You came with this info just in time! I am having a lot of pain now on both knees and started last week. No bruising, no swelling. I did not get injured that I know of. No popping noise. I can bend them. I have feeling on them or around them. The pain is when I walk or use the stairs up or down. No redness or fever.

What does it mean when you hear a crunching sound when you flex your knee?

If it does not hurt it could be gas bubbles forming and popping due to change in the pressure of the fluid inside the knee. If it hurts you should see a doctor, it could be a torn ligament or worn or broken cartilage. But I am no doctor, so take this with a grain of salt.

This is called crepitus sign. It can be due to rubbing in between the damaged joint surface. One of the condition is knee osteoarthritis.

Guys you pretty much just named the top symptoms I've had on my knee for 10 years after a second dislocation. I did go to the doctor, got exams, x-rays, and MRI and was under going physical therapy. The whole nine yards and they told me nothing was wrong yet a lot, I would say over 75% of the symptoms you mentioned, are STILL present to this day and yes it was work related.

I heard a pop when crouching down a few months ago. Knee hurt badly when pulling my foot out of a shoe or boot, but was fine when walking. Got an X-ray and MRI, no signs of damage. Still feels "full" behind the knee. Not sure what to do next.

A long time ago I tripped over a pallet backwards and I heard a loud pop in my left knee. It’s sometimes hard to put weight on it, ice burns it, anything warm turns it red. It wakes me up at night. It feels like it wants to lock or give out. I’m not sure if I swell up or not. I suspect that I may have torn my ACL.

I didn't hear you talk about intermittent pain, which I've had for many years. For instance - when going upstairs, my right knee will get a shot of pain. These days, because I have bone spurs in my left foot, I sometimes put more weight on my right knee when getting up from a chair, and that knee complains briefly, but painfully. (I am going to a podiatrist for my foot next week, but he's probably not going to talk too much about my other knee.) I have become used to doctors just going to tell me to lose weight (which I'm not opposed to, but it ain't that easy [5'7 = 197]), my main form of exercise is walking), and, as Jack Nicholson said, "What if this is as good as it gets."

I really needed to hear this about knees! I twisted my knee last March it did seem to heal to some degree! I am a hairdresser and all of a sudden the pain kicked in and I did go get an X-ray! Showed A bit of inflammation and the doctor said there was some arthritis. The issue I’m having is a here the popping you were talking about and would an MRI show more detail if it’s the meniscus or some underlying tendon?

Could the pain in my knees be coming from my back? Scoliosis degenerative disc disease mild in a mild bulging disc? Could it be Arthritis? I have multiple sclerosis. Diagnosed with lymphedema but the next doctor said it wasn't lymphedema he said edema? I am working on getting to some specialist to try to figure out what is going on

Had an MRI on my left knee after trying physio and that just making it worse, turns out I've torn my meniscus. No injury, just for funsies because of arthritis.
It feels squishy, like it doesn't move properly, it goes too far side to side. It gives way when I'm walking sometimes.
The other day it crunched then I heard a pop when in sat down. Couldn't straighten it for about five days.
    I'm waiting for surgery.

All my doctor does for everything is try and force narcotics and other drugs on me. She still wont help me find out why or what the problems are & is now refusing to help me find help or answers unless I accept her prescriptions for what she can't even explain or answer.

    • @marianl3447

WHY are you continuing to see that doctor? Get some one else. Do you know how to research for a good one? or ask people you know.

@@marianl3447 of course I have been trying for years, they're all trying to convince me that I'm wrong about them letting me down.. & this is my 5th doctor doing the same shit all over again and I'm currently trying to find a new one again but finding a doctor who is accepting new patients is hard with a medical phobia and constant pain... I've been gaslighted, ignored, hospitalized and never been able to find one doctor that is willing to help me figure anything out because I won't keep taking the drugs because the drugs make everything worse but they don't listen, no matter how much proof have that the drugs r hurt me, vomiting tooth erosion from vomiting gut damage, hair loss, skin rashes... Prescription pushing is all doctors care about here not helping. I've learned more from these amazing men here on TH-cam than any doctor, Bob and Brad have helped me manage some of my issues that they specialize in better than narcotics ever did

@@Just_another_shadow Will your insurance pay for a chiropractor? they dont' do that..i don't go to any MDS for that reason but there a few not like that that even take medicare ..and its extremely hard to find them. you have to be confident you deserve it (not fearful and doubting) and with a strong conviction call every one in the phone book or online and ask...then if they USE OR PRESCRIBE ANY MODALITIES NOT PHARMACETUCAL...LIKE SUPPLEMENTS AND THERAPIES AND WILL SEE AND REFER YOU TO OTHER THERAPIES THAT YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER IF YOU HAVE A REFERRAL FOR AND IF YOU DO NOT WANT PAIN OR REMEDIES EXCEPT NATURAL SUCH AS DIET, SUPPS AND THERAPIES. bUT THAT IS THEIR FIELD (PHARMA..MEDICALS) SO YOU DON'T GO TO THOSE DOCTORS USUALLY UNLESS YOU WANT THAT AND CAN'T MAKE THEM OR ANYONE BELIEVE YOU if they don't believe in what you want..so i go to those who do somthing and i had to pay for that all my life usually out of pocket but why go for what insurance pays for if it doesn't help. I also do things on my own with a lot of reading and videos of which there is an abundance of on line..and be my own doctor. complainng will make you worse..fighting with them will make u worse if it does'n't kill u. So get your own attitude cleaned up to where U can believe and ACCEPT there is someone and some way out there that will help you ,and with hope and appreciation in your mind and heart let yourself be LED to tthem and that .And every day talk to yourself to change that attitude or you won't find any help . because what you think and believe DOES IMPACT YOUR HEALTH AND YOUR OPTIONS AND HOW PEIOPLE SEE YOU AND TALK TO YOU TOO. JUST WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT FROM SOMEONE and then call around...and say what you want to receptionist and ask if that's what you can get and if not hang up and keep asking more people...Try also naturopaths..some are paid for by state health and medicare IF THEY are in an office under the umbrella of an Md...like a clinic. but otherwise i have just gone to them and paid for it myself....and got better when MD didn't help. Chiropractors can usually help more than MD ..most doctors don't help the way you want so most people who want help like you do go elsewhere. if money is an issue also ask for any possible financial arrangements and /or discounts for anyone...low income , senior ,etc. these are just a few ideas but we all have been there and find our way through and out of it. So you can do that too. but not if you keep seeing what you know won't work and then just feel worse ..you have to have hope and do something different whatevver it costs howeveryou can...and it will take time to find it and do it maybe but don't get down into a dark attitude which won't help and will keep it from changing. There are even chiro practors and naturopathics who help on line with questions and then do personal calls on phones or internet and have really helped people get well and also lowered costs...even did some free work..you just have to feel really worthy and really confident of your right to ask no matter how many times you get a no or a judgement or a put down...you just ignore that and keep going. i have totally recovered from the worse stuff on my own...i just was determined too and eventually had no bad feelings about MDs ..just don't want them for my health care...and nothing they or anyone can say will make me feel bad about myself...that has to change because some of illness IS HOW WE FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF AND THAT CAN KEEP US SICK. you have to love yourself enough to know you're worthy of care and go for it.
