toddler in a diaper in the adult pool. Staff did nothing. When they put the roof on the pool area, the smell of chemicals made that area unusable. We saw a girl fight at customer service desk. Wow! Savage.
The violin trio were amazing, and we met lots of very friendly people.

I went on Carnival several times in the past, but no more. Too much of a party boat years ago. And I can really see how the short / low priced cruises would attract a different crowd. Prince & Holland America are more civilized and enjoyable to me.

2:46- YES! I love the conquest class ships. We’ve been on the glory two times and yes it’s a little dingy in places, but I think it’s a really nice size. Not too big, but also plenty of good spaces to just hang out indoors on the ship 😊
I enjoyed your video I was hoping I could sneak in a vape cartridge sounds like my type of cruise ✌️
Greetings,
As always another fantastic very very informative video 🇺🇸🎉🍾🇺🇸.
Keep producing more videos.
Love your reviews. You are honest, concise and entertaining!!! 😊
I've never been on a cruise before and I'm not sure it's for me (my vacations are usually backpacking in the mountains). At any rate, this video popped up for me and I really enjoyed it. You are a vivid storyteller and I felt like I was able to get some insight about why people go on cruises. Thanks.
Thought I was the only one that prefer the backpacking vaca over the Caribbean ones
@@JonChrymesanother backpacker here but this is so cheap it might be worth a side trip for fun. The slight smell of sewage and constant PAs are probably the deal breaker. I can roll with everything else though and a couple days on a tropical beach sounds really good with winter coming.
Super informative
I like your enthusiasm and candid report. I have never been on a cruise. I am planning one. from England.
The Carnival Conquest is the first ship I was ever on but that was way back in 2005 or 2006. It was a really nicely laid out ship with some wacky artwork but it definitely left me wanting to cruise again so I have fond memories
Honestly.....I had the best time on The Conquest! It is what it is because people have fun and just don't care or worry about what anybody else thinks. Been on both Sunrise and Conquest this past month and I like the vibe and flow of the Conquest as plenty of room for people to stretch out.
Very informative and helpful. Thank you sir.
Im planning on going on my 3rd cruise in June, this time, (Last cruise was when I was 18, im 23 now), im taking a bunch of friends! we are going to Princess Cay, and Nassau, on the Carnival Glory! Cant wait! Gotta live life when youre young!
