DITCH CLASS TO CUT GRASS! Mulching & Cleaning An Overgrown Ditch!

Another cool backyard project! We are mulching down an overgrown backyard ditch with Munchie the Prinoth M450e-900 mulcher! The ditch is also clogged with some logs and trees as well as some sediment so after mulching we are going to switch over to the ditching bucket to get this ditch cleaned out and flowing again!

Are you happy with the U55 or do you wish you would have purchased the 57? I am buying a machine and was just curious what your Pros / Cons were on each.

I love the U55 for what I do, mainly because it's basically a zero tail machine (the rear counterweight hangs over the track about 2.5 inches when you turn 90 degrees from the side) so this means I can go into very tight spaces like timber areas or backyards or along fences and not have to worry about the rear end swinging into an object. The engine and hydraulic system are exactly the same in both machines so there is no difference performance wise. The only real difference is the counterweight in the back (I think the 57 has a tail swing overhang of about 12 inches) and the 57 has a bit more reach in the arm length. The 55 has a shorter arm but this gives it a bit more arm breakout force (or crowd force) when digging. So both have advantages and disadvantages but I really like the U55 for what I do.
