    Thanks for giving an awesome and in-depth review. Finally someone who understands how to give consumers what they need to know. Sound quality, connectivity, feel, and overall functionality. Know I’ll purchase these and see if I feel the same way you do. I appreciate how you did this.

    These headphones do have active noise activation as well. When not using the ambient mode the external microphones are used for noise cancellation.

    Love the video straight to the point.. !! I'd personally recommend the Rowkin Pace . I can wear them for any amount of time and still not feel ANY pressure, anywhere. The battery is so good you forget about charging it--when that time does arrive, though, it charges quick.

    Unless I am much mistaken, anc is playing back the same audio in such a way the the sound waves create a destructive interference pattern, rather like the double slit experiment.

    Thanks for the review been waiting for this and see others experience with them. Hey quick tip about the tonetouch setting within the E8 I just realized that u can make the circle bigger to cross between modes or have a fuller sound profile within the four sound profiles or have a flat sound range within all four modes. Its funny B&O setup does not mention that or the app itself does not illustrate that.

      I work as Best Buy so I got a cool discount atm. I have the PowerBeats2 wireless and my biggest issue is I can't have my phone on the right side because it just cuts off entirely. are there any cut offs while excising in the right or left side pocket wise?

      Joseph Muro between the Bose Soundsport Free and E8 which one do you think had more BASS ?

    • @Drewg351
      @Drewg351 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Pranay Jain, I've had the Bose Soundsports and the B & O E8, along with the Jabra Elite Sport. Honestly, the Bose have by far the best "sound", "bass", and "volume". But, I had to return them. They are soooooo damm BIG and stick out of your ears so much, they look absolutely ridiculous. I was thoroughly embarrassed wearing them anywhere outside of the house. One other major issue with the Bose, "drop out", especially while wearing a hoody or hat in the winter. But sound wise, the Bose are heads above in overall sound quality. This made it difficult to return them. But the large size was a complete deal breaker for me.
      As for the Jabra Elite Sport, they are really quite nice. They are the "tightest fitting" as far as using them for running or biking, etc... These will NEVER fall out. In fact, they actually take a bit of really pulling on them to remove them when I want too. These stay put. Unfortunately, they also hurt my ears the most and I cannot wear them for more than an hour or so. In fact, when I go to reinstall them the following day, my ears are still sore from them pressing so hard on my ear bones the previous day. Overall, the sound quality is decent. Bass is definitely lacking. They are no better or worse in sound quality as the B & O's, but we'll behind the Bose in every sound quality facet. These haven't "cutout" though and I really do like them. But depending upon how they fit your ears, you'll either love these or hate them. The Jabra app is the best app with the most features of all three ear buds, hands down.
      As for the B & O E8's, honestly, I was expecting better sound quality. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but still, nowhere close to the Bose. Bass is lacking, but mids and highs are the best in these E8's. But for $300.00, I was expecting a much better sound quality. As far as "fit", I like these the best of the three. I can wear these all day without any ear pain. But, they don't stay in as well as both the Bose and definitely not close to the Jabra. But overall, these fit my ears the best. The user features, tapping the left and right ear bud is actuality very, very, nice, albeit, it takes some getting used to. But compared to how the Jabra force you to push really hard on the tiny buttons on each ear bud (which can really start to hurt after awhile), these passive buttons are wonderful. Great job with this feature B & O. The B & O app does not allow you to do very much. It's very lacking and the EQ adjustments (if you can even call it that) are severely lacking. You get to slide a button from the center to very, very, slightly adjust sound quality based on "mood", yes "mood". You can pick from 4 adjustments such as "excited, warm, bright, and relaxed". Ridiculous and really useless in my opinion. I've only had the E8's for a few day's so I cannot honestly discuss "drop outs" or "cut outs". I will update this in a week to include this experience.
      In conclusion, for pure sound quality, I've yet to find a wireless ear bud style that beats the Bose for sound quality, or really, even comes close. I assume the large size of the Bose and their drivers has alot to do with this. If sound quality, bass, and volume are your primary concern, and looking like "Frankenstein with bolts coming out of your ears" doesn't bother you, and you don't live in a cold climate like myself in Northern Minnesota, where we wear hats and hoodys year round, look no further. You won't find any better. I can promise you that. If you are super active, running, hiking, biking, etc.... Jabra's are your best bet, as long as the "ear pain" isn't an issue. These will NEVER fall out or move once you figure out the correct ear cushion and wings. If the Jabra's hurt you too much, like myself, the B & O's are an expensive substitute, but you'll have no pain. But as I mentioned, for $300.00, sound quality should be really damm good, and that's simply not the case.

      Drewg351 good comments, same as my experience but finally I chose Bose because of their sound quality. I think the doubt of B&O"s sound is because of their orientation,B&O decided by Europe company is good for some gentle music just like the European speakers always did. Bose decided by US, their are mainly for Rock, Pop songs

    Really enjoyed the review and have subscribed for future reviews. Was looking at the apple airpods/bose soundsport and the beoplay e8. After this review I think I'm going to go with these. Apple don't really get good reviews sound wise and the bose are biased towards the right ear which doesn't really suit me as I'm deaf in my right ear. All reviews I've seen for the beoplay e8's have been really positive and helped my decision a lot. Just need to find a shop with some in stock so I can try them out. Thanks again for the great review.

    Very thorough review. Thank you. I am now strongly leaning towards the E8s. It's a shame about the USB-C. I would hope to keep these for a good few years and by the end of that time micro USB will seem like ancient history. Everything else seems good though. (Well, assuming they fix the phase screw-up problem that you mentioned.)

