  • Building a set of simple, shaker style cabinet doors.
Building cabinet doors doesn't have to be intimidating. In this latest video in our series documenting the process of completing a large builtin project we share our process for building cabinet doors.
We covered the material prep in a previous video so here were starting with material that's already prepared and cut to length.
In part 1 we are primarily covering cutting the grooves, and the joinery.

I like the groove chamfer detail. I might give it a try next time. Worth the price of the video.

I've made 29 cabinet doors and drawer fronts and thought I may not learn anything from this video. Turns out I did. Great video.
Speaking of coping sleds...don't buy the woodpeckers. Buy the rockler. My FIL has a woodpeckers one and it's proven to be terrible. I personally use a miter gauge and a clamp because I'm cheap

I wish I had watched this Friday night, and not Sunday. Fought tear-out al weekend. You need a Castle pocket hole machine. With 3k subscribers, wouldn't hurt to ask for a demo unit.

Got tired of the tear out myself and decided to try it…works pretty good. I’ll look into the castle.

@@CarpentryPlus I just upgraded to Castle 110 as well not long ago. Not a time saver for me but does help my joints stay aligned better. The only downside is that I cannot go to my local big box store and get more screws.

Climb cuts work better for metal so why not wood, A nice power feeder would make sense if your to do this all the time! Nice Job!!

Definitely like to add a nice power feeder at some point.

It looks like the tounge and grove are not equally centered? Is this better?

      Yes I believe it’s better.

i unno a about this one, running the pieces on the bit backwords seems very scary. I do like the chanfer you gave them, for some reason door makers here leave them flat to the panel and it kills me

I was skeptical about running the pieces backwards as well but if your set up is right and you take your time it’s not as scary as you might think.

I was skeptical at first about the safety of suggesting climb cutting, but with all your feather boards and your coping jig and your not standing in the possible path of any thrown wood, you were taking safety into consideration.
