same video. repeated video
...
You have no idea how much I valued this video. Despite having a great GPA I still struggle with coding and understanding DSA, I graduate in 7 months and this video gave me tons of perspective and motivation. Thank you!
Glad to be of help! It can be hard to grasp coding, but I’m sure you’ll get it eventually 😀
At 32, I switched fields from graphic design to engineering. Last year, I was laid off and got into a car crash which resulted in injuries. I then enrolled in a university for a computer science degree and achieved a 3.0 GPA for the semester. I began coding in Python and my goal now is to secure a job in agriculture.
🙏
Coding in agriculture? Can you explain this further, I'm really interested. I currently have a job in fintech and its kinda stressful😅.
Did ,I just read "agriculture"? Can you elaborate ? Coding--> Agriculture
you are either trolling or interlinking robotics-coding-agriculture
Look up sustainable aquaculture and agriculture projects from the Moonshot factory. Those are good examples of using coding for datas Science. Coding can also contribute technologies like cell-based meat.(weird but its something companies explore) I know for farmed fish, they are more likely to get sea lice and quickly being in a contained environment. So you would use tech like lasers to zap them off the fish without harming them.
@@shesparks64
You don't actually suck at coding. You just didn't get A for school courses which are barely a reflection of real work. You choose to focus on real-world projects that's why u got chosen. Many of my friends did the same. Sacrificed their GPA by taking internships or focusing on personal projects
That’s a good way of looking at it!
Bingo.
I'm struggling with fear of failure, of embarrassing myself. Thank you so much for this video, just what I needed!
Glad it was helpful! Keep pushing on 🙌🏽☺️
Truly motivating, Low CGPA in my bachelors is killing me though I have completed many complex projects. Thank you Pooja for sharing your journey.
I totally understand the feeling. Hopefully the video helped in some way (-:
You rock Pooja! :) People that never give up like this are truly amazing. I have the same mindset. I believe things are possible even when people tell me I cant or its too hard.
Thank you! It helps me being a 3rd year undergrad. It gives me extra surge to stay longer with problems to find solutions, repeating and revising.
I had a 2.9 GPA, and only took intro to computer science as my only related tech class. 3 weeks ago I built an LLM-based capacitive search function. Your grades are not always a reflection of your talent.
You've skipped the MOST IMPORTANT part of how you've got your first developer job? was it a large company or small-mid company ? The process of finding a job is easy once you've got some kind of real work experience.
Thank you immensely for the uplifting and insightful content you consistently provide Pooja. Your dedication to sharing knowledge and inspiration is truly motivating for us all. Keep doing what you're doing 👍🏼👍🏼!
Thank you so much!! 😀 hope the video was helpful!
It surely was!
What an awesome way to start my year. too many thing to relate to. Thank you so much for sharing such geniue and honest experiences. Understanding that its a journey rather than a destination is my take away. Thank you so much
So glad you could relate (-:
Bout to start my software eng apprenticeship with Microsoft next week, my foot into the tech industry. Quite nervous about it but this has been a boost of confidence, so thank you.
@Burnlit1337 Congratulations, that’s a huge milestone! I have been cold applying for the past couple of years with no luck :( any way you can help me out? I am from the Seattle area and I plan on graduating after this quarter with nothing lined up and it would be a dream come true to work at Microsoft. I hope everything works out with your apprenticeship 🙏
Hey, how's it going?
@@misssparkle6421 The tech market has been pretty tough for entry level so I still haven’t been able to secure anything, but hopefully i find something before the year ends 🙏
Watched two of your videos and I love the content that you post. Nice to share the struggles and the outcome of your hard work. Keep up the good work.
These are really good advice delivered with humor. You are so creative that I have to subscribe!
Thanks so much ☺️
Really love your story-telling, Pooja! And the funny cutaways! 😄It's obvious you put a lot of thought into this video. I'm curious... And I hope that you might make a video about it someday? How do you balance TH-cam and working in tech. I'm really into photography. Absolutely love it. I also really love coding and have been working on a couple of personal projects and thinking of trying to get a SWE job. I really wanna excel at both. How do you do it?
I am trying to get my first certification in CyberSec, and this was very motivating. Thank you very much!!! Your content is great. Happy 2024!
Good luck with the certification! Thanks so much 😀
Well made! Congrats on your journey too!
Thank you!
Loved that you were so vulnerable and honest... this is super encouraging
Thanks so much 😀
Grateful to find this video. Was looking for this
THIS VIDEO IS SO MOTIVATIONAL! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Pooja!! i loved this video, thanks for being so real.
Also the clip of you playing the violin had me howlinggg LOL
This makes me grind for my dream company ! Thanks a lot Pooja, Love from India!!