    I got these the week it was launched and I've been loving it. Bonus feature not mentioned in all reviews I watched: you can connect it to 2 devices at the same time. I have an android galaxy S6 (my personal phone) and iphone 6s+ (biz phone) and it connects to both simultaneously HOWEVER, there is a connection glitch. Whenever I need to connect to 2 devices, i have to forget one device and re-pair it I usually re-pair the iphone as my S6 is my main phone) then connection to 2 phones at the same time works. If you try connecting to 2 devices and don;t re-pair one of them, it doesn't connect. I tried emailing B&O customer support (they replied after several days) but their answer didn't seem to satisfy me so I just do the above (minimal hassle to me, for now). Hope this helps.

    Hello I wanna ask you only one question which no one reveals.....
    I have b&o E8 and I’m using only my right earbud cause I’m always on phone calls, but if battery of right earbuds is empty, why I couldn’t use my left earbuds? Like Apple AirPods you can use so you can’t be with out Bluetooth..... even my right headset battery is dead and my left headset is fully charged its a useless with my right headset..... hope everyone has same problem, and that’s the only issues with this product
    Hope you’ll reply me soon
    Thank you

    The E8's are fantastic earbuds with probably the longest battery life I have yet seen from these types of earbuds. Though they're not perfect, the sound quality, though really good, just isn't as good as say the Sony's WX-1000's. Though the biggest issue for me is that they really need a sound boost for music, as in even at 100% I could use another 25%-50% boost in loudness. Though for some reason if you use Tidal with E8's as I do, music sounds incredible. Seriously, the difference between Tidal and say Apple/Google/Spotify/SoundCloud music services is night and day. So I just use Tidal for all of my music needs and that fixed that issue. Everything else though, they sound perfect.
    All of these earbuds have their issues, but the E8's are really the absolute best, providing a well rounded set of features, battery life, good connection, light weight and comfortable to wear. These really need to be on top of your shopping list if your interested in tiny earbuds.

    • @davidc.7838
      @davidc.7838 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you really notice a difference with tidal? I've read that there are some technical limitations for audio over Bluetooth that won't let pass all the info of high definition music.

    Great review! I have a pair of these and truly love them however, I wish they had more noise isolation. I don’t know if it’s because of the shape of my ears ( which are pretty normal ) but I hear everything going on around me, especially at the gym. I’ve had more sound isolation from the Jaybirds. That being said, I love these and it’s a small compromise.

    I always had a hard time connecting the E8 to my android devices, which is Samsung Note 8 and Tablet Tab 4, but no problem with my ipod touch. That's why I sold them. I mean it was difficult to connect them first time to android based devices, but once they are paired, everything was fine. Does anybody experience the same issues? May be Bangs have fixed the issue?

    HI... I like your review, very details explained. I like nice audio but I have no knowledge about the frequency, etc. I watch your other reviews such as Shure SE846 vs IE800... Can this be compare to those 2 in terms or sound quality? Or is it wrong to even compare them because they are at different category?

    Question: are you able to use the E8's one at a time.
    So say wanted to use them for a phone call with just one in the ear. Is this possible or do you have to use both?
    I'm currently using Apple AirPods and really want to move away from them.

      lifewithtechnet You can use just the right earpiece or both in stereo.

  • @Elfin4
    @Elfin4 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great sound when they work. I had two and had to return for a refund when the second set failed to work again with the exactly the same fault. Loss of connection, left side wouldn't sync and pair then both just failed to turn on. Very disappointing given teh price tag.

    Question, would you be able to hear both earbuds when you on a phone call?

  • @philzranchev5666
    @philzranchev5666 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You have the best reviews for the better headphones most don't review, so thank you for that. I know you just released this review and I'm not sure how long you've had to play with/use them, but how have the touch features been (volume up, next track, previous track, etc.)? I've heard the functionality doesn't work 100% of the time & you have to try a touch feature multiple times. Can you touch on that?
    Also, how do firmware updates work? Do you download them through a B&O app?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Phil Zranchev Thank you sir. The touch controls have been very solid for me so far. Rarely, it doesn't respond and I will have to do the gesture again. The firmware updates through the app takes about 15-20 mins. However, you can still use the earphones for media playback while the update downloads and transfers over to them. Once the update has transferred, the earphones turn off all functionality but remain on to install the update. That process takes about 2 minutes.

    By the way, call quality is absolutely horrible (it's so noisy) so the caller on the other side will hear everything around you with increased volume. Your voice will blend with background sounds. ---- I hope it's a fabric issue and I will get a good earbuds replaced in store.

    Do these sound the best only with music in iTunes (or AAC)? I am not entirely sure how bluetooth earphones work but it seems like this one only works with SBC and AAC. So would these earphones live up to the sound quality that you mentioned in the review, via an Android phone using Spotify (extreme quality)? If only SBC can be used outside of iTunes, then the sound quality would be underwhelming, right?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Il-Woong Oh Not necessarily. SBC is limited to 352kbps. Spotify streams at up to 320kbps.

    Great review!! Have recently started a job within the world of insurance (office, suit, smart) and am trying to get some earphones which match this look but also sound great. Do you think these could be the ones? Currently have bose qc30, bose soundsport free (running), Jaybird x3 (gym), partner has airpods, and Sony wh-1000x m2 - do you think I’d like these (E8) would fit into my likes (above list)?

    Received my e8 and they are pretty awesome, as you described. Just realized that my pair has a problem, when i listen loud to piano songs, the right earbud makes a crackling sound. I tried several songs, like 9 crimes, or th-cam.com/video/8Y4BJxjGgW8/w-d-xo.html and so on, but the crackling still occurs. Can you please check yours, if they have the same sound issues? Thank you sooooo much in advance. Cheers Mark

      TheGamingAudiophile I should really exchange it, because when I hear this song loud there is really a noticeable crackling sound inside the right earphone, to bad. Thank you very much for testing it. Have a nice evening, cheers Mark
