To be honest, I really like the synthetic handle of this splitting axe. It adds to the light nature of the axe. The only real heavy portion is the cutting edge which allows yo to generate more force. I'm sure the STIHL axe to which you are referring is top notch. I certainly heard great things about their chainsaws. I do have a Husqvarna but STIHL would be my next purchase if I get another chainsaw.

I I wonder If an ash maded axe example product of STIHL is more durable or not. The handle of the ax is the most sensitive part.