You’ve got this! 💪🏽
Thanks Pooja!, your video gave me a new perspective as I'm currently job hunting .. on a side note: appreciate the effort of Andres and Brain too lol
Thanks, that was very inspirational.
Thank you!!
the editing in this is soooo good! Also Pooja, what mic and camera are you using to record this? Thanks so much
Thankyou so much...your story always inspiring me...I am really bad at coding now I see some little light ...& Little hope to restart it....thanks ...❤❤..one question what kind of project we should add in our resume...
Thanks for sharing your experience.
No problem (-:
Lot of these people who are too proud to have landed a job at MAANG and terrible at coding during the 2021 free money boom turned out to be a huge drag on real tech members. They get work done through "asking questions" even after being in the team forever and forget that the brain was given by God to be used. They eventually get into management(usually project management which is least technical) in a couple of years through their work relationships without knowing * and being unable to contribute what they should be.
Nah i think they're just a huge drag on those unworthy of leadership roles like you. Simply said, u only care abt yourself, you can't work in a team that's why. "Real tech" members especially senior roles would prefer ppl who ask questions, compared those who think they are smart and end up screwing up. PM being the least technical is far from the truth. PM needs to be familiar with literally every technical aspect especially when it comes to reviews. By the looks of it, you dont much have much experience to talk.
@@johnwig285 You must be one of those PMs who took the easy way out. Stay delusional! Stay Foolish!
I’m currently taking comp sci 1 and I always envisioned myself in these scenarios lol
Thank you so much. This video is so relatable. Its amazing
Thank You for Sharing your success story with us you have such nice content.
Appreciated!
this video reminds me of this great book on amazon, From Failure to Fortune : Unveiling Success in Setbacks
Ive had one year of experience and been looking for 16 months since that ended. During that job my brain would just freeze, it wouldnt let me connect the dots I needed to actually problem sole or do anythinbg, and the few small things I managed to do were painfully slow.
I dont know how to fix it and it just gets harder and harder to find a job or program again.
Thats okay though cause at this point I cant get the experience to get better because no one out there will give me a job. I just dont live in a tech hub and cant move to one.
Pooja i loved the video thanks for being so RReal.
I wish I had seen a video like this in 2006. I focused on my 2.9 GPA rather than my 3.5 in CS classes and the fact that I had a professor who graduated MIT who would vouch for me.
This is seriously one of the best videos about breaking into big tech. So many you get halfway in just to realize the guy was a physics/math double major from Carnegie Mellon who spent 6 months straight doing LeetCode then wrote an AI to solve LeetCode.
Great message!
Thank you (-:
I have 8.7 CGPA till 5th semester of BCA & I still stuck at coding 🤣
Gonna share this video with my friends for motivation
Ditto!
i like your energy and you make video in funny way really i love it!
Thanks so much!!
Thank you Pooja, thank you so much for this vid a lot 😇
No problem! 😀
yooooooooooo never thought you would reply and yup again thank you for replying to my small comment 😅@@PoojaDutt
nice macbook throw in the beginning :), hoping that thing still works :)
Haha thankfully it still does
omg.. i relate a lot to you, and those questions in early office days..btw love your videos fun and knowledge..kudos to youu
I'm seriously bad at logic building idk what should i do 😭
Great video!
Amazing, Thanks for this video!😊
No problem! ☺️
This is so motivating! Good luck.
Thank you! ☺️
thanks! ❤
😢 thank you ❤
I would like to switch from Tech support to SWE
Let’s Go Puuja!!!! You got me into coding 2 years ago and Other TH-camrs
Ahh so glad to hear! 🙌🏽
I just saw this video a few weeks ago and it boosted my confidence in learning coding. I'm self taught and I'm still training myself in Python but it feels really depressing when I can't solve a coding challenge.
You’ve got this! 💪🏽
@@PoojaDuttThank you 😃😃
my cgpa is low , also i am not good at coding but also not bad at coding .. what should i do , I am final year student of cs major
Thx 🙏🏾 ❤
I am a girl in CS and I'm struggling too. Even tho I am very good at Math and physical sciences, I still can't figure out how to study CS properly?
Pattern interrupts go crazy
Brought down production...been there, done that
Can you do a video about efficiently finding internship opportunities?
THANK YOU !!❤ I've been lost
Hopefully this helped (-:
What About AI Automation and Cutting Off Work Forces in Big Tech like Google & Paytm .
love you
Hello, I live in Turkey, my biggest dream is to be a good software engineer in the future and I want to work in big companies like Microsoft, Meta, Google, etc. Is this possible in Turkey or what conditions are required?
If it's an office one of this company in Turkey? If it's you exactly can work there!!! But if you really want to create new things , it needs to migrate to the USA)
@@detzel2397 thank you so much
Good video!! 1 year in and i have no idea what im doing 😢
You’ve got this 💪🏽 it just takes time. It took me years to feel comfortable coding
I really want to know what kind of coding you do
Are you sure you can code now better? It's just there are a lot of indians who accept indians for a job. So basically the indian manager took the indian girl. I worked with many indians and have never seen a good developers. Maybe it was my luck, idk, but it seems to me my experience is trending
I dont see you complaining when all this while white managers take white employees 😂😂😂 If now she cant code better, she would've been part of the massive lay offs
I cant even seem to be able to land a job right now. I do not know what to do anymore. I have been job hunting for 9 months now.
I’m sorry to hear. The market is not good right now - it’ll take some time to correct itself
Ah me and some of my friends are also in the same boat. Have you tried taking different paths? Like ML/devops?
I still suck at coding too haha - Great Video Pooja
Thanks Michael 😀
How did u learn how to code ?
Very cute words! Very motivational. Congrats.
Thanks!!
what an inspiring journey Pooja that you've shown us through this video! Thanks so much, really needed something like this _/\_
Thanks for the kind words 😊
the way you rolled your sponsor !!! man, you have got some creativity, don't you ??? enjoyed this video 🤣🤣
Thank you 😂
Hello Pooja
Thank you for this video. It really taught me a lot. Currently I'm an undergrad of computer science. Already a software developer. I still want to go higher into the industry. I really wish if there's a community by you that I can join maybe on slack to get more close to you ma'am.
If you don't mind, I'm always open to learn and grow.
I have a discord community, newsletter, products etc. through nas.io :) Check it out in the description of the video! You will be able to find a community there!
Did you attend Grad school or did you get your job with just your bachelors degree?
i love you
You are working for Microsoft and you own apple laptop? :D How does that work for you? (I am a sucker for apple, but I am afraid to get away from Windows!)
What do you all think about Bootcamps.
you know that 2.6 cgpa was a clickbait for me lol cuz mine is 2.45. so i will watch the entire video now lol
i was same in university afraid to ask questions. but i am embracing my failures, trying to learn how to code by teaching others.
Omg 😱 the moment the transcript showed up I was like "waaait the format looks exactly the same... could it be... OMGGGG it IS, it says UW-MADISON at stop, that's literally my university I'm at right now!"
twins :D
Pretty sure you have made this video before. If you need ideas, would love more content on your work at Microsoft (as much as you can reveal without causing NDA issues) , there is an endless stream of content there - and I don't mean the day in life of stuff. Like actual work related - projects, how you pick them, can you pick them, how you document, do you document, tools, beauracracies, salary negotiations, promotions, updating stuff, etc I say this as a big fan of you , don't mean to be negative , just that this video is redundant. Here is a link to your older video on this - th-cam.com/video/GvBgPBVcjEM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! That previous video is just a story about my journey (-: this video is about concrete failures/successes that I used to learn how to get into Microsoft. But they’re definitely similar!
But will definitely take that input! I’m hoping to diversify the content soon
No matter how scared u r to fail, ur still gunna fail either ways😂it’s just a matter of not giving up. I’m currently a welder, who’s learning front end dev, and I’ve been at my company for 1yr and 8mo. I really struggled for about a year. Every single day I would mess something up and had to gouge out the welds. One day I got a big beam that I had to finish welding. Weighed about 5,000+ lbs and the end plate that bolts to the ground ended up warping on me due to heat added from the welding despite it being 3/4” thick. It had 1/2” welds that I had to gouge out and cut the plate off in order to fix the warp somehow. After doing all that QC (quality control) told me to look at the beam and compare it to the blueprint. I welded the god damn plate backwards. I had to gouge that shit out again and fix it. All that took 5 days to fix. A 10hr beam turned into 40hrs worth of work. Best bet my production was shit and all the welders were talking shit about me💀now my quality is the best in the shop and even now I’m scared of fucking something up but it’s bound to still happen. I fucked up so many god damn times and wanted to tear my hair out and just quit for the day but I kept going. Now I’m just chillin at work stress free with an average of 103% production for January. And for December I only had 2 quality points as well as for November. As a bench mark, u get 3 points if ur missing 1 weld. 1 point if u didn’t clean ur welds properly and 2 points if there’s porosity, as an example. You can easily rack up points for any small thing.
Brian and Andres made me laugh at 6:47 😂😂
They have a love/hate relationship 😅

This makes me feel marginally better about graduating my CS degree with 2.5 GPA.
RAM is like a potato in the computer's soup😂😂
can you please tell or make a video on how to succeed in an internship? In my case, I have made a few basic projects by following youtube tutorials, but in a company, we need to make things ourselves right?, how to make a habit or practice doing that?
